The oldest engineering college of the Northeast has a great legacy.
Placements: Many reputed companies like OIL, NRL, Vedanta, L&T, Ashok Leyland, and many more visit the campus for placement drives and select students with good academics and the required skills. Approximately 50 to 60% students get placed. Almost all students with a good CGPA get internships in many reputed companies/PSUs like OIL, IOCL, NRL, APDCL, POWERGRID, and many more.
Infrastructure: AEC has well equipped classrooms, labs, workshops, a library, and a canteen. There are 8 boys hostels and 1 girls hostel with good Wi-Fi facilities. The sports culture is good on campus. AEC also provides transportation facilities. Many sports events take place throughout the year. Inter Hostel Tournaments also take place.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is relevant as per industry needs, which makes the students ready for jobs, along with good communication and leadership skills. Exams are fairly structured, focusing on conceptual clarity rather than wrote learning.

It is a very good college with good teachers and hostels.
Placements: Almost 50% are placed. The highest package is 24 LPA. Everywhere, students are placed with good salaries. Very good teachers. Companies offered include Oil India Limited, Hindustan, Numaligarh Refinery Limited, Coal India, Vedanta, and many more.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and a library are very good. Medical facilities are good. Canteens are also available. All types of sports are played. Indoor and outdoor games are played, and intra-hostel games are also played in the hostels.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They are very good. The course curriculum is relevant, and it prepares the students to be ready for the industry. Semester exams are tough, but the teachers make it easier in every possible way. The pass percentage is almost 100%.

Overall, it is a moderate college. I would rate 7/10.
Placements: The placement scenario is quite good. From our branch, about 60% of students get placed, and the lowest is around 2.5 LPA to 3 LPA, and the highest goes up to 12 LPA. Top recruiting companies are PSUs, LNC Vedanta, and Tata Motors. Mostly 100% of the students get internships in most of the IITs and PSUs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our course is good. They are quite organized to some extent. Wi-Fi facilities are also present in the hostel. The hostel food is also good, only lunch and dinner are provided. The canteen is also good.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is quite good. They take the classes properly. They teach easily and give us notes. They do make the students industry-ready to some extent. Semester exams are average. Teachers are good. They are friendly and they are available outside the classroom.

The college offers excellent placements, a strong faculty, and a good range of choices.
Placements: Many companies like L&T, OIL, Vedanta, Pepsico, etc, come in the placement drive and select students who have a minimum CGPA of 7 and have good communication skills. RIL has offered packages around 6.5 LPA and a 1 Lacs bonus, while L&T offers 6.5 LPA. Around 60 -70% students secure placement.
Infrastructure: AEC has well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, workshops, and separate hostels for boys and girls. We can use Wi-Fi when on the campus and in the hostel, which is 24/7. Labs are well-equipped, and the library consists of the required books. The classroom is big enough for more than 100 students to sit, with AC and a digital board. AEC also provides transport, medical, and sports facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and have their method of teaching. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready, along with good communication and management skills. Exams are quite difficult, but if you understand and study them, it is easy to pass. The pass percentage is 90%.

Satisfied because of the placements and campus scenery.
Placements: About 420 students get admission to this college every year by qualifying for the CEE entrance examination. The highest package is roughly about 5-6 LPA, the average package is between 6-8 LPA, and the lowest is about 3-4 LPA. In my course, the top recruiting company is TATA Semiconductor. About 40-60% of students get the opportunity.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is fast but not available 24/7. The labs are in good condition. The first-year classrooms are okay, but the department classrooms are absolutely amazing. The library is well-designed and good for self-study. The hostels are also in good condition, and the food provided by the hostel mess is okay, but the fest is awesome. The college canteen is fine and has low-cost food items that are affordable to buy and eat.
Faculty: Teachers are very friendly, and they will guide and teach you like their own children. The course curriculum is relevant and makes students ready for their industrial life and placements, which also helps in running startup ideas. The semester exams are quite difficult but provide a good experience.
Other: I have chosen this course because of the TATA Semiconductor plant, which is under construction in Jagiroad, Assam. The events like Pyrokinesis are some of the biggest events in Assam. Also, events like Teach Axom, etc. Here you can get a variety of scholarships and opportunities to open yourself up to the fullest.

Assam Engineering College review
Placements: Top recruiters visiting AEC include Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Wipro, Capgemini, Oil India Limited, L&T, Infosys, and a few PSU-like organizations. For core engineering branches like Electrical and Mechanical, placements in private core companies remain limited, but students often pursue off-campus or GATE-based opportunities. The average package ranges from 4 to 6 LPA for tech roles, while top performers in CSE and ECE occasionally bag offers of 10+ LPA from product-based companies or through internships converted to full-time roles.
Infrastructure: Assam Engineering College offers a spacious campus with well-equipped laboratories, lecture halls, and a central library. Hostels, Wi-Fi facilities, sports grounds, and a new auditorium enhance student life. Though some buildings are aging, ongoing renovations and digital upgrades aim to improve the overall infrastructure and learning environment.
Faculty: Faculty at Assam Engineering College (AEC) consists of experienced professors, many with PhDs and research backgrounds. They are supportive and approachable, especially in core subjects. The curriculum follows the guidelines of Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) and is designed to provide a strong foundation in both theoretical and practical concepts. In core branches like Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Computer Science, the syllabus covers fundamental subjects along with electives in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence.
Other: Assam Engineering College offers a vibrant campus life with active student clubs, annual fests, and strong alumni support. Located in Guwahati, it provides decent hostel and sports facilities. Many students excel in GATE, UPSC, and higher studies, making AEC a respected hub for academic and personal development in Northeast India.
