IIT BHU Cutoff 2026: JEE Advanced Previous Years Closing Rank

IIT BHU accepts JEE Advanced score, followed by JoSAA Counselling for admission to the BTech courses. IIT BHU cutoff 2023 was concluded after Round 6 of the JEE Advanced Seat Allotment Result. Candidates who have BE/BTech/MSc or equivalent with (a) CGPA 6.00 on a 10-point scale or 60% marks in aggregate for General/OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/EWS. Category with valid GATE score BTech from IITs with CGPA of 8.00 without GATE are also eligible for admission. AMIE / Grad. IETE are eligible for the M.Tech programme at IIT BHU.

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate is the basic eligibility for MSc offered at IIT Varanasi. Candidates with a minimum of aggregate are eligible for the course.

IIT BHU offers MSc courses based on IIT JAM scores. Candidates having valid IIT JAM ranks will be allowed to take part in counselling rounds. Considering the IIT BHU JAM cutoff 2025 for the Round 4 seat allotment results, the closing rank ranged between 325 and 409 for the General AI category candidates. The minimum eligibility for seeking admission for MTech in any field is normally BTech or BE or MSc in that particular field. In addition to this, the student has to appear for GATE which is the entrance exam a student has to clear for getting admission for MTech in any of the IIT's or even other institutions. Bachelor of pharmacy is not included in these criteria and hence it will not be possible for you to appear for GATE and seek admission for M.Tech in IIT BHU.

To get a seat at IIT Varanasi for M.Sc course, the student must attain a qualified rank in the IIT JAM. As per the IIT Varanasi JAM Cutoff 2025, the maximum cutoff required for admission was 409 for the students belonging to the General AI quota. So, candidates interested in IIT BHU must target a cutoff rank below 409 to get an MSc. 

IIT BHU has officially released the Round 1 cutoff ranks for MSc admissions through IIT JAM 2025, and the figures show a steady year-on-year change in the Chemistry program. The closing rank for General (All India) category candidates in MSc Chemistry was 453 in 2023, followed by a slightly lower cutoff of 387 in 2024. Now, considering the IIT BHU cutoff 2025, the MSc in chemistry cutoff stood at 308 for the General AI category candidates. This means that candidates with a JAM 2025 rank up to 308 were offered seats in the first round for MSc Chemistry at IIT BHU.
