In an exclusive interview, Subramanian talked about his CBSE 10th board exam preparation routine, his reaction to Class 10 CBSE results, tips for upcoming aspirants and more. CBSE Board Exams 2025 were conducted from February 15 to March 18, 2025. The Board announced the CBSE Class 10 Results 2025 on May 13.

CBSE 10th Topper 2025: Shiksha.com recently spoke with CBSE Class 10 Topper 2025, NR Subramanian, who not only excelled in academics but also has a clear vision for the future. Subramanian scored 484 Marks out of 500 Marks, i.e., 96.8%. In this interview, the young topper shares insights about exam preparation, family support, future aspirations, advice for fellow students, and more.

Q:   Does CBSE cut marks for exceeding the word limit?
A:

No, CBSE does not deduct marks for exceeding the word limit in the board exams. However, marks may be deducted for spelling mistakes and other errors in language papers.

Q: Many congratulations on such high marks! How did you feel after seeing the marks?

A: After seeing my results, I was very happy and excited. As the announcement of CBSE results takes a lot of time, I was a bit nervous, but once they were out, I was super happy. I scored what I expected.

Q: Speak about your family.

A: My father is a clerk at Dhanlaxmi Bank, while my mother is an office assistant. I have a younger brother in Class 8, and I stay with my two loving grandparents. My family has always supported my plan for studies.

Q: Which stream have you chosen for your Class 12?

A: I opted for the Humanities stream. My aim is to be an advocate, and studying Humanities is the first step toward my dream.

Q: What was your routine for CBSE board exam preparations?

A: I followed a disciplined schedule which included getting up early in the morning and studies for about 5 to 6 hours every day. I stuck to solving sample papers, which helped me build confidence in my preparation.

Q: Which are your favourite subjects?

A: My favorite subjects are Mathematics & Social Science.

Q: Are you planning to appear for any entrance exams?

A: Yes, I am preparing for the Common Law Admission Test, and that will be taken up after Class 12th.

Q: Which college would you like to attend?

A: I dream about studying at the National Law University. I also aspire to pursue my LLB there and take the next step in becoming a lawyer.

Q: What are your long-term goals?

A: I want to be a Supreme Court advocate. Later, I would like to serve as a magistrate or judge in the Supreme Court.

Q: Who were your biggest supporters?

A: My parents, teachers, grandparents, brother, relatives, and friends always supported me. This motivation means so much to me.

Q: What was your strategy to score above 95 percent?

A: My strategy combined consistency, hard work, determination, and focus. Of course, regular prayers played an important role.

Q: What advice would you give to students in preparing for the CBSE Board Exams 2026?

A: I can advise one to work hard, be determined, manage time well, and study regularly. Success is possible with determination and proper planning.

Marksheet and Adhaar details must be matched. So you have to approach to 10th passing school with relevant documents. The school will submit the application to CBSE regional office for correction.

After 10th you need to complete your 10+2. However, if you are adamant about exploring a career in journalism, it is advised to take the humanities stream in 10+2 instead of Maths or Biology. Yes you can do but not as a full-timer. After 10th you will only be eligible for part-time or vocational courses like in Photography,  Editing, etc. because to get a degree in journalism you need to have a minimum qualification of 10+2 and only then you will be allowed to enter the college or media
