M.Pharma. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry - Batch of 2026
4.4
Really good infrastructure and facilities, and very supportive teachers.
Placements: Almost all of the students get placed by their Training and Placement Cell (TPC) with a fair amount of packages as their starting salary, around 3-4 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Granules India, AstraZeneca, Sun Pharma, etc. come to the university every year. Also, many internship programs are provided by the department in many of the fields (apart from your core field). Top roles offered are in the R&D section, production, QA/QC, etc.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are very spacious and clean. Projectors are there for a better understanding of concepts through slides. However, classrooms are not air-conditioned but are well-managed with full-range Wi-Fi connectivity. The library is very huge with almost all sorts of books covering every department. Hostels are well-managed, neat, and clean, with good quality food in the mess and canteens. There is a very huge ground, IIT Gymkhana, for the practice of many games like cricket, football, hockey, etc.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, well-qualified, and extremely knowledgeable. Their talent and passion reflect in their teaching ability. The course curriculum is relevant to the subjects we are studying, and in the 2nd year, we get to work on a project under a supervisor. After that, students are ready to work in industries after proper training. Semester exams are competitive but can be excelled if studied with concentration and focus.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to pursue higher studies after my graduation in B. Pharma, and I want to enter the research field in the drug discovery section. The best thing about this course is that it provides deep knowledge about medicine and its chemistry. Many sports, cultural, and DJ night events are held regularly on the university campus every year, with a large crowd participating in them.

Discontinued (Mar 2023)- Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharma.) - Batch of 2022

Our college is great with the biggest campus in India.
Placements: Our institute provides good placements but students have to prepare well for the aptitude. The average salary package is 8 LPA - 9 LPA. The placement cell is great. Students can get jobs in any sector.
Faculty: Exams are easy to pass in our course. Teachers are great and friendly. They teach students very well.
Other: Our institute gives the best campus life to students. The city is amazingly vivid in culture. Initially, students find it hard to adjust to the campus. Students fall in love with the same crowded streets, narrow streets, the nocturnal deafening, and deadly silence in the ghats. Our campus turns into an infinitely silent and beautiful abode at night.

Discontinued (Mar 2023)- Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharma.) - Batch of 2021
4.4
It is one of the best colleges in India.
Placements: Placements for UG and PG students are great. The placement cell is doing a great job. As per the IIT rule, the minimum salary package is permissible for on-campus hiring is 2.5 LPA. Many companies visit our college for both UG and PG students, and there is no restriction on the branch. I suggest if you have caliber, just sit for a placement session.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are highly qualified and experienced. Professors are very much helpful in assessing the course. Faculty has worldwide experience. Faculty not only teach us, but they also do research as well. They routinely go to national and international conferences and participate in many workshops along with their scholars. The overall course is divided into two semesters, and the rest two semesters are reserved for research and thesis work means the first two semesters with examination and the rest two just for dissertation and Viva. Subjects are based on the credit system, which makes the course overall interesting because the high credit subjects make a high impact on CPI or CGPI.
Other: I have chosen this course because the department of pharmaceutics is the first pharmacy college in India. The department was established in 1932 by Professor ML Schroff, who is also known as the father of Indian Pharmacy. I cracked GPAT-2013 and secured AIR-186. It was my dream to get admission to M. Pharma at the department of Pharmaceutics, IIT (BHU). Our college organises many events like TED Talks, Technex, Kashiyatra, Spirit, etc., every year. It conducts sports events like Spardha and DJ Night Saturnaliya is the most favorite of all. Events are managed by students, and there is a collaboration with great sponsors also.

I am very happy with the faculty members, infrastructure and facilities provided.
Placements: I am a post-graduate student in the department of pharmaceutical engineering and technology at IIT (BHU), Varanasi. It is the first institute to start degree level pharmacy education in India by late professor M. L Schroff (father of pharmacy education in India) in 1932. The department offers 2 years M.Pharma programme in 4 specialisations such as pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology and pharmacognosy. M. Pharma admissions are provided through Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) score conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). The department has good placement records with a salary package of around 3.5 LPA-6 LPA in the pharma industry and around 6 LPA-10 LPA in consultancy companies. Top recruiters for our course are Dr. Reddy's, Mylan, Zydus, Emcure and Iqvia.
Infrastructure: Our institute has good facilities like a central library, central instrumentation lab, animal house facility, free Wi-Fi and classrooms. There are also an auditorium, boys hostel, girls hostel, canteen, gym, playgrounds, swimming pool and Vishwanath temple inside the campus.
Faculty: Teachers here are highly qualified and well experienced. They have a good number of publications in national and international journals. The course curriculum is designed to provide information about different aspects of drug design, its mechanism, development, testing, safe and effective usage of drugs.

Review of Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi (BHU).
Placements: All the students of our senior batch were placed, and everyone was offered a decent salary package. A few of them have opted for higher education. Last year, companies like Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Zydus Cadila, Aakash Tuitions, and Alkem Laboratories, etc., visited the campus for placements. Many of our seniors got into different domains like formulation research and development, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs.
Infrastructure: Although the college buildings are old, they are very strong. All the facilities are available on the campus. There are free medical facilities for all students. There are common rooms in hostels. Badminton courts are available in the lawn. Rooms are a bit congested but are manageable. Except for these old buildings, I didn't find any issues in this college. Labs are very sophisticated, and mostly the research work is done on cancer and neuroscience.
Faculty: Teachers in the college are highly qualified and are experts in their area. The quality of teaching is fair. There will be interactive sessions and chalk and talk lectures along with smart learning. I didn't get much industry exposure here. However, many seniors are from the industry, and they are doing a PhD now. We can know the current situation and trends in the industry from them.

Q:   What is the difference between the GATE qualifying and admission cutoffs?
