On Fees and Eligibility
Q:   Can I get into CIET with 70% in class 12th?
A:

Typically, a 12th standard qualification with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) is required to be eligible for courses like computer science, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering at CIET. But as of right now, the precise admission cutoff percentage is not disclosed. The amount of applications and the candidates' overall performance are only two examples of the many variables that might cause the cutoff percentages to change from year to year.

Consequently, even if you might be eligible for consideration with a 70% class 12 score, your final admission status will rely on the particular cutoff for the year you're applying. The most precise and current information on entrance requirements and cutoff percentages can be found by often visiting the official CIET website.

Q:   Can I get admission in CIET for B.Tech with 60% in Class 12th?
A:

Your performance on the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) exam is the main criteria for admission to CIET's B.Tech programmes. The qualifying criteria are your Class 12th scores; a minimum score of 60% is required. The TNEA exam results you take have a lot more weight in the admissions process. Even with a 60% in class 12, a strong TNEA score can greatly increase your chances of getting into CIET.

Within CIET, there is a significant variation in the cut-off scores for various branches and classifications (open, SC, ST, etc.). Less well-liked fields may have lower cut-offs, whereas popular fields like computer Science frequently have higher cut-offs. Furthermore, the cutoffs for reserved category seats are lower than those for open category seats.

Every individual gets an internship in good and recognized companies. Our university offers various roles in the corporate security and management sectors.
Infrastructure: All the facilities are easily available in an excellent manner, including Wi-Fi, lifts, and comfy benches. There are many grounds for students to spend their free time playing games and relaxing. Moreover, the facilities for food in the hostel are superb.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, provide good study material, and teach with a full heart. The curriculum offers great knowledge and includes all the necessary stuff that every student should know. The exams are of a medium level, which improves logical reasoning.
Other: I was interested in this course. It basically focuses on the skills of pupils. The crowd is appropriate, and the surroundings are clean. Opportunities for scholarship are also available.

Very expensive college.
Placements: Placements are great, if you study hard, you can definitely get a good placement of more than 10 Lacs. There are also many internship opportunities which start in the 3rd year and last till the end of the 4th year. Some companies that visit are Tata, Infosys, Adobe, Amazon, etc. The highest package is 60 LPA and the average is 7 LPA. 90% of students get placement. Internship opportunities are provided from the 3rd year. Infosys, Microsoft, Amazon, Zomato, TCS, Flipkart, Wipro, and many more provide internship opportunities with a stipend.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi all over the campus with CCTV security. The hostel is very affordable, the room infrastructure is great, we have a cooler, 4 beds, 4 study tables, 4 almirahs, 2 big fans, and a decent balcony. The meal is great with snack time every day at 4:00-5:00 PM. The canteen is great, with a vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian menu. Campus life is great. We have clubs like acting, singing, dancing, happiness club, environment club, and events keep happening every month. Sports events and sports arenas are also available for all sports, a gym is also available, and we have a wide range of extracurricular activities.
Faculty: The faculty-to-student ratio is 40 students for 1 teacher. The relationship is great, and the teachers are very helpful. I chose BE Computer Science because here there are labs provided where we can do coding and use it for projects too. The internet connection is also provided so we can do tasks quickly in labs. Curriculum is hard, so it prepares us to be logical and improve our critical thinking in the real world. The course should be a little bit more advanced to include AI. Exams happen every month.

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) - Batch of 2026

A bit cheaper than Chandigarh University.
Placements: Need to mention that Chitkara holds a record of 100% placement. Every student gets placed here. Companies offer anything between 3 LPA and 12 LPA. But you need to study a bit to get placed. Note that a college cannot force a company to recruit students. Companies recruit based on tests and interviews that they conduct. My plans after getting a degree will be to work for the company I've been placed in.
Infrastructure: In terms of books available, there are almost 200 copies of the books that are of regular use. Classrooms are not air-conditioned, but the computer labs are. There is a wide variety of sports in our college, including cricket, basketball, table tennis, badminton, swimming, and many more. There are many clubs also for each activity, like modelling, dance, creativity, etc. There are 3 canteens in our college with a reasonably priced range of items. In short, campus life is really very good in Chitkara.
Faculty: Faculty members are good, they are highly aware of what the students want. They are highly educated and experienced. Talking about the exams. Exams are at an easy-medium level. Just note that everything taught in class will be asked in exams. No topic out of the syllabus will be asked. Exams are quite frequent. We have 3 FA's, 3 ST's, and 1 end-term exam. If you are a below-average student and can spare to study at least 1-1.5 hours a day, you can easily crack all the exams.

CIET
Admission FAQs

Q:   Can I get B.Tech at CIET with 75 percentile in TNEA?
A:

With 75 percentile, you can get some normal courses at CIET. High cut-offs are frequently found in popular fields like computer Science and electronics and communication compared to less popular ones. Lower cut-off scores apply to categories such as SC, ST, and OBC since seats are reserved for them. The total applicant pool and their respective test results may have an impact on the cut-off scores. A factor that also matters is the quantity of seats that CIET has available in your selected branch.

Visit CIET directly to see the cut-off scores for TNEA candidates in your desired branch. Visit the TNEA and CIET websites to obtain this information. Your chances are favourable if your score is higher than or almost as high as the previous year's cutoff for the branch you want.
