B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2019
2.4
This college is absolutely disgusting.
Placements: No student got placed till now from our batch. The lowest salary offered was Rs. 10,000 per month and the highest salary offered was Rs. 12,000 per month. The college doesn't provide any placements. Only 10% of the students got an internship in Nalco company.
Infrastructure: The college does not provide good food. Only rotten eggs and low quality of rice are served. The classrooms and benches are not properly cleaned. Canteen is not good, neither properly cleaned. The medical facility is not available, and they directly take the student to the hospital. Sports and games are optional. Even a sports teacher is not available in the college.
Faculty: Faculty members of our college are good but are changed regularly. Every month faculty members change. The college has optional subjects, but they do not have specific teachers. I would suggest not to opt for this college. The course does not make students industry-ready.

It is an awesome college with well-qualified faculty members and fully-furnished facilities.
Placements: Our college offered 100% placements for our batch. Most of our students got placed, and they are satisfied with the salary package offered by respective companies. The highest salary package offered was 8 LPA and the lowest salary package offered was 3.72 LPA. Most of the companies are IT-based, and for our course, there were companies like L&T, ACC, RAMCO, Royal Infrastructure, Simplex, etc. Every student from our course got their internships in companies like NALCO, Tata Steel, L&T, Jindal Steel, NTPC, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college and hostels were very good. All labs and classrooms were well-designed, and there were hi-tech smart classrooms. There was a central library, and the whole campus is under CCTV surveillance. It is a Wi-Fi enabled campus. Quality of food was pretty good. Gymnasium, football court, badminton court and everything was well-designed and occupied. The scenery of our college was awesome and eco-friendly with every facility.
Faculty: Teaching quality was excellent. Teachers here were helpful to us in everything from academic to personal life. They were well-qualified as well as knowledgeable. This course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready as they were providing us with industrial tours and placement training.
Other: Events and techfests were organised in our college every year. Techfest named Garima was extreme.

It is a bad college ever. Don't take admission in this college.
Placements: Around 50% of the students in our college got placed through placements. Many companies visit our college, but all are fake companies. It is a bad college ever.
Infrastructure: The library is good but small. The quality of the food served is the worst. If you taste it once, you will never go there again.
Faculty: Faculty members here do not provide a good education. They give burden to students. They are changed every year. I strongly recommend you not to take admission in this college. The fee structure is too high, but our course is good. The syllabus is also very tough. Students do malpractice and clear the exams.
Other: The college provides scholarships to SC and ST caste students.

The college has excellent placements and infrastructure.
Placements: Training is provided in personality development, accent training, technical skills, etc. Around 90% of the placements are achieved since the inception of our college. Pre-Placement training not only helped me improve my skills but also gave me very good opportunities. GIET invites recruiters to the campus to experience the learning environment of our institute and to offer challenging opportunities to students.
Infrastructure: The institute hosts world-class facilities including a central library, hostel, transportation, bank and ATM, gym, sports and recreation, computer centre, Wi-Fi and 24*7 security. The canteen provides hygienic food. Hostel rooms are well-furnished. Rooms are cleaned regularly. Internet connection is also available.
Faculty: GIET conducts the faculty development programme regularly. It conducts a 2-day workshop on FDP Sikshak. The institute has got National Education Excellence award in 2016. The college mainly offers three courses, M.Tech, B.Tech and Diploma. It organises seminars, conferences and a workshop on NPTEL regularly.
Other: A seminar called ACMA is organised by the mechanical engineering department. A talk is arranged by Dr Sudip Mishra, an IT professor at IIT, Kharagpur.

It is the worst college with worst campus. Our college facilities and faculty are not good
Placements: our college has the worst campus. I can't take placements from here. When our college itself is not good, it is difficult to assume whether the placements will be good or not. The college is very bad and the staff is not good. I only need a good job where I can grow my career.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is not good. The college is the worst and the campus is very bad. Classrooms and library are very old and broken. College staffs are don't work properly. They are only sitting in their department and enjoy each others company. Our college madams are not good.
Faculty: Teachers of the college are not good. Our faculty members are coming into college and just stay in the department. Our college faculty members are very bad. Our college is getting one of the worst campuses which are spoiling careers of students. I can't take admission in this college at any cost.
Other: All these aspects are not good.

GIET is the key of success.
Placements: For our batch, only a few companies came to our college for recruitment. They focused only on IT students, not on core branches. In civil and mechanical branches, only 2 or 3 companies came for placements. Our senior batch students have got good placements compared to the present batch.
Infrastructure: Our college classrooms are very spacious. Our library has every old and new book for students. The college has a sports ground, it is huge, and every student can play on it. All the laboratories have new instruments.
Faculty: All the faculty members in our college are very helpful and friendly. They are always supportive to the students in every field. The college provided us with every type of course and extra activities like sports, dance, etc. The teaching methods used are advanced.
Other: Our college provides scholarships to students, which is very helpful for the poor students. The college arranges a techfest every year to entertain the students.

Dissatisfied because of bad placements in 2016.
Placements: I got KYP infrastructure Pvt Ltd placements, and my senior batch got some companies like HCL, Gammon India, etc. All percent of students got the job in many other companies. The highest package offered was 3.4 lacs per annum, and the lowest was 1.8 lacs per annum by the companies like KYC, Gammon India, HCl, Infosys, etc., and they offered the roles like an engineer and executer to the students. 50 percent to 80 percent of the students got an internship from the college. The 65 thousand is the highest, 10 thousand is the lowest, and the 20 thousand is the average stipend offered during the internship. There is department wise placement cell, and the college is good, but not more expensive.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi facilities are good on the campus and the hostel. The labs are very nice. The teachers are more helpful. The classrooms are connected with many projectors and teachers makes the student's study through many visualisation effects, the library having good and 24-hour Wi-Fi study are providing. The medical facilities are good, and there is some vehicle providing for them to go to the hospital. Some inter-college sports math are playing, and special playground is provided for them. We are played badminton circuit, and much more games are played on the campus. Excellent quality of labs and classrooms are also there. The quality of food is not better but available in the canteen. The hostel rooms has 3 shares per one room. We did not face any infrastructure related issues during our tenure at the college.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, more qualified, and more knowledgeable. The teachers are good, and they are like a friends. The teaching methods are good. We did not get any industry exposure. The course curriculum is very useful.
Other: The college has more events. Fests are good. The campus crowd is more at function time in the college, and the connectivity is good. The campus surroundings is a fixed area and having a closed boundary. Every student has at least one scholarship. We have extracurricular activities, playing games, and industrial visit.

A quick review of GIET, Bbsr.
Placements: Placement is not very good so far. Good campus drives for IT sector & bad for core. Very poor for civil engineering stream. Some of the placements are fake. But some campus drives are so good that the candidates who got a job got a salary hike in just 9 months.
Infrastructure: Excellent looking from a distance. The entry gate is very beautiful. 24*7 security with CCTV cameras from the entry gate to college. Hostels are inside the college campus. Four hostels for boys and two hostels for girls. All are inside the college campus. Neat & clean classrooms. Air conditioned classrooms aren't available. Play ground should be developed.
Faculty: Very few permanent faculty members. Though fresher faculty members are more in number, they have a lack of experience in teaching. Very few student-friendly faculty members. Very few practical faculty members. They have very little knowledge in field work. Overall, we can say faculty is not the best but it is good.
