Satisfied because of the placements and campus scenery.
Placements: About 420 students get admission to this college every year by qualifying for the CEE entrance examination. The highest package is roughly about 5-6 LPA, the average package is between 6-8 LPA, and the lowest is about 3-4 LPA. In my course, the top recruiting company is TATA Semiconductor. About 40-60% of students get the opportunity.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is fast but not available 24/7. The labs are in good condition. The first-year classrooms are okay, but the department classrooms are absolutely amazing. The library is well-designed and good for self-study. The hostels are also in good condition, and the food provided by the hostel mess is okay, but the fest is awesome. The college canteen is fine and has low-cost food items that are affordable to buy and eat.
Faculty: Teachers are very friendly, and they will guide and teach you like their own children. The course curriculum is relevant and makes students ready for their industrial life and placements, which also helps in running startup ideas. The semester exams are quite difficult but provide a good experience.
Other: I have chosen this course because of the TATA Semiconductor plant, which is under construction in Jagiroad, Assam. The events like Pyrokinesis are some of the biggest events in Assam. Also, events like Teach Axom, etc. Here you can get a variety of scholarships and opportunities to open yourself up to the fullest.

Dissatisfied with the college and infrastructure and placement drive have been very good.
Placements: The placement drive for our batch has not started yet as we're still in our 6th semester. The placement drive in our college will initiate from our 7th semester that is from my next semester. Overall, the placement in our institute is very good and our senior batch in electronics and telecommunication engineering has the highest placement percentage. About 75-80% of students got placed from the whole college.
Infrastructure: The facilities in our college are below par compared to the other universities or colleges in Guwahati. The reason behind this is that proper attention is not given to the up-gradation of the college and the classrooms. On the other hand, the hostel facilities are better than it has been since the college's establishment was in 1955. Hostel 2 (my current hostel) was established in 1958. Upgradation had been done to all the 8 hostels in the college in the year 2020-2021 and overall, the facilities have been excellent with just a few tweaks here and there.
Faculty: The teachers in our college are helpful and friendly. The teaching has also been good. The teaching and cooperation from the teachers side makes the students ready to face the advanced technology based industries. The question papers for the semester exams are set by the ASTU board and the difficulty level is moderate. The pass percentage is 90-95% in the college.
Other: Assam Engineering College Guwahati is a very renowned institute in Assam. I chose the B.E. course to cope with the IT industries and also the advancement catching up with fast pace in India and all over the world.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of faculty, bad infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: I don't know the percent of students placed from my course. The highest package offered in my course was 10 LPA, average was 5 LPA and the lowest is 2.7 LPA. Top recruiting company for the course was BEL. There were no internship opportunities offered from the campus.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is good. Labs are horrible as most of the equipments would be non-functional. Classrooms are old school, nothing hi-fi. Most of the time the books that we need are not in the library because of limited supply. The food of hostel wasn't good. Canteen was fine enough. Medical facilities was just for show which exists only during blood donation campaign. Students would actively participate in sports and games.
Faculty: The Faculty wasn't good. Most of the time they were not very helpful. Nope. It doesn't make the students industry ready unless the students learn by themselves. The course doesn't teach anything new that is needed to work with in today's generation.

Absolutely satisfied with the college.
Placements: The placement scenario has improved a lot in the last few years with big companies coming every year and taking our students with big packages. Many of our students have bagged international internships with universities like Hadvard University and many more.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure overall is good with all facilities required by an reputed technical institution of the country. With modern class room, well-equipped laboratory, well maintained library, all sports related fields and courts along with a gymkhana. All hostel are connected with central Wi-Fi. We are also only engineering college in the state having supercomputing centre.
Faculty: With a course of international standard which is revised at a regular interval to keep up with the technological advancement going on around the world which is also a gateway to industry exposure. Our teachers are renowned techinal person of the country and the world who have done immense contribution to the society through their knowledge.
Other: We have lots of events in our college all round the year to bring out the extra talents of our students which includes annual events like Pyrokinesis and others.

A great college with supportive teachers but needs a lot of modification in infrastructure.
Placements: Though the placements have improved considerably, the placement cell needs to give much more effort and time and try bringing the best IT and Core companies during placements. Also the placement call needs to train the students before pre-placement talks so that students find themselves comfortable and confident during placements. The present scenario is such where companies like TCS, Wipro, Accenture, etc. Are coming for placements offering salaries ranging from 3.2-3.6 LPA but the placement cell needs to focus more on bringing companies like Huawei, SAP labs, etc. Offering salaries ranging from 7-12 LPA per annum.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure needs a lot of improvement to be frank. There is a computer lab available but lacks quality teachers. Library is there but lacks the availability of good books. Canteen is there but quality of food needs to be improved. Also manpower should be increased in the canteen as students need to stand in queues for longer periods which affects the productivity. Hostels need renovation big time. Also the intake capacity should be increased as a lot of students need to stay outside (day scholars). .
Faculty: Lacks quality teachers except the Head of the Department. The teachers need to be more knowledgeable and friendly and should focus more of qualitative study rather than being quantitative. The course curriculum needs drastic modification as a lot of topics and sections are there in our syllabus which can easily be deemed as useless and unnecessary.
Other: The college is one of the premier institutes in north-east and to keep the reputation protected, important steps need to be taken. Need to bring in more scholarship schemes by the college administration. College fest (Pyrokinesis) is good but teachers should be there to guide the college union body during the event so that it can be made a bigger success. Also non-hostellers should be provided with more opportunities during college sports week and other events. Also if possible, bring in some coaches to guide them efficiently and productively.
