Hindu College is highly regarded.
Placements: Hindu College placements are among the best in North Campus. That is why, even as per NIRF rankings, we are among the top colleges in Delhi. I am not aware of the exact placement figures, as I have just joined the college. B.Com (Hons) students get placements, and my course also has decent placement opportunities.
Infrastructure: Hindu College is right next to St. Stephen's College, and we have a hostel on our campus. Our college has two canteens and a Nescafe kiosk too. The library is comparatively small compared to other colleges, as I have visited various other colleges. Sports facilities are also good. In the indoor sports room, there is a TT table, and I love playing there.
Faculty: I won't say so far, so good, as our faculty members are known to be among the best in India. A doctorate is one thing, but showing character that helps connect with students is another aspect. Our faculty members have found that connection. In just 2 months, I have happily made really good connections with them.
Other: From what I heard about the crowd at Hindu College, I find it even better. The main events of the college will be in the next semester, but so far, from orientation to traditional day, I have enjoyed both events at Hindu College.

Great faculty and students.
Placements: As a first-year student, I don't have first-hand experience of how the placement process works at Hindu College, Delhi University. But the placement cell is active. It constantly encourages students to pursue placements in the fields they are interested in.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are satisfactory, but the ACs don't work in all classrooms. The Wi-Fi is not good enough for students to access it everywhere. The library is excellent, but its timings need more flexibility. The boys' hostel is still under construction but will soon be open, according to the administration. The girls' hostel is in good condition.
Faculty: Faculty is extremely helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable in their fields. All coursework follows NEP guidelines. The core courses are interesting, and teachers encourage an interdisciplinary approach. However, courses like VAC, ARC, and SEC are cumbersome and tedious for students.

Infrastructure could be way better, but it has very good faculty members.
Placements: As a fresher, I am not very aware of this. Hence, I would give an average 3-star rating. I have heard of seniors getting good placements, but I am not very sure about it. I do need to educate myself. We have a placement cell and internship cell in the college, which help out students.
Infrastructure: My department, specifically, has classes in a very poorly air-conditioned room. Only this room is in such condition. Other rooms are in good condition. The benches and desks are comfortable. Wi-Fi does not work, and the water is chlorinated. The canteen is good. The library is good, but timings are a problem.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good for our course. Except for a very few problematic things. Like maybe justifying dowry in class. Otherwise, the course design and faculty are very good. Professors are very approachable, very flexible with internal assessment, and good at teaching.

A brief review of Hindu College.
Placements: Placements are nice at Hindu College, given its NIRF 1 ranking. However, other courses get more placement opportunities. English department students also get nice chances to do internships and jobs at multinational companies. So, it's nice.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very nice. The campus is modern, and digital options are available. The library is the best part. The quality of the hostel is also very nice. I like my hostel. Rooms are well furnished and AC-equipped. Food is average but better than PGs. So it's fine.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. The curriculum is also relevant. It's interesting to study. I like it. Semester exams are also nice. But there is study pressure regarding continuous assessment and internal assessment. But overall, it's fun to study and interact.

Lowkey satisfied with the vibrant culture, exposure, and supportive teachers.
Placements: Since I'm in English Honours, most people don't come to this course to get placed. They already have a plan to pursue further education. But I have heard of some students getting placed, although I doubt that the packages offered are very high. Apart from that, of course, there are the students who go on to work in newspapers and journalism directly after their Bachelor's.
Infrastructure: The college has one 4-floored library, which has a pretty extensive collection of books. Wi-Fi is provided, although it is quite weak. We have classrooms, but some of the ACs don't work that well. There are two canteens, and the canteen food is hygienic and cost-efficient and does not lack in variety. Personally never tested out the medical facilities (hopefully I don't have to). The college has a volleyball court, though there is much to be desired in it. It has a pretty nice basketball court, and a ground where people presumably play football and cricket.
Faculty: Professors are great. They're knowledgeable. Most of them have distinct but interactive teaching styles. The idea of "relevancy" of a curriculum on literature can be highly contentious, and our courses aren't built to make anyone "industry-ready".

Average facilities, academic excellence, and future of the English Department of Hindu College.
Placements: In my course, a lot of people opt for higher studies, exchange programs, and competitive exams. So placements are not quite popular. Students generally go for jobs like content writing, publishing, PR, etc., which are freelancing jobs. Salary packages offered are around 3 LPA - 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: The department provides facilities like AC, spacious rooms, adequate seating, etc. Although there is a university-installed Wi-Fi, it does not function well. The library is supplied with the latest technical equipment, AC, and Wi-Fi. The hostel provides average food, with three meals being served per day. Medical facilities in the hostel are enough only to address immediate needs and provide first aid. There is a badminton court and games available, but the equipment is not upto the mark.
Faculty: Teachers in the English department are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They are always willing to help and sort out problems. The course provides insight into English Literature as a whole, focusing on different time periodS as well as geographical areas. The difficulty level of semester exams is not that high. The pass percentage of my batch so far is 100%.
Other: The best thing about my course is that it is academically rigorous. Assignments and classroom discussions are intellectually stimulating. However, introducing some form of industry learning can make the experience better. The English department holds weekly seminars, an annual fest, and many other engaging and vibrant events.

Hindu College review in short.
Placements: There are nice recruitment opportunities through courses. Moreover, the placement cell and societies help a lot. The placement cell can help you get recruited by some amazing companies. It also helps you build connections along the way, which can be useful in the future. The sessions hosted across departments can help you engage with experts.
Infrastructure: The library is amazing, with 4 floors that include a wide variety of books, computers, and an e-library. There is also a big space available for reading and studying. The Wi-Fi works great for me, but students can face problems depending on their SIM. The canteen food is also good for the cost.
Faculty: Faculty in the English Department is amazing. All teachers are very helpful and passionate about their subjects. You can tell they love their job by the way they interact with students. They really help you understand the text and go beyond it as well. The lectures are really insightful if you pay attention.

Expected life at Hindu College.
Placements: Placements in general are nice. But particularly for the English domain, they are not good. Very few people get placed from our department. The average salary package offered is 10 LPA. Majorly, management and creative roles like content writing are offered in our course. For internships, it is very unlikely because only a few companies come, and they select mainly students from B.Com or Eco.
Infrastructure: English department is the oldest department and has good classrooms with AC. However, the classes for second and third years are comparatively smaller than first year. We have two canteens in our college, both serve good food. They are affordable, but when compared with other DU colleges, prices are a bit expensive. We have a medical room in case of any illness. There is a sports complex, ground, and a gym for sports people.
Faculty: Everyone says professors in college don't care about students. but in my case, professors of English deoartment as really good. They want students to grow. They are highly qualified, and each one of them has their own unique way of teaching. The course curriculum is relevant because it not only covers English but history, politics, sociology and many more. Semester exams are quite difficult but it also depends on particular paper. Some are really easy, whereas some are not. Nearly the entire class pass the exams.
Other: The atmosphere of Hindu College is really good. The campus makes you feel at home. The crowd is good,, and there are a lot of events that keep happening. It has a campus experience that is really fun and gives you exposure. By the end of it, you will fall in love with Hindu College.
