Yes, IIT Ropar has eight hostels,  six for boys (Satlej, Beas, Sindhu, Mercury, Jupiter, and Neptune) and two for girls (Ravi, Venus) to house approximately 3000 students. IIT Ropar is a residential institute; therefore, all the students are required to reside in the hostels. All the hostel rooms are spacious and have all the basic furniture, such as a study table, chair, cupboard, single bed, etc. The rooms are allocated on a single and double occupancy basis. IIT Ropar hostels consist of dedicated rooms for recreational activities, providing a holistic environment for the students.

IIT Ropar campus caters to the sports needs of students. It has a cricket ground, football ground, hockey ground, badminton court, basketball court, and tennis court for outdoor activities. The institute also has an indoor facility for table tennis. The institute has a huge sports complex with plenty of sports options to encourage students to participate in indoor and outdoor sports activities. IIT Ropar has a large number of prestigious engineering courses in different specializations that attract students from all around. The flagship BTech program is one of the sought-after courses at the campus. The BTech programme is offered by the IIT Ropar faculty with branches like Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and several others. Various top-name companies visit the campus during placements season to recruit the best of talent from BTech students.

BTech is the flagship course of many IITs such as IIT Ropar. At the postgraduate level, Ropar IIT offers two to five-year MTech in different specialisations and a two-year MSc in various specialisations. The IIT Ropar also offers PhD courses to students.
