IIT Palakkad admission procedure varies as per the courses. Only the candidates who fulfil the basic eligibility criteria can apply. IIT Palakkad Application Process

- MSc candidates must register for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM). Admission to each of the MSc courses will be offered to those who qualified in the exams and appear for the JAM counselling process.
- For PhD and MS students are required to apply via the official website of IIT Palakkad. Candidates must register and fill out the application form online.

Next candidates are required to go through the selection process which requires candidates to go through the course-based entrance exam followed by other selection rounds (if applicable). After the selection rounds are completed, they are required to go through the course-wise counselling process for final seat allocation. For PhD and MS, IIT Palakkad conducts its own written test and personal interview for selection.

The students must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria for admissions into M.Tech course. They must have a valid GATE exam score. Also, they must be Indian nationals. In courses where GATE exam is not considered, students must have one of these:
1. Four- year UG degree in Engineering/Technology in Computer Science and Engineering
2. A four-year UG degree in BE/Btech or MSc in Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics along with GATE qualification in DA/CS/EC/EE.
IIT Palakkad MTech Admission 2026
MTech is a two-year course offered at the PG level in the Engineering field. IIT Palakkad offers MTech in six specialisations such as Data Science, System on Chip Design, Computing & Mathematics, Manufacturing & Material Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, and Electronics & Power Systems. To be eligible for the MTech programme the candidates need to take the GATE exam and clear the cutoff. The MTech programmes offered by IIT Palakkad need the candidates to have a minimum of 60% in their BTech/BE degree.

There are no separate application fees for Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad admissions though students must pay a registration fee of INR 300 up enrollment after admissions. Students must also pay the required entrance exam's own separate registration fees to the conducting body.
