B.Sc. (Hons.) in Food Technology - Batch of 2024

The faculty is too good, but our college doesn't provide placement for the students.
Placements: If a student gets 85%, they can think of getting admission to our college. Teachers are supportive, but the problem with our college is that they do not offer any placement to the student after completion of the course due to the absence of a placement society.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is amazing. The college provides free Wi-Fi to the students, and medical facilities, canteens, and hostels are all good with proper hygiene maintenance. Hostelers get to eat different meals every day with different cuisines. The college has its own stationery, too.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful; they teach students with the help of PPT. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready due to the practical knowledge they get. We have to perform practicals on weekdays under the guidance of an appointed teacher and lab staff.

Absolutely satisfied with campus, college vibe, festivals, culture, and best faculty.
Placements: It has a good placement cell. The cell is operated by us. Different seminars take place. Overall, good placement cells. Professors also recommend different internship companies. But you cannot completely rely on the college for your job. You have to work hard to find the job.
Infrastructure: The buildings are pretty old because the city is 90 years old, but we also have new ones. Our library is my favourite place to be. Our library has a wide variety of books, including works focused on literature, syllabi, and other topics. novels publications. Furthermore excellent is the hostel. provides high-quality meals.
Faculty: My course was food technology, and I literally felt our faculty members were the best in college. They were quite experienced. Practicals were taken seriously. Our professors were fun-loving. The subjects offered were best for studying and understanding food work and concepts.

Review of Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi.
Placements: The salary package offered may change as per the requirement and the qualification. Students must have good skills to get placed in our college. Top recruiting companies are Mother Dairy, Amul, FSSAI Institute, NABARD, etc. Many students going to pursue a master's degree in this course as it provides more opportunities. A few students got placed in our college at government institutions or corporate companies. A few students got internships.
Infrastructure: Our college provides many facilities for students. It is a renowned college. There is good Wi-Fi. Our college provides us with a well-equipped lab with calibrated instruments and adequate equipment to conduct tests for all individual students. The library is in good condition, and it has many research books.
Faculty: Our faculty members have highly achieved educational qualifications. They are renowned professionals in their fields. They are doctorates and Ph.D. holders. The course curriculum is oriented in detail. It covers all the basic needs of food. Practicals make students industry-ready as food technologists. Semester exams are difficult. The marking system is practiced at Delhi University
Other: Our course has about 100 students. Our course is an evolving field for research. This course is very interesting to study. This food industry will gain importance in the coming years by seeing the population growth, the need for hygiene checkups, and new products in the market by entrepreneurs. Our college organises quintessence fest which is annual fest. This fest is popular among DU universities because of celebrities and guests.

Moderately fine but facilities are very less.
Placements: College placements are not very good. I don't have any placement experience, but I know from my seniors that during the pandemic, they didn't provide any placements, but now they hope to familiarise them with some industries.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is okay but in need of renovation; there is no wi-fi in the classrooms or the library. According to my personal experience, the canteen food is not that good; they do not serve high-quality food even though they charge more. College has only one basketball court, but I've never seen anyone playing on it.
Faculty: The faculty of the college is quite good. They are very helpful and will try to answer all of your questions. The course curriculum is not properly relevant because it only provides theoretical concepts with little industrial exposure.

Really good faculty along with nice campus .
Placements: As I am in 2nd year now but I haven't received good reviews from my seniors about placements, as due to pandemic there were no placements but on offline mode placements could be given by the college. But placement area is still a doubted issue for us because no one will give real answer of this even.
Infrastructure: Overall the infrastructure is okay but renovation is needed, whereas college have lots of plants and trees along with peacock, parrots which makes campus beautiful. They really work on environment and related issues, which is actually very nice to see.
Faculty: Faculty members are really very helpful, they try to clear all doubts also the curriculum is good. My personal experience is good as up till now I have not been in any fuss with either senior or with any teacher. But the problem in my course is that we are just doing theory work but actual industrial exposure is still not done by college even for one time.

It provides quality education, good placements, infrastructure, and facilities.
Placements: The college is pretty good at providing placements. The placement cell is good. Our college provides placements to around 80-90%. Every year students got placements in companies like WHO, FSSAI, Nestle, etc. Almost 70-80% of the students got hired, and the rest go for further studies. Top roles offered are as a technical brewer, chef, research field, nutritional therapist, quality manager, etc.
Infrastructure: This college has a huge library. All labs, classrooms, hostel, and office are well-furnished. Wi-Fi facilities are available. I'm not residing in the hostel, but I heard that all the facilities are available here. Canteens food is not so good but overall fine. It has a good and peaceful environment.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and have good patience. The teaching quality is very good. The course curriculum is relevant as we know how much the food sector is important and how fast it is growing day by day. There are many options after food technology like research field, food inspector, hotel management, etc. It's not limited to just cooking and all its beyond that. Regarding exams, I don't have enough knowledge as I'm in 1st year and 1st semester, but I heard about the OBE pattern for the exam. So I hope it will be good and not so tough.

Few teachers in our college are genuinely good in teaching and in behavior.
Placements: About 97-99% of students from our course got placed. The highest salary package offered is 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Amul and Cadbury visit our college to hire students from our course. Students get good placements after doing a post-graduation course. Only B.Sc. Home Science, i.e., under graduation course is not enough. We do not get placements after this under graduation course. Students need to do a post-graduation as well. So before you think of placements, make sure to do a post-graduation as well.
Infrastructure: Because of the pandemic, we have not been to the college nor tasted the food there. But what we heard from our seniors is that the food served is not good and there is a bit of a hygienic problem. The facilities provided for students are quite good. We have access to Wi-Fi, labs, and a library whenever we want during working hours. We have enough classrooms to conduct various classes. The hostel is good. The canteen has a variety of food at good rates. Medical facilities are good.
Faculty: The course curriculum is good. The course has enough practicals to make you future-ready. It teaches you how to handle students with multiple disabilities. You get to work in NGOs, special schools as well as inclusive schools.

Overall it is a good college. But the club/societies consume much of our time instead of studying.
Placements: I heard that placements are good. But many students pursue higher studies before going for placements.
Infrastructure: Because of the pandemic, we haven't been to the college nor tasted the food there. But what we heard from our seniors is that food served is not good and there's a bit of hygiene problem too. We have a basketball court and a large lawn. They grow organic vegetables and also sell them.
Faculty: A few teachers are genuinely good in teaching and in behavior. Some teachers just don't join the class making excuses like got an important call. They don't wait even a bit for students to process what they've been taught and continue ahead.
Other: Many events and competitions are organised off/online. Link for competitions from other colleges is also shared with us.
