IIT Varanasi offers a PhD programme in both full-time and part-time modes. The institute extends the programme in various specialisations of Engineering, Science, Pharmacy, and Humanities. IIT Varanasi has released the category-wise cutoffs for various BTech specialisations. For BTech admissions, JEE Advanced is conducted widely by IITs. IIT BHU is spread over 1300-acre of area with all the necessary amenities with amazing campus life. Three major festivals—technical (Technex), cultural (Kashiyatra), and sports (Spardha)—are held annually at IIT BHU. There are various clubs and councils that students can join to help them explore their artistic side.
The hostel fee at IIT BHU is INR 300 per semester. This fee does not include electricity charges, Gymkhana, Medical, Amenities and other hostel services. A total of INR 5,000 (approx.) needs to be submitted during the admission to get a hostel and other facilities. The institute has 16 hostels for boys and girls separately.
Yes, IIT BHU offers Merit-cum-Means scholarships to 25% undergraduate students. Besides, there are several endowment scholarships offered by the Institute. Some other facilities are also provided to undergraduate students in the form of Institute free studentship, scholarships, reimbursement of mess charges and pocket allowances to the students belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. IIT Varanasi BTech admission is based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Students qualify Class 12 from the recognised board with 75% marks for general category and 65% marks for SC/ ST. PwD candidates.
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate is the basic eligibility for MSc offered at IIT Varanasi. Candidates with a minimum of aggregate are eligible for the course.
In order to get admission into BTech programme of IIT (BHU), a candidate should have passed Class12 with a minimum of 75 percent in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. They have to as well pass the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams. Selection and JoSAA counselling is done by JEE Advanced rank. Counselling is only an option to those who meet all the criteria.
To get a seat at IIT Varanasi for M.Sc course, the student must attain a qualified rank in the IIT JAM. As per the IIT Varanasi JAM Cutoff 2025, the maximum cutoff required for admission was 409 for the students belonging to the General AI quota. So, candidates interested in IIT BHU must target a cutoff rank below 409 to get an MSc.
