To get admitted to HITAM University, the minimum requirement is that a candidate must have a valid EAMCET scorecard. The Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test is administered by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) (EAMCET). This is an online exam for several professional programmes offered by universities in Andhra Pradesh. Candidates must either have passed the last year of the State Board of Technical Education and Training's engineering Diploma examination or have shown equivalent proficiency in maths, physics, and chemistry during their 10+2 education in order to be eligible to take the entrance exam. Alternatively, candidates must have taken the exam.

Yes, candidates can get admission to regular BTech courses at HITAM on the basis of merit. According to the information available on the official website of the institute, HITAM offers 30% of the management seats in the BTech course on the basis of merit. Rest, 70% of seats are filled through the EAPCET, followed by counseling. For merit-based admission, candidates can apply directly through the official website of the institute. However, in merit-based admission, candidates might be required to go through a written test, followed by a PI.
