Inside the best 3rd gen IIT.

Placements: Almost every student got placed, while the others opted for start-up or higher studies. Top recruiting companies are Amazon, Infosys, Paytm, AIR Asian, Oracle, Zepto, Mathworks, Texas Instruments, etc. They offer placements. The average package is around 16-20 LPA. The highest package has been 52 LPA, and the lowest is 8 LPA. Internships are available in companies like Amazon, Texas Instruments, JIO, Arista Network, etc. Top roles offered are SDE and product manager.

Infrastructure: The college has an amazing hostel with a fully air-conditioned mess, Wi-Fi, and power backup. The college has facilities like basketball, badminton, table tennis, fuss ball and 3 common rooms with a capacity of 100 students in each hostel. Every wing has 3 washing machines. The indoor facility has badminton, squash, volleyball, and a gym. Temporary grounds for cricket and football and a helipad. The medical facilities are very efficient with 24/7 working and an ambulance just a call away.

Faculty: The college has an amazing academic structure. Teacher-student ratio of 1:10 and maintains a good balance between studies and extracurricular activities. Professors with impeccable academic records. Sports coaches here are not just skilled but highly supportive. Whether a student is a beginner or a pro, the coaches have them covered.

Other: The college provides a bus service for students traveling to the city or railway station. Our annual tech fest, PARSEC, has been a highly successful event and is eagerly anticipated by students. Multiple workshops and technical competitions are held, featuring a significant prize pool. We receive participants from various colleges across the state. The annual cultural fest, HarshtaaL, takes place at the end of March. Yearly events, including sports, tech, and cultural competitions such as the general championship (inter-hostel and inter-branch), are organized to allow students to showcase their hidden talents.

I think, as a 3rd Gen IIT student, the placements are improving from year to year.

Placements: In my course, CSE, 60 students are there in total for 1st-year students, with two sections, S1 and S2, 160 students in each section. As a first-year student, I did not know much about placements, but as a 3rd-generation IIT student, it is the best of all. The average package is 21 LPA for CSE.

Infrastructure: Nice buildings, nice hostel, nice mess, nice roads, nice gym, nice indoor stadium, nice people, nice staff, good atmosphere, environment, nice college, nice people, nice atmosphere for the library, and a very good library, nice chairs in the library, very high-class library.

Faculty: Good faculty, nice qualified teachers, and Ph.D. teachers from prospective IITs. The courses for the first year are very relevant, and the exams are quite difficult, but you can do with minimum preparation day by day. Exams are quizzes, midsem, and endsem exams.

Other: As a first-year student, the fresher's party is the only event conducted till now, but there are other courses and activities as told by seniors.

Campus life at IIT Dharwad.

Placements: Around 75–80% of students were placed; the highest package offered was 55 LPA, which was offcampus. The highest on-campus package offered was 40 LPA, with an average package of around 12–14 LPA. The major recruiting companies were CRED, Google, Intel and Wipro. Many of the remaining students go for higher studies. The placements are pretty much on a decent level and are getting better year after year. As it's a new IIT, it will require some time to get at par with the level of holder IITs in terms of placement and reputation.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure here is amazing. As it's a new IIT, it's hostels are far better than the holder IITs. The hostels are equipped with good Wi-Fi but sometimes there may be temporary network issues. The classrooms here are well furnished and equipped with all the necessities required. Mess food is above average, and there is also a night canteen that remains open till 3:00 am. Our campus's main motto is to make it a " Net Zero Campus," which will be self-sufficient for water and electricity and waste management for which it is termed "GREEN IIT.". The only thing missing on this campus is playgrounds, for which we need to go to the temporary campus, for which buses are scheduled by the institute. The sports that are available in the sports complex are badminton, squash, table tennis, and of course indoor games like carrom, ludo and chess.

Faculty: Teachers here are amazing and highly qualified, with many years of teaching experience in other IITs, and the curriculum here is relevant. But there is a strict attendance policy of 80% mandatory attendance; failure to achieve this results in a DX grade and the student has to repeat this course again. The level of exams here is on a bit tougher side, but can be handled if someone attends classes regularly and attentively.

Our college got good placements, but slightly dissatisfied with the mess.

Placements: For CSE, the placements are a lot better than other branches. The highest package is 52 LPA, the lowest package is 8 LPA, and the average package is 12 LPA. The top recruiting companies for my course are Google, Amazon, etc. The top roles offered in my course are data analyst, etc.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is best compared among new generation IIT. The hostel facilities are good. We have a very good atmosphere to study in hostel rooms. But we don't have a permanent ground to play. We should go to a temporary campus to play sports like cricket and volleyball.

Faculty: The faculty at IIT Dharwad are knowledgeable and have a lot of experience. For the CS branch, the course curriculum is somewhat irrelevant for the 1st semester, where we have credit for biology and chemistry. But from then on, the course curriculum is relevant to the branch. The pass percentage is about 95 percent.

Placements are satisfying for CSE students.

Placements: Approximately 80 percent of students are placed. The highest package was 55 lakh from CSE. Top recruiting companies like Google, Flipkart came for the CSE course. I don't know anything about internships and roles, but various workshops are conducted in the college.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the hostels and CLT is very good. Mess food is neither bad nor good. Medical facilities are much better. Sports facilities are good, but some are under development. Wi-Fi is good, but sometimes it runs very poorly. Classrooms are good, but labs and libraries are very poorly developed.

Faculty: All faculties here are good and well-knowledgeable. Teaching quality is average and provides the required amount of knowledge. The curriculum is relevant, but it doesn't make the students competitive; it has to be improved. The semester exams are of a good level. Some of the papers are easy, while some of the papers are of medium to hard level. The passing percentage is between 20 to 35 percent.

Really good infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: I think nearly half students registered for the course are placed. It's even less than a half. Some people went for higher studies. Still the placement drive is going on. Highest is around 50 LPA. Yeah top companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Meta do come for recruitment. Moreover degree doesn't matter, all that matters are skills which you can acquire through hands on and is good at IITs.

Infrastructure: Computer science and engineering is a very good course in IIT Dharwad and since it is a new built campus, the hostel is very nice. The classrooms and library are very extraordinary. My favorite part is library and its facilities. The cost of food in canteen is quite reasonable. The mess food is manageable.

Faculty: Teachers help a lot, they are knowledgeable. The quality is good. I think the course and curriculum makes students industry ready since we have many leisure hours a day, we can engage in ourselves doing many courses and do self learning which is very important. The semester exams are quite difficult since it is IIT.

Other: Since my interest is to pursue a good career in tech that is why I chose CSE as my preference and the emerging technologies will really change the world a lot. Extracurricular activities are good and there are many clubs which help us in doing projects.

Good infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: The highest package offered is 50 LPA from CRED and 46 LPA from Accenture, Japan. The average package is around 12 LPA to 15 LPA for CSE. Top recruiters are Texas Instruments, UiPath, Amazon, Google, D.E. Shaw, etc. Many of these are off-campus opportunities. Top roles offered are software developer, back-end developer, applied scientist, etc.

Infrastructure: There are 2 computer labs with over 200 capacity, a high-performance computing (HPC) server for AI and ML tasks. Classrooms are well-maintained, spacious, and equipped with good speakers, projectors, etc. Wi-Fi is available in all buildings. Library is good, there is a whole floor with comfortable chairs, sofas, and desks where you can work and study 24X7. Canteen food is affordable and good, while mess food is average. Sports facilities and coaches are available for badminton, basketball, football, cricket, squash, table tennis, etc. Medical facilities are available at the wellness center, which is a 15-minute walk away from the hostel. There is also a dedicated ambulance available on campus.

Faculty: Professors have good knowledge and are approachable. The curriculum for our course is relevant and covers topics asked in most interviews and competitive exams. Semester exams are a mixture of difficult questions and some basic ones that can be solved by referring to class notes and video lectures.

Good placements and best quality facilities available for the students.

Placements: IIT Dharwad offers multiple placements opportunities to its students. Approximately 70-75% of the students gets successfully placed in our course. Average package offered in our college was between 3-8 LPA. Top recruiters at this college were TCS, Oracle, Wipro, Infosys, Teach Mahindra etc.

Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available at the IIT Dharwad for the computer Science course was very good. College was providing all the modern facilities to its students for their interactive learning and development. College was having big campus with facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, library, canteen, classrooms, sports ground etc. For the students. Hostel facilities were also of good quality.

Faculty: IIT Dharwad was having both the permanent and guest faculty in our course. All the professors of the college were highly qualified and knowledgeable. Teachers at this college were helpful, supportive and experienced. Course curriculum for our course was relevant and it makes the students industry ready. Semester exams of the college were tough to pass.
