Integrated MS-PhD includes a two-year MS programme after which candidates can pursue a PhD course. The integrated PhD program consists of two years of coursework and research projects. Qualifying students can then go on to do a PhD at the institute under the guidance of any faculty member. Under normal circumstances, the integrated PhD program saves a year for the student as the course work enables them to progress at a much faster pace than a student in a typical MS/ PhD program. Integrated MS-PhD is offered in four specialisations. Admission to the course is carried out once a year. Applications are invited in March of each year through an advertisement on the IISER Mohali website.

Total fee: INR 3.93 lakh*

*SC/ ST candidates are exempted from paying the tuition fee.

Note: The above fee given for seven years, includes the hostel fee and is exclusive of mess charges. 

Eligibility: A pass in bachelor's degree in Science and related areas with at least 60% aggregate or CGPI 6.0 on a scale of 10.

Selection criteria: Interview/ screening test and any one of the following:

• NBHM Masters or PhD scholarship for Mathematics
• Rank in JEST examination for Physics
• DST INSPIRE fellowship or KVPY scholarship
• Rank in IIT JAM for the chosen specialisation

IISER Mohali Integrated PhD Scholarships

The institute provides a fellowship to integrated PhD students. The fellowship would normally be available for four years from the date of successful completion of the comprehensive examination.
