Great overall college for fundamental sciences and engineering research.

Placements: Not a lot of people sit for interviews. If you are a decent student, companies will definitely consider you, you just need to have the corporate aptitude. No official data regarding highest or lowest package to my knowledge but I have heard the average is around 18 LPA. Companies like Nomura have been coming for some years now. Most of the students in my course have gone for internships at academic institutes, and only one or two have gone for corporate internships. I know two who have gone to TCS for internships. Mostly, students in my course pursue doctoral positions.

Infrastructure: The department facilities are excellent. Everything is well maintained and used to its full potential. The hostel is a bit small but new hostel is under construction. Mess is the same as every other college mess in this country, but slightly better. The shops are great, and have a lot of things/foods to offer. Excellent medical facilities and quick response in my experience. Sports facilities are good. But there are some sports for which the permanent grounds are yet to be constructed.

Faculty: Professors are quite helpful and experts in their field. In my department, all of them are really passionate about teaching. The teaching quality is on par with the best institutes in this country. Course curriculum, for the pov of a math degree, is way ahead of its time and quite updated, the electives are quite good and diverse. I won't say they are the best of sorts if someone wants to join the industry but they can help with the problem-solving acumen. No fixed passing grade. Semester exams are moderately difficult.

Other: I love studying math, hence I chose this course. The course is up to date and really helps you build up that temperament for problem-solving. The course in itself is near perfect.

A developing research institute in Central India for sciences.

Placements: For students of natural sciences, the placement opportunities are quite low as compared to economics and engineering students. However, due to the presence of departments like Maths and Physics, people can get some offers if they possess relevant skills.

Infrastructure: The hostel facilities are excellent if you get H8 or the new hostel being built in front of Ideation. But if you get old hostels like H6 or H7, the infrastructure is not that good. The rooms were originally for single occupancy and were later converted into double occupancies, resulting in less space for you and your roommate.

Faculty: Talking about the Mathematics department of IISERB, it's quite controversial. The department has a good number of faculty members, but the quality may vary. The students opting for a Maths major are very few compared to other departments. Many students, even some good ones, face academic issues after opting for a major in Mathematics. The primary reason is some rude professors and their strict marking system. Backlog students are much more in the Maths department, making it produce fewer graduates each year than other departments.

Other: I chose the course because I am pursuing Science as my career. The best thing about the BSMS program is that students get to know the ground realities of Science, such as how things are discovered or how research is done. One might want to check the details of each faculty member they are interested in pursuing a major with. According to the specialties of the topics one wants to do a thesis in, they can either join IISERB or another institution.
