The college feels like the place where I can sit, relax, and enjoy.
Placements: There are more than 70 students enrolled in my course. As due to NEP, some of us will continue doing the 4th year, but some will only do 3rd year. Students generally do M.Sc. after this. The top roles offered by the students are dietitian, nutritionist, HR, fashion designer, and journalism. .
Infrastructure: There are five departments in our college. The infrastructure is pretty good with all the facilities. In hostel, there is TV facility, Wi-Fi facility, and many more. The food is very tasty, fulfilling all the nutritional requirements of the student. There is medical facility in the college as well as in the hostel. The hostel union also helps in maintaining the decorum of the hostel.
Faculty: The teachers are very knowledgeable and hardworking. The course curriculum is very oriented for the industry. It not only has theoretical part but also practical part in it. The semester exams’ difficult level ranges from moderate to hard. The teachers go beyond their reach to help the students achieve their goals.
Other: I chose this course because I always wanted to be a nutritionist. This course helped me to pursue my dream of becoming a nutritionist. The college crowd is good. Every other day, fests and events are happening in the college.

Supportive women's college in DU with excellent labs, strong faculty, and active activities.
Placements: We actually have five departments in B.Sc. Honours Home Science includes the communication department, the fashion department, the food science department, the resource management department, and the human development department. From my point of view, and the information that I have received from the seniors' communication department, it has very good placements in various sectors. The average salary offered is Rs. 85, 000 per month, which is a very good amount for a fresher to earn.
Infrastructure: The college has a very good infrastructure. I think the campus is spread over around 16.5 acres, and it includes both red buildings and modern facilities. If I talk about the academic infrastructure, then it has numerous classrooms, many of which are good with LCD projectors, Wi-Fi, and their septic classrooms for both UG and PG courses with several dedicated seminar rooms. We also have laboratories that are well-equipped with facilities for practical learning and research. It includes the specialized labs for all 5 departments.
Faculty: The home Science program at Lady Irwin College has faculty members who are highly qualified with M.Sc. or PhD degrees. They have extensive experience from the college itself. They are very helpful, and their teaching is great. If we have any doubt, we can ask them several times, and they will answer us very patiently and very calmly. The examination pattern follows the DU semester system, with final exams held typically in November or December for the odd semesters and May or June for the even semesters.
Other: The crowd at college is generally supportive, non-competitive, and friendly, with a strong focus on both academic and extracurricular activities. It is basically a woman's college that shapes the social dynamics and environment. Students are typically motivated towards subjects like home science, food tech, and nutrition education. Some students are highly ambitious, but others find the environment to be more relaxed. Many students pursue higher studies like B.Ed., M.Sc., or MBA after graduation. College life is often related to highly emphasizing a blend of academic and extracurricular engagement on a beautiful campus.

My college: The Lady Irwin College.
Placements: The percentage of students placed from college is so low because our college only has 2 courses in the bachelor's program, which are home science and food technology. In home science, students have to work hard for internships and placements, but in food tech, they get it easily.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of the college are so good, it gives you a vintage vibe, and it's located in Central Delhi. But in the college, there is no specific big ground where we can easily organize our fest.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, and teaching quality is also good. But the administration is not good. The food science and nutrition department is too good, their teachers are also too good, and they give the best advice. And if someone is thinking of pursuing B.Ed in special education, they should take admission in this college. DU has only one college for this course, and that's Lady Irwin College.
Other: The crowd at the fest is not that good.

It is an excellent college.
Placements: Our college was one of the best for pursuing B.Sc. The highest salary package offered was 6 LPA and the average salary package offered was 3.6 LPA. Around 70% of students got internships.
Infrastructure: Our college offered us a photocopy shop that provided affordable photocopies of notes for college students. Wi-Fi was not available throughout the campus. Our labs and classrooms were spacious. The canteen was a good place.
Faculty: Our college had many teachers who helped us a lot in developing skills. The course curriculum was updated. It helped us enhance our confidence and participate in a variety of webinars.
Other: Festivals were excellent. Many celebrities visited our campus. I met Salman Khan and Shahid Kapoor. The campus should be improved by establishing strict control over the dogs that roam on campus.

Lady Irwin college review .
Placements: There is no placement cell. So after the completion of the course the student has to seek placement on their own. The package varies from as low as 10k to as high as 40k. Mostly a master's degree is required before getting a job. Without a Master degree it gets difficult to find a job and it is not even recommendable.
Infrastructure: Old question papers can be found in the library. The library of the college is very extensive. Hostel facilities are awesome and most of the time remain clean. The food is fine and depends on the contractor.
Faculty: The faculty of my college is one of the best faculty. They allow the student to grow at their own pace and learn. They allow the students to explore and expose them with real life reality. The subjective experiences of students are always taken into consideration and classes unfold accordingly. They are always there for help and guidance. They facilitate the learning with hands-on activities. They allow the knowledge to absorb before jumping onto another topic. Most of the subjects have a theory and a practical exam. Practicals are fun though theories at times can become boring.
Other: Many events happen in a year including freshers and farewell. Freshers and farewells happen twice, one from students union and another from teachers. Independence day, sports day,3 day long gets, pre-fest sometimes, dandiya night, founders day etc are celebrated. In all the events all the students are welcome to participate. Prizes are distributed on founders day to toppers in academics and co-curricular activities. For the 1 year orientation programme, parents day and other events are organized.

Good infrastructure and facilities, helpful faculty, dissatisfied with placement after bachelor's.
Placements: Lady Irwin College does not offer placements for B.Sc. (Hons) Home Science course. Placements are also not available for the other 2 bachelor's courses which are B.Sc. Pass home Science and B.Sc. Food Technology. However, placements are probably given in M.Sc.
Infrastructure: We have a hostel facility separately for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses on-campus, which is not common in DU colleges. We also have CRC, canteen, library, amphitheater, lawns, basketball court, medical room, and a hall. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled but the student Wi-Fi is not very well functioning. The hostel mess offers average quality food while the canteen offers good food.
Faculty: Fortunately, we have good teaching faculty members at Lady Irwin College. The teachers are most supportive and helpful when it comes to academics. The course curriculum is not only relevant, but it offers us insight into all five fields of our course.
Other: It's an interdisciplinary course. It's not just cooking and stitching, but it's vastly beyond that. We study human development, child psychology, development communication, resource management, food and nutrition, and fabric and apparel Science. Best part about the college is its location. It's in central Delhi and walking distance from Mandi House metro station, which is an interchange station. We have amazing societies for dance, stage play, street play, fashion, etc. Our fest, Quintessence is one of DU's best ranked fests.

The campus life is good, with good infrastructure, and facilities.
Placements: Students have to secure 45-50% marks in their 12th class with the Science stream to get admission in this course. There are no placements in this course as it is only at the graduation level, although one can get placements after doing a master's. Internships are not provided by college instead students find out by themselves.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good and spacious. Classrooms are well-equipped with projectors, and green boards/whiteboards. Foldable chairs are there in the classroom for sitting, and the campus is well-equipped with Wi-Fi. The library is well-equipped with books and journals, research papers, thesis and dissertations, magazines, and daily newspapers. Also, there is a photocopy shop on the first floor of the library. Food available in the canteen is fairly priced including street foods like chole bhatore, aloo kachori, bread rolls, samosa, pasta, noodles, etc. There is a medical room for students with a physician where students can go for medicine or checkup. There is a basketball court near the hostel, and also two big lawns where students can enjoy their leisure time
Faculty: Teachers help provide every useful resource. Also, most of the teachers are M.Sc. or Ph.D. , and also they have got a good experience of teaching as they are working for very long in this profession. Teachers provide notes in some classes and recommend different books for studying. The course curriculum is relevant, but it is hard for a student to get a job only, based on just graduation these days so, something complementary is needed. Semester exams are easy to moderate in difficulty level, and the passing percentage is above 40%.
Other: I just wanted to explore something out of the crowd so, I opted for this course. It helps one to build up self-confidence and boost their self-esteem as the activities in the course prepare one for it. Presentations, debates, and role-plays are daily tasks of students so, I can say these are some of the best things about the course. I think if students can get the opportunity for placement at this stage also then it would be good. Fests occur in a march named Quintessence which various celebrities visit. Different food stalls are also being set up. Scholarships are provided based on the financial status, and marks of students. Student aid fund is provided to students.

I am satisfied with the college in all aspects.
Placements: As for B.Sc. (Hons) home science, the university does not provide direct placements. Certain internship/job fairs are done by NSS in the college and similar ones can be attended outside as well. Placements and internships are provided in master's courses in various fields and companies/NGOs and many more.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi works well in the entire college. It has a pretty decent range. As for classrooms and labs, everything is provided, and things are kept basic and not too overly bright there which is great. Library has a huge collection of books, articles, journals, and much more. Even past year papers are provided in a separate section. Medical facilities are available but are not that much needed. They're all sort of societies for a person to participate in, and exposure is great in all of them. Since I am a day scholar, personally I can't say much for the hostel. But what I heard from my friends staying there is everything from water to food, from TV sessions to all function celebrations are available. They also provide a small stove area to cook your own food when needed.
Faculty: Faculty members here are good. We have 2-3 teachers for a subject at times and all are qualified and highly experienced. They are all very helpful and will never deny answering your doubts. I feel that they're very welcoming. The course here is pretty great too. In B.Sc. we are packed with overall knowledge of almost every field. We get to learn and understand the resource field, fashion industry basics, depth of human development, communication and its working in life, and much more. The course is easy and quick to grab, and so are the semester exams. The curriculum is made so easy to learn that we never faced any large issues in clearing our exams. Almost everything was known and somewhat clear to answer. Hardly, 1-2 people would get a back in any exam, but none failed from our batch.
Other: Initially, I wanted to pursue food and nutrition and later become a nutritionist. But soon after joining this course, my interest started building up in human development. There are many areas and tons of profiles to pursue in later years after this course. It is that vast. I would like nothing to change in the course at the moment as it is perfectly planned at the moment. It's hassle-free, easy to understand, and made smoothly with no extra study pressure. The college also provides many scholarships for students and extracurricular activities are promoted along with studies (hence, enrollment in societies). The campus crowd is extremely good and Mandi House is the center for every place that you wish to travel/explore. Lady Irwin College comes in the top list of hosting the best events like annual fests and DJ evenings. We host some great, famous artists like Ayushmann Khurrana, Mohit Chauhan, and many more.
