Q:   Which one should I prefer for BCom, Hans Raj College or Gujarat University and why?
    A:

If you are planning to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) from India and you have two options I.e. Hansraj College and Gujarat University. I would suggest that you go for Hansraj College as it is affiliated with Delhi University which is regarded as one of the top universities in India. Also, Hansraj College ranks among the top 10 Commerce colleges in India. The study and work culture of this college is very good compared to other colleges. The various facilities provided by Hansraj College are Library, Cafeteria, Sports Complex, Hostel, Wifi, Labs, etc. There are various annual events organized at this college which not only include participation but also the fests are organised by the students themselves. And talking about the placements, various MNCs and domestic companies come for placement at this college which can be very useful.

Placement offered is of lower quality. The club activities and the internships are also good.
Placements: Around 40% of our batch was placed. The highest package was around 30 LPA, and the lowest package was around 3-4 LPA. The average package was around 7 LPA. Top recruiting firms were Bain & Company, Kearney, ZS Associates, LEK Consulting, and DE Shaw. Top roles offered were Associate roles. The percentage of students who got internships from my course was around 70%.
Infrastructure: During my time, there was no girls' hostel, but now it is being constructed. The food available in the mess is very average. Not up to the mark but manageable. The classes are AC. The library is good. There are sports and games rooms and a sports ground.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is relevant and makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are quite difficult because of the comparative marking that is followed. But other than that, the teaching quality is good.
Other: I chose this course because it gives me a variety of options to pursue after completion rather than restricting me to one domain. The course offers club activities, events, good internships, placements, and has reasonable fees.

Good faculty and infrastructure, but the canteen is the worst.
Placements: Placements are impressive in this college, with attractive packages. The highest package for B.Com is expected to range from 3 LPA to 8 LPA. I don’t know the exact names of companies or percentages, as I have only completed my first year. The top roles offered represent various fields.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is good, and the library facilities are amazing, but there is only one Wi-Fi connection that doesn’t work in the classrooms, and the canteen has poor prices and quality. They offer high prices but low-quality food, while the library has three different departments for each stream.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Semester exams are moderate and passing is around 80-90%. The course curriculum makes students industry-ready. Teachers are cooperative as well and always try to make students ready for the future.
Other: I chose this course as for commerce, I found it relevant along with CS. Events and activities are amazing, as there are 70+ societies through which one can work on their hobbies too.

Hansraj is one of the best commerce students at the University of Delhi.
Placements: Great placement opportunities are here in Hansraj. Being a reputed college of North campus, University of Delhi, various companies came here for recruitment like Big 4, microsoft etc. Most of seniors got placed in well companies, having above average and average package. The internship cell and placement cell is very active.
Infrastructure: Hansraj College is one of the beautiful colleges on the North campus. It has a canteen with a minimum price and good quality food, playground, 2 auditoriums, classrooms with AC and projectors, and free Wi-Fi in library. Hostel facilities for both girls and boys. It's 3 blocks, A, B, and C blocks.
Faculty: Faculty members of Hansraj College are very good mentors, guides, and teachers. Most teachers have completed their Ph.D. All teachers are very supportive and cooperative. The course is very relevant to help a person face the cooperative world. Exams are of a moderate level. Everything comes from the syllabus.
Other: In Hansraj College, you will find diversity in the crowd. There are students from almost all the states of India and you will also find foreign students.

I am satisfied with the college. The crowd, the diversity, and everything is good.
Placements: From my batch (the students who are not pursuing their 4th year), approximately 21 percent have secured placements. In total there are about 400 students in the B.Com (Hons) 3rd year. The highest CTC is 22 LPA while the lowest CTC is 5 LPA and the average CTC is 12 LPA. Companies such as ZS, Brain & Co., and DE Shaw are among the recruiters. 53% of students from my course have received internships with companies like Deloitte and Dell. The top roles offered include consulting, analyst positions, finance and HR.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available only in the library which sometimes does not work. The labs are of good quality although there is room for improvement. Classrooms are generally satisfactory but Block classrooms are older and need renovation. Given the class sizes for each course classrooms should be larger. The library is the best aspect, offering a wide range of books across different domains. The administration has implemented some rules that prohibit electronic devices including laptops and smartphones inside the library. I wasn't allotted a hostel at any time and the canteen food is decent. Sports facilities are generally available to all students.
Faculty: Faculty members have always helped address doubts. They are well qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is commendable. The course curriculum is only somewhat relevant and the implementation of the NEP structure has had minimal benefits for us. Instead of providing flexibility, it has created more pressure, making it difficult for students preparing for entrance or other exams to dedicate enough time to their studies. Semester exams are not particularly difficult, except for subjects like Business Maths and Cost Accounting. The pass percentage is 40.
Other: I chose this course due to its placement opportunities and value addition. The key highlight is undoubtedly placement opportunities. I believe that if the NEP structure is revamped, the course would significantly improve. Numerous events are organized throughout the year, and there are few days when an event is not happening. Almost all venues on campus are usually booked. Last year’s fest was decent, but this year’s was disappointing. The campus crowd is decent, reflecting diversity in courses, with seniors, juniors, and occasionally students from other colleges. The college boasts students from almost every state.

    Everything is good and fine.
Placements: 24% of students are placed in this course. The highest package is 28 LPA, the lowest is 5 LPA, and the average is 13 LPA. BCG, Deloitte, and Wipro are the top recruiting companies. Approximately 15% of students get internships from this course in top companies like Deloitte. The top roles offered in this course include Business Consultant, Accountant, and Assistant Accountant.
Infrastructure: Everything is well and good, pretty good Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, library, washrooms, and canteen are everything fine and clean. In the hostel, they provide a neat and clean environment with a good Wi-Fi connection, clean drinking water, and a good mess. There is also a gym with proper equipment and facilities for all games.
Faculty: Teachers are too helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They provide good quality teaching with full potential and support all students in a good manner. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready. It fully depends on the course and teachers who decide to make an exam question paper full of knowledge, sometimes the exams are pretty good and sometimes it is quite difficult, and the passing percentage is quite well range from 60% to 70%.
Other: I chose this course because I love financial terms and consider myself financially enthusiastic. There is nothing that needs to be changed, but sometimes I feel it could be improved further for a better future. Everything is well and good, it's fests, events, or connectivity, the large campus crowd which is a drawback.

The college has good placements and infrastructure. There is a poor fest management.
Placements: Hansraj College offers great placement opportunities. The highest package offered for B.Com (Hons) last year was 23 LPA. Only 60-70% got placed with a median package of 6 LPA. Some of the top recruiting companies are Deloitte, HDFC Bank, EY, KPMG, and many more.
Infrastructure: Talking about the infrastructure of the classrooms, they are fully AC. Some of the rooms are small and less spacious. The library is good but needs to add more seats for the students. Moving to sports, one can see various sports facilities such as a large sports field, badminton court, shooting range, and basketball court in the college.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful and knowledgeable. I am pursuing B.Com (Hons. ). So, some things need to be replaced in the curriculum as they don't provide exposure to real-life industry experience. Semester exams are quite normal, it consists of questions of every level ranging from hard to easy.
Other: I choose this course as I am from a commerce background and look forward to working with corporates. Talking about the event and fest management, it's not good.
