MBA admission at IIM Jammu begin with applying for CAT. Eligible candidates can follow the steps given below for IIM Jammu admission to the MBA programmes.
1. Entrance Exam
The first in the IIM Jammu MBA admission process is registering for an accepted entrance exam. Admission in IIMs is through CAT only. Thus, the aspirants have to register and apply for the entrance test online (iimcat.ac.in). Alternatively, those who have qualified for GATE, GRE, GMAT, JRF (UGC/CSIR) or UGC-NET examinations can also apply in the relevant area of specialisation.
2. Selection Process
Based on the entrance exam scores, candidates are called for Personal Interviews (PI). The 10 IIMs together conduct Personal Interviews (PI) through the Common Admission Process (CAP 2025). In addition to the Common Admission Process, IIM Jammu will conduct an additional Supplementary Admission Process (SAP 2025) for candidates who meet IIM Jammu PI shortlisting criteria but do not meet the CAP 2025 cut-off criteria.
3. Merit List
A merit list containing the names of the shortlisted candidates is prepared based on entrance exam score (40% weightage), PI (30% weightage), academic qualification and relevant work experience (30% weightage). The shortlisted candidates are then sent admission offers via email.
4. Offer Acceptance & Fee Payment
A candidate receiving an admission offer from IIM Jammu has to pay the offer acceptance fee within the stipulated date. It is called the offer acceptance fee of INR 50,000 and is later adjusted against the Term I fee. Other fee components include tuition fees, caution deposits, one-time fees, etc.
