Bidhannagar Government College, the campus of opportunities.

Placements: The college has a placement wing operated by the Principal, but in recent years there is not any news of direct placement from the college. But, various local companies usually from the sector-5, Salt Lake, visit the college and offer the students their part-time or full-time private jobs. In my view, the students should make a target of scoring high marks from the departments and then prepare for further interviews and other exams.

Infrastructure: The college has a really great environment for studies as well as for other physical activities. The old building is beautifully decorated, and even the new building is really great. The classrooms are spacious and equipped with modern facilities like projectors, screens, etc. The library has a good collection of academic books as well as other books and international magazines. Also, quality foods are available from the canteen in a very cheap rate. Medical facilities are also available from the health room.

Faculty: This college has a great environment for studies. Departments like microbiology, zoology and chemistry have really some fantastic highly qualified faculty members. Other arts departments have also got some renowned professors. However, one should thoroughly follow the instructions from the faculty. Their teaching methods are also attractive for the students. Professors usually use projectors, laptops and other facilities during their classes which helps the students a lot. Bidhannagar college follows the syllabus of West Bengal State University which is helpful for any kind of competitive exams in future.

Other: The college union organises yearly fest named Dhoon every winter. The college authority also conducts regular seminars and conferences throughout the year. It helps the students to be more enthusiastic towards their studies. The college has some useful scholarships and government schemes for meritorious and needy students. One should contact the student section officer for the details regarding this.
