Metallurgical branch is a good career option.
Placements: Placement of the metallurgical branch is too good. 100% of students are placed (who fulfill company criteria: 7+ CGPA, max 2 passive backlogs, more than 70% in board exams). The highest package is 14 LPA offered by Vedanta. The lowest package is 5 LPA. The average package is 7.5-8 LPA. JSW, JSPL, Aditya Birla Group, Adani Ltd, L&T, Vedanta, Tata Steel, Shyam Metallics, Reliance, etc., recruit. B.I.T. Sindri offers 3rd-year internships of 2 types: Paid and Unpaid. Those who couldn't crack a Paid internship find it necessary to do an Unpaid Internship (no stipend). 10-15 students can crack a paid internship out of 55 students.
Infrastructure: The 1st-year hostel is clean and spacious, with two students per room, but from 2nd to 3rd year, 3-4 students share a room, and only final-year students get single rooms. Hostel quality declines after the first year. There's no Wi-Fi in hostels or classrooms, only in the library. Labs have old but functional instruments. The mess food is good, offering non-veg meals five days a week. Sports facilities are excellent, with events like SPARDHA, inter-branch football, and intra-branch cricket matches. Grounds are spacious. However, medical facilities are below average and need improvement for better student support.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, mostly from reputed institutes like IITs, and are very supportive, especially for students aiming for GATE and PSUs. The course is industry-relevant and prepares students well for future careers. Exams are relatively tough, requiring consistent effort to secure 8 CGPA or more. Very few students reach or exceed 9 CGPA, with most falling between 7 to 8. However, students scoring above 8 CGPA have better chances of securing good placements, making academic focus essential for career success.
Other: I chose this course because of its low fees and 100% placement opportunities. The best part is that it's a prestigious branch not offered in every college. Unlike Computer Science, which is available everywhere (Government, GFTIs, and Private colleges) and has rising competition every year, this branch is offered only in reputed institutions. With less competition, it offers better career prospects. Only around 3000 students appear for GATE in this branch, so with a little extra effort, you can achieve what CS students work extremely hard for.

It is an outstanding college for students.
Placements: Many students get placed in BIT. The highest package is approximately 40 LPA, and the lowest package is 4 LPA. In this college, placements are good for almost all branches. Metallurgical has the highest percentage of placements of approximately 95%, which is outstanding.
Infrastructure: The department offers well-equipped labs with modern instruments. The library is well stocked with different types of books. The hostel life is also very good at BIT. The mess is also up to the mark. The college has a lush green campus of approximately 400 acres.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and well-qualified. Their teaching quality is excellent, with clear explanations and a strong focus on practical knowledge. The course curriculum is also good, as practical knowledge is provided by the faculty members.
Other: In our course, placements are very good, so I chose it. I wish the course included industry-related content so that students have the proper knowledge of the industry and hence enhance their practical knowledge.

Core sectors dominate, with top recruiters including Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Vedanta, Adani, L&T, and Hindalco offering roles with an average package of ?5?8 LPA. The highest packages, ranging up to ?25?40 LPA, are typically secured through core industries or niche roles. IT companies like TCS, Infosys, and Wipro also recruit, offering packages in the range of ?4?6 LPA. BIT Sindri College Experience Unveiled.
Placements: Here all the eligible students from the Metallurgical Engineering department get placement. 95% of the students get placement.
The highest package offered was 13.5 by Vedanta and the lowest was 3.5 by TCS.
Top recruiting companies are Vedanta, Tata Steel, JSW, JSL, JSPL, and ABG.
30% of students get an internship in the TATA Steel, JSL, and JSPL.
The top role offered in my course is the role of assistant manager.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the department is above average for a state government college. Many facilities are available here, like a lab facility, a smart board in the classroom, and a conference room for discussion. The library is very big and you can find all the books you need for a course or anything. But the Wi-Fi facility is neither available in the department nor in the library.
The hostel is good enough for the students and the mess food is also above average for the students. A canteen and medical facility are available on campus but not inside the hostel. There is a club ground within walking distance from the hostel where students can play games and sports.
Faculty: Professors of all the departments in this college are well qualified, having a PhD degree. Their teaching method is also very good so that all the students will understand everything.
The professors teach in such a way that the students will get ready for the industry and also help us to go on industrial tours in nearby industries like SAIL.
The semester exams are of moderate difficulty level. Maximum students get passing marks except those who don't study anything.
Other: I have chosen this course because of my interest in the metallurgical field. The best thing about this course is that it is easy to understand with practical knowledge.
The research lab should be available in this course for students who have an interest in the research field.
Various cultural, technical, and sports events are organized from time to time. Connectivity is also good; it is 30 km from the main city, Dhanbad and a direct train is available from the Dhanbad Junction to Sindri town. The scholarship is also provided for students whose family income is less than RS 250000. The state government provides an e-Kalyaan scholarship and alumni of this also provide various scholarships to the students who score good marks in semester exams.

Placements: The college has a good placement ratio, with about 85-90 percent of students getting placed in highly reputed companies. The minimum package offered is 3.25 LPA by TCS, and the highest package is 16 LPA by Vedanta. There are many companies like Vedanta, TATA Steel, Wipro, Adani, Cognizant, TCS, Akash, Byjus, Jindal Steel, JSL, and many more.
Infrastructure: There are a total of 10 branches in the college: Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Production and Industrial Engineering. There are residential facilities in the college. There are almost 28 hostels allotted to students from the first year to the final year. In the first year, a single room is allotted to five students. In the second year, a single room is allotted to four students, and in the third and fourth year, a single room is allotted to a single student. In each hostel, there is a mess facility. For first-year students, it costs 4200 per month, and from the second year, it will be 3900 per month.
Faculty: All the faculty members in the college are highly qualified in their educational field and have high-quality teaching skills, so that students grasp the concepts easily. For every lecture room, a single faculty is assigned to 70 students, while in the laboratory, 4-5 faculty members are assigned to a group of 30 students. There are regular examinations, and the level of examination is at a moderate level compared to other colleges, so that students do not face too much burden of study.
Other: A student with a craze for knowing how the industry solves industrial problems chooses B.Tech. The college is full of greenery, and many clubs organize different events regularly, like Teach-fest, Green Marathon, Coding competitions, and many more.

Placements: Among 85% students got placed, the highest package was around 50Lpa the lowest package was around 4 LPA and average package was around 6-7 LPA.
Top recruiting companies are Tata steel, JSw, vedanta, samsung and Yamaha.
About 60 percent of students got internship from tata steel, adani, jsw and many more.
Infrastructure: All the infrastructure of my college is nice, we have smart classes and we have a big library where we can found books of our courses. The hostels infrastructure is good we have sports facilities and we also have a proper mess and medical arrangements.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They guide us about what to do and they are highly qualified. Their teaching quality is awesome. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry ready. The pass percentage is average. The semester exams are not much tough. If you prepare in a better way then you can pass with a good CGPA.
Other: I chose this course by my choice because I wanted to go in materials field and the best thing for this course is it has maximum placements with good packages.

It is a good government college with decent placement.
Placements: Almost every student eligible for placement gets placed. The average salary is around 800000 INR. Tata Steel, Vedanta, JSW, etc. are the major recruiting companies. Internships are based on the skills the students have. Tata Steel provides internships and the college faculty members guide the students.
Infrastructure: Separate hostels are provided for students of different branches and batches. The hostels have basic facilities. Food is okay. Classrooms are well-equipped with projectors. Canteen is always open for students. There are two playgrounds available and various sports are being played.
Faculty: The faculty are qualified from various prestigious colleges of our country. They are very cooperative and helpful. Two mid semester exams are held in a semester and then the end semester exams take place. The semester exams are of moderate level, and it is quite easy to pass in them.

Placements: After COVID, placements improved very much. In the previous year, almost all students got placed. Top recruiting companies like TATA, Samsung, TCS Ninja, L&T, etc., visit our campus. The highest salary package offered is 45.5 LPA by Amazon.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is unavailable in the hostel, but we can access it in the library and some department buildings. The library is adequate. Labs are average and should be improved because a fund of Rs.100,00,00,000 is received by our college from the Jharkhand government every year.
Faculty: Our teachers are good and well-qualified. They are supportive. The course is out of date, but they are starting to add some concepts from a new era. Semester exams are not too difficult because questions are related to what teachers teach us.
