After JEE session 2 is completed, only those candidates who are aiming for IITs need to start preparing for JEE Advanced after clearing JEE Main. Those who are above the 98th percentile should start preparing for JEE Advanced as soon as possible. Those below this, between the 95th and 98th percentile, should focus on attempting more mock tests and previous year question papers so that they have a better chance of clearing JEE Advanced

IIT Gandhinagar highest package data is not released by the Institute. According to the data available, branch-wise average and median package offered during BTech and MTech placements 2025 are mentioned below:

IIT Gandhinagar placements 2025 were good. The consolidated placement report 2025 is not released. As per limited available, the average and median package recorded during BTech CSE placement 2025 was 23.21 LPA and 21.5 LPA. The placement rate recorded in BTech CSE, CL and and ME branch was 86.05%, 73.33% and 79.49%.

The overall placement rate recorded during IIT Gandhinagar placements 2024 for UG programmes was 82.39%. In 2023, UG placement rate was 81%.

Above 200 offers were accepted during IIT Gandhinagar placements 2024. As per official data, more than 80% of the offers were made by the Core sector.

 Candidates seeking admission to BTech at IIT Gandhinagar are expected to qualify both JEE Main and JEE Advanced and further go through JoSAA counselling to secure admission. However, getting final admission only on the basis of JEE Main score, is not possible. In addition, to be eligible for the BTech programme, candidates must have passed their Class 12 with 75% aggregate. Hence, while JEE Main is the most important starting point to get into IIT Gandhinagar for the flagship course, it is not the only criteria for it. 

IIT Gandhinagar admission process is entirely based on the selection of candidates via popular entrance exams such as JEE Advanced and GATE, etc., for courses such as BTech and MTech, respectively. Further, IIT Gandhinagar conducts an institute-level test for the selection MA and PhD courses. Candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria as per the course requirements and then qualify for the respective entrance exam in order to secure a seat at IIT Gandhinagar. Later on, the final seat allotment is done through counselling process.

As per the information available on the official website of JoSAA 2025, the semester-wise IIT Gadhinagar hostel fee is INR 17,250 (this includes hostel seat rent, utilities, etc.). A mess and laundry advance fee of INR 21,000 is also required to be paid by the students admitting to a four-year full-time BTech course at IIT-G. 

The average package recorded during IIT Gandhinagar BTech placements 2025 for CSE was 23.21 LPA. For EE and CL, it was 23.88 LPA and 17.52 LPA. In ME and CE branch, average package was 14.55 LPA and 12.4 LPA.

IIT Gandhinagar BTech cutoff 2024 has been released across multiple specialisations. Based on the Round 1 seat allotment, the BTech cutoff scores ranged between 1576 and, 10165 for the General AII India category students. Among all the BTech specialisations, BTech in CSE is the most competitive specialisation. So, considering the round 1 cutoff, candidates seeking admission to Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar must secure a maximum rank upto 10165.
