SD College is a good Co-ed college. You can think of taking admission in this college.

Placements: Placements are average at SD College. If a student really wants to get a placement and works hard for it, then only they can get a placement. Those students who didn't work hard will not get any placements. According to the 2023 placement data, only 25 students managed to get placement. The highest package offered is 6-7 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 2-2.5 LPA.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of SD College is excellent. The IT building is fully AC centralized, and the library is also amazing. The food available in the mess and canteen is also good. In SD college, a lot of students are interested in sports, so those students who are interested in sports and want to make a career out of it can apply to SD college.

Faculty: Some of teachers are highly qualified in the IT department. The curriculum of the BCA course is a bit old yet relevant. It does not make the student fully industry-ready. The semester exams of PU colleges are easy, but the checking done is too tight. A student has to get 25 marks out of 100 to pass in MST.

Other: I chose this course because I have been interested in computers since childhood. I love doing coding, and I think SD college is good, but it can improve in ways like they can conduct more IT-related competitions, Hackathons, etc. All the extracurricular activities are excellent at SD College.

Management and facilities are good.

Placements: Above 80% of students got placed. The average package is 5 LPA. 75% are placed. Top role offered in my course is data analytics. Excel and other languages are taught for future goodwill as this will help engross us in a good place.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and library all are A1 quality and functional. Hygienic and good food is prepared in canteen too. There is good sitting place to sit and eat food during the free time and have a good overview of the college. Bhangra and various individual sports are also conducted.

Faculty: Teaching quality is up to the mark. Course curriculum is as per the student's need. Semester exams are made in a way that every type of student can get good scores. Teachers are helpful and knowledgeable which helps in a better understanding of the topics.

Other: I chose this course because I want to go into IT field. Various clubs are made and numerous events are conducted with so many extracurricular activities.

Good infrastructure and crowd of SD college.

Placements: 70% of students got placements from our college. The highest package that our college gets is 17 lakh p.a. Companies like Dell, ICICI Bank and Accenture come to our college for placement. 50% students get internships. Roles offered are of IT and banking.

Infrastructure: All the labs have latest windows system. The whole campus has wifi. Our whole department is fully air conditioned . The quality of hostel food is good with separate girls and boys hostels. There are almost all the sports in the college. The library of the college is very huge with availability of computers with internet for students. There is a separate reading room for study for students. All the students study in the library everyday. There is very big ground in the college . It has baseball area, basketball area and area for cricket.

Faculty: All teachers are highly qualified with PhD degrees. The teaching is very good. However, the curriculum is a bit outdated. The subjects we are studying are 10- to 15-year-old outdated technology. The semester exams are quite difficult. The passing percentage is 33%.

Other: SD College is no. 1 for BCA in Chandigarh. With this course, I got to know about technology so much and got so much information. I want the curriculum to be more updated with the study of AI and the internet. Our college hosts multiple events throughout the year. Our annual festival is also very good and people from far-off places come to see this. The crowd is also very good. There are certain scholarships for different students under different categories. The college also participates in various extracurricular activities like youth festivals.

Overall Good College for Pursuing BCA and B.Com; Teachers Are Well Qualified.

Placements: Mainly, companies are coming to our college for B.Com courses, like Deloitte, ICICI Bank, etc. However, for BCA, there are only one or two companies hiring. Till now, only Accenture has come to pick BCA graduates. There is a huge gap in the CTC of B.Com and BCA. For B.Com, the average CTC is 7 to 8 LPA, while for BCA, the maximum LPA is only 3.5 to 4 LPA.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure for the BCA department is very good. The labs and classrooms are well-maintained and fully air-conditioned; otherwise, I have no complaints about the BCA department. Honestly, I am not a hosteler, but my friend is, and the hostel is maintained at an okay level. The canteen is also just okay—not very good, so we prefer to go outside to eat.

Faculty: The teachers are helpful, and all of them are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Their way of teaching is a bit different but understandable. The semester exams are decently tough; most of the questions come from the book, but sometimes the exams are a nightmare. You have to rethink for a whole month about whether you will pass or fail.

Other: I chose this course because I want to make a career in the computer field. Our college hosts one event every year called Virasat, which is decent enough.

A Good to Go College in Chandigarh.

Placements: While most of the student from our course opted for further studies, nearly 30-40% students are placed by Companies like Deloitte, ICICI, Accenture. Other recruiting companies are TCS. As per internships, students have to apply for off-campus internships.

Infrastructure: As per Infrastructure, college is best while comparing to other regional colleges. It has all basic amenities on top off that air-conditioned labs, clean water coolers, ramps for specially abled students, digital library with JAWS software installed in library computers.

Faculty: Teachers are very qualified most of them have completed their masters and PHD. Course curriculum has been updated as per latest NEP policy. Semester exams are easy to score well. I you want to come in rankers than you need to hustle little.

Other: Events and cultural fest are conducted on the yearly basis as well as department wise freshers.

Good infrastructure & facilities but course syllabus is old.

Placements: Some of the most frequent companies that visit our college every year for BCA students are Accenture, ICICI Bank, and some startups. Accenture offers a package of around 3.5 LPA for junior roles, while ICICI offers a starting salary of Rs 45000 per month. Some startups offer packages of around 30-35K per month for Chandigarh postings. Out of a batch of 150 students, on average 10-20 get placed, and the rest either prepare for masters or go into business.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities at Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College are quite good. The labs are air-conditioned, and the computers are modern and have all the necessary software. The buildings are also good, especially the auditorium, which is large and fully air-conditioned. The hostel rooms are average, and the mess food is not that great. GGDSD is not a sports-oriented college, as they focus more on academics. However, they do have a Nescafe coffee shop that serves delicious coffee, and the canteen food is quite average.

Faculty: The syllabus was quite old, so one has to do industry-oriented courses on their own. Most of the teachers were qualified, but they treated their job as a normal government job, and only a few taught with enthusiasm and quality. Semester exams were not difficult, and one can easily score good marks if they start studying at least a month before the exams.

Other: I chose this college because it is the best college in Chandigarh for a Bachelor's degree in Computer Applications. It has a good reputation, and its BCA program has above-average infrastructure, decent labs, and almost all computers are up to date. However, the syllabus is quite old and needs to be updated to be relevant in today's world. The college organizes several fests and events every year, some of which are paid and some are free. Some of the most famous events are "VIRASAT" and "RIWAYAT." The college also organizes several trips to various locations, mainly in Himachal, Amritsar, and Goa.
