MTech at IIT Ropar is a PG-level course offered in the full-time mode. IIT Ropar fees are cumulative of  components such as one-time payment, tuition fees, hostel charges and more. The tuition fees for MTech at the institute is INR 34,000 for two years. The hostel fee amount to INR 37,200. Additionally, selected candidates must pay a one-time fee at the time of admission. This fee amounts to INR 16,550. The mentioned fees have been sourced from the official website of the institute/sanctioning body. It is still subject to change and hence, is indicative.

If you cleared the cutoff with a bad score of 38 or 39 for the GATE examination. You can look for other options as mentioned below:

·       You can check the cutoff norms for a variety of institutions, as each institution has its own set of criteria for cutoff scores. For some institutions, even a cutoff of 38 and 29 could be considered for admissions. Make sure to do a complete analysis of the institution you are applying to and the cutoff score they accept.

·     Try applying for both top-ranked and lower-ranked institutions if you have a poor score to increase your chances of admission.

·       While a good GATE score is vital for admissions, it's not the only criterion that can be considered by institutions; many also look at your academic record, employment experience, general aptitude and personality. Therefore, to boost your chances, try highlighting these areas.

·       You can also reconsider re-taking the GATE examination again next year with better focus and preparation.

The overall average package received during IIT Ropar PG (MTech and MSc) placements 2025 was INR 11.98 LPA. Earlier, the average package received during placements 2024 and 2023 was INR 11.96 LPA and INR 13.31 LPA, respectively.

Those candidates who are aiming for admission to ECE at IIT Ropar cannot avail this course as it was not offered in 2024. However, under the acquired rank of 7000, candidates can opt for Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering Physics, and Chemical Engineering programs. Further, as per the IIT Ropar cutoff 2024 for JEE Advanced, the cutoff rank for aforementioned courses for the General AI category candidates stood at 8836, 10097, and 11365, respectively.

Under the acquired rank of 12000, candidates cannot get admission for OBC Female category. First of all, IIT Ropar do not release its cutoffs based on Gender and State-level quota. Considering the IIT Ropar cutoff 2024 for JEE Advanced, the required rank should be under 1084 and 4968 for the OBC AI quota. So, 12000 is not enough rank to secure a seat at IIT Ropar.
