The Science and the HSS Department of IIT Kharagpur started four-year BSc programme admission to which is subject to a valid rank in JEE Advanced exam.  Aspirants seeking IIT Kharagpur BSc and Integrated MSc admission need to qualify for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams to get shortlisted. For eligibility, candidates are required to have completed their Class 12 with a minimum of 75% aggregate. Those who would like to earn an MSc degree are given the option to do so at the end of the sixth semester of the BSc programme. Accordingly, the seventh and eighth semesters are planned so that a candidate gets an MSc degree at the end of the tenth semester.

Candidates aiming for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) need to meet these cutoff marks in JEE Mains to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026.

IIT Kharagpur offers a four-year BSc course along with a five-year Integrated MSc course across six specialisations each. Yes, the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur's Vinod Gupta School of Management offers a two-year MBA degree to students. The modes of IIT Kharagpur admission are online and offline. Admission to various courses including MBA is based on merit and scores of entrance tests. Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur is ranked 14 by NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) 2023 under the Management category.

Note that the IIT graduates having CGPA of 8.0 or above will be eligible for direct admission at IIT Kharagpur without a GATE score 2023. The institute has scrapped the written tests/interviews of shortlisted candidates. The admissions will be conducted on the basis of the GATE 2023 score only.

IIT Kharagpur offers a joint MTech/ MCP PhD programme to students who have completed their UG degree in the relevant stream. Those who do not qualify for PhD can continue with their two-year MTech/MCP programme. In order to study in IIT Kharagpur's BArch programme, you must first clear JEE Advanced and participate in JoSAA Counselling. The admission of a candidate to the PhD programme of IIT Kharagpur is conducted by the Departmental Academic Committee (Post-Graduate and Research), abbreviated as DAC (PG&R), of the Department/Centre concerned, on the basis of
