B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2026

Excellence campus, excellent hostel. The only drawback is that food quality is average.
Placements: A good number of students have been placed in different companies. The average starting salary is around 15 to 30k. Students from ECE got placed in Royal Enfield too. Eicher, Tata, Wipro, and Infosys are some of the companies that students got placed from here.
Infrastructure: Amal Jyothi College of Engineering has a good infrastructure and facilities. It has a well-equipped gym, a department library, and well-equipped laboratories. The classrooms have large computer screens like smartclass. The hostel is one of the best hostels with good infrastructure compared to other engineering colleges. The food has different varieties and the quality is average. The campus and hostel are very clean and green. The college promotes games like football, cricket, badminton, basketball, table tennis, and handball. The canteen has an excellent ambience and the food quality is above average.
Faculty: The teachers at this college are excellent. They are friendly and have the capability to teach. Some of the faculty members are ex-students from my department. The exams are difficult because they are administered by KTU. The average pass percentage is 70-80%. The duration of each semester is only about 3 months for students under KTU. However, the college is now autonomous, so things are different.
Other: I chose ECE because it has more job opportunities than other courses. However, the length of a semester is only about 3 months, which is too short. On the plus side, the college now has campus festivals and celebrations, and a system called TBI where students can do startups.

Review of Amal Jyothi College of Engineering.
Placements: The placement cell of our college is not good. They just offer some local companies to the students, and the students have received very few packages. Also, they give placement assistance during the final year, which won't help students gain more confidence and preparation to attend interviews.
Infrastructure: There are big classrooms for each stream and each year. Also, they provide lab facilities, but some labs are very pathetic as they have very old and damaged equipment. The hostel they provide is very bad, especially the food, which is not even cooked properly.
Faculty: Teachers are just average. Some won't help the students in either way, but some staff are really nice, as they need all their students to be successful in their lives. Also, they provide two exams in between a semester to analyse the students academic progress. Also, the teachers give many assignments, and some might not be known to the teachers themselves.

Our college provides good infrastructure and conducts a lot of events.
Placements: If students are joining this college for placements, then I would not recommend it. Every year placements are decreasing in our college. As it is located in a remote area, only a few companies visit here. Our college and faculty members are trying to reach companies.
Infrastructure: The hostel is neat with 24X7 security guards. Wi-Fi does not connect to devices. If it gets connected there will be no speed or network. The food served in the mess is great and edible with average cleanliness.
Faculty: The hostel is neat with 24X7 security guards. Wi-Fi is just a gimmick, it does not connect to devices. Even if it gets connected, there will be no speed or network. The food served in the mess is great and edible with average cleanliness.
Other: In this college, before 2023, there were fewer college events but now there are events every week. Our college conducts three programs in one week.

Our college has great infrastructure but lacks in everything else.
Placements: About 35 to 40 percent of students get placed. I am not sure about the package. Mainly software-based companies are the recruiting companies. I don't know about the internship for my course in our college, so I don't know about the companies. TCS is the main company which recruits from our college.
Infrastructure: Our college has great infrastructure with many labs, classrooms, and a library available. However, the main drawback is the quality of food available in our college. The central library provides access to more than 1000 texts and journals.
Faculty: Many teachers are knowledgeable but lack communication with students, hindering the conveyance of their knowledge. However, there are also good teachers with minimal qualifications who know how to teach well. The semester exams are not as difficult as compared to the series of examinations conducted in the college.
Other: I chose this course predicting the changes in society, anticipating a great demand for this sector in the coming years. However, there are only minimal fests or events in our college.

Campus life is dissatisfying but has good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Most of the students in the 2022 batch were mostly placed in IT companies. The highest package would be around 7 LPA and the lowest would be around 3.4 LPA. Roles offered by companies were of software engineers and others etc. More than 40% of students in ECE were placed in these IT companies. Top recruiters were CTS, TCS, DXC tech, IBM, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available are of very good quality. But to use them we need to take permission. The facilities in the hostel are also good and they follow strict hygiene. Sports facilities mainly include 2 basketball courts, 2 grounds front and back, netball, cricket, and football facilities also provided. The quality of food is also good, nothing much to complain about with a monthly mess fee of Rs.4500. The canteen is also good.
Faculty: Teaching quality is average according to my point of view. The course curriculum is also not relevant and does not make the students' industry ready. Semester exams can be easily passed if you can mug up all the portions on time and write them onto the paper. It's not a big deal. Pass percentages may vary.
Other: I chose ECE because CS was a trend then and now, and I did not want to join the trend and maybe I was right in that part. I would love to change the course curriculum completely and include only necessary theory with some advanced technologies so that the students get industry ready. Azure is the cultural fest that is conducted every year for two days and is the main event of the college. Other events are also present. Campus life is not good in this college and is the main reason I won't recommend joining it.

Review of Amal Jyothi College of Engineering - AJCE.
Placements: I think around 60% of students get placed. Most of the placements are offered in the IT field. The average package offered is 3.5 LPA. I suggest this college only for those who are interested in studying other than co-curricular activities. This college only provides syllabus-oriented classes.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and labs are good. Unlimited Wi-Fi with a speed of 2 GBPS is available. The hostel food is really good, but the rules and regulations are very boring and disgusting. The college got NAAC B grade this year.
Faculty: The teachers are good. They do their job nicely. The pass percentage of this college is high, above 50%. Some of the teachers are very well-qualified and updated with current technology. Some teachers only know the subject. Some teachers don't know how to teach.
Other: Future depends on electronics, so I chose it.

Our college give average campus life experience.
Placements: Around 306 students got placed in core engineering jobs in 2021. Placements are 100% for eligible candidates. College will not entertain BPO or call center jobs and gives training for enhancing employability skills. TCS, UST, and Cognizant are some major recruiters.
Infrastructure: College has very good facilities and infrastructure. Free Wi-Fi all the time on campus and in hostels. Labs are occupied with good equipment and a large library including online resources. Good food at canteen and mess. Playgrounds are average.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, knowledgeable, and approachable. Relevant curriculum and it makes students industry-ready. They conduct exams and module tests so that the semester exams can be easy. The pass percentage is 71.65%.
Other: Strict college with average campus life.

The college has good infrastructure and facilities, but academically quite poor.
Placements: Our senior batch did not get much support from the placement cell, so their placements were not a success. However, the companies visiting here were rather good. The only problem is that they would hire the top students and also very few in numbers (about 2 or 3). But our placement cell has supported us very well and made their maximum efforts in getting us all placed.
Infrastructure: The college has amazing architecture, and the infrastructure is well built and easy access. The best architecture college in Kerala and it was recognised by the university, especially for this reason. Facilities are very good, and the college provides several such facilities which is very much accessible.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are highly knowledgeable, and they support well. The department organises several clubs and activities for their students. But the course curriculum is pretty difficult, and scoring is very hard, especially since the new university has been introduced (Kerala Technical University).
