No, admissions in IIT Kharagpur without entrance exam is not possible. The modes of IIT Kharagpur course admissions are both online & offline. Admission to various courses is based on merit & scores of entrance tests. The accepted entrance exams are GATE,  JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and others.

The last round cutoff ranks among the General AI category candidates varied between 466 and 19141. Therefore, to get admission to the college irrespective of the course specialisation, candidates must have a rank of 19141 or below if belonging to the General AI category. Yes, IIT Kharagpur does accept GATE scores for admission to its M.Tech programme. Applicants must have a valid GATE score relevant to the discipline of their qualifying degree. In cases where there is no specific GATE paper available for a particular discipline, XE/XL/XH papers of the GATE examination can be considered. GATE is the accepted entrance exam for admission to IIT Kharagpur's M.Tech programme.
