IIT Palakkad Admission Process 2025
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Palakkad admission 2025 is entrance-based for all the courses. The IIT Palakkad offers a list of courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. It is mandatory to have minimum 75% marks (65% for reserved category) in class 12 to take admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Students should apply for JoSAA conselling only if they fulfill all conditions of eligibility. However many institutes admit students on basis of JEE Main where there is no requirement of minimum marks in class 12.
The students must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria for admissions into M.Tech course. They must have a valid GATE exam score. Also, they must be Indian nationals. In courses where GATE exam is not considered, students must have one of these:
1. Four- year UG degree in Engineering/Technology in Computer Science and Engineering
2. A four-year UG degree in BE/Btech or MSc in Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics along with GATE qualification in DA/CS/EC/EE.
The dates for JoSAA counselling 2026 choice filling will be announced once the result of JEE Main 2026 is declared. Candidates can fill choices only during the choice filling period. Also, candidates need to lock their choices before the last date.

Yes, IIT Palakkad offers a two-year MTech programme in six specialisations. These specialisations are Geotechnical Engineering and Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Manufacturing and Materials Engineering, Computing and Mathematics, Data Science, Power Electronics and Power Systems and System-on-Chip Design. To be eligible for the MTech programme at IIT Palakkad candidates need graduation with 60%. The selection of the candidates who are eligible for the MTech programme happens through GATE and COAP Counselling.
