Campus life at MCM DAV college for women.
Placements: The college offers great placements when it comes to my course. However, some of the students don’t go for campus placements, and the ones who opt for it definitely get something. There are multiple placement drives held, around 20 to 30, to make sure that students get the right opportunity. There are also an ample number of internships that the college provides for 2nd and 3rd-year students to enhance their skills.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is very calm and composed; however, there aren’t any such requirements for my course. However there are labs and other facilities for technical courses, and the library is equipped with ample books for students to read and learn from. There are also sports facilities for students interested in the relevant field.
Faculty: The course curriculum and exams for my course are not that complex, and they are quite related to the course as well. Subjects like e-commerce, taxation, management, and various types of accounting help us prepare for the things people work with in daily life.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in pursuing my career in business and management, and it was the best decision to go for it in my college as I got so many opportunities that I couldn't have had otherwise.

I am satisfied and happy. On a scale of 10, I rate my experience a solid 7.
Placements: About 40% to 50% of students get placed every year. The placement cell works quite good to provide placements, but most of companies require students from the Excel field. Recently, ICICI Bank has had a placement drive in our college. Deloitte also comes for placement purposes.
Infrastructure: The college campus and infrastructure are better than many colleges in Chandigarh. Wi-Fi facilities are okay. The library has almost every book. The hostel is not bad, and the food is nice. The college canteen is okayish I'm not very fond of the canteen food, but it is manageable.
Faculty: Teachers are polite and helpful, but some are arrogant and don’t listen to students’ problems. Overall, the faculty is nice. Talking about exams, we have our mid-semester tests and final exams, which are conducted by Panjab University and are a little difficult.

Teachers are not very understanding.
Placements: Very less companies come and very less students get placement. The placements are not with good pay, and the job role is also not according to the course. Airtel and HDFC are the only two companies I saw coming for placement so far. The notifications related to anything just don’t get circulated properly here.
Infrastructure: The labs are great. The classrooms are okayish, the benches are not comfortable. There are many sports, and hostel is also allotted to the sportspersons, but the subject teachers are not so considerate when you're in sports. They will give you very less marks in internal assessment if you miss the classes due to sports. The hostellers are not allowed to go out of the college before 2, and they have to be inside before 6:30 pm (they have to inform if they want to go out after the college hours and the reason also has to be stated).
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable but not very understanding. It’s not a college; it’s more like a school. If a student wants to just study and not get involved in any extracurricular activity, they should definitely choose this college. The ambience is really good according to studies.
Other: I chose to study Bachelor’s of Commerce from here, and my overall experience was good as the teachers are highly skilled, educated, and knowledgeable. The college organizes many fests in a year, which are actually good, like Diwali fest, Meraki, etc. The crowd of this college is also very decent. The college also participates in various activities in Youth Fest.

Good College but Not the Best One
Placements: About 70-80% of students are placed with satisfactory packages. Companies like Tech Mahindra, Infosys, and Amazon offer placements to students. Students typically get jobs in sales and marketing, etc. However, we can't say that the college offers too many placement opportunities.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is average—not particularly fancy or comfortable. Classrooms are small and tight. The library is pretty good with available facilities. The hostel is also decent, offering facilities like washing machines, Wi-Fi, a reading room, and libraries. The food is acceptable, not too bad. Medical facilities are available, and games are also provided for students to play.
Faculty: Some teachers are very supportive and helpful, while others can be rude and unhelpful. All of them are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching is pretty good. However, the course curriculum is not very relevant, as it focuses mainly on theoretical knowledge with little practical application. Semester exams are moderate to easy if you study.
Other: I chose this course for my future goal of teaching. The best aspect is that it opens up many opportunities for commerce students in the future and provides deep knowledge of the subject. The course could improve by offering less theoretical knowledge and more practical knowledge. Events are held in college but not many are organized and they are not that good. The campus crowd can also be boring with limited extracurricular activities. Only students who are professionals in a specific area are allowed to participate which restricts others from learning. Auditions for everything can be frustrating.

Value for money because of the facilities provided and the highly qualified faculty.
Placements: Approximately 70-80% students are placed in top companies with good packages, and it is necessary for all students to pursue an internship in the final year of the course. There are several opportunities provided by the college for all types of courses with different companies.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is available in the entire college and hostel. The overall food quality in the college and hostel is top-notch, with all kinds of variety available at reasonable and affordable prices, keeping in mind college students. Good quality and hygienic food is provided.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified in their respective fields. The curriculum is quite relevant, keeping in mind the future prospects of the students. The semester exams have a standard set level, considering the entire curriculum and the level of students.

Infrastructure is so good.
Placements: Placement opportunities are not much as compared to private universities, but there are lots of internships available for last-year students. Lack of internship opportunities, but if students have good communication skills, then there are lots of opportunities for them.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facilities, good infrastructure like celebration grounds, and common room facilities. There are many books available in libraries. There is a canteen area too. The recreation room is there for us if we want to play some games in our free period. Also, teachers are very kind and helpful. They are very cooperative .
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. There are two semesters in a year. In the month of December, we have our 1st semester exam, and in March, we have our 2nd semester exam. In the middle of October, there is a midterm test organised by our college, which has 40% value in internal assessment.

Highly recommended college to pursue your higher education.
Placements: As I am a fresher, I do not have much information. However, according to what I have heard from the seniors, the average annual package goes up to 5-6 Lacs per annum depending upon one’s overall performance in the college in terms of percentage and other opportunities such as internships, workshops, extra courses, etc.
Infrastructure: I am a day scholar and the college infrastructure according to me is very cool and designed in such a manner that everything is easily accessible to the students. The classrooms are fully ventilated with enough number of fans and windows. The food available in the canteen is pocket friendly keeping in mind the students’ expenditure and also the quality of the food is always up to the mark. There is something for everyone.
Faculty: The teachers are highly knowledgeable in their respective fields which makes the lectures quite interesting and worth attending. The curriculum also keeps on getting interesting as the semester passes by with subjects like e commerce and human resource management which are also very relevant to keep up with the modern world. The exams’ frequency is usually 2 months. First being the mid semester tests which is a great source of preparation for the final exams at the end of the semester.
Other: There are a lot of fests conducted in the college. Meraki being the Annual fest wherein all the students are welcomed to give their inputs along with other fests like the diwali fest, the holi fest, etc. which also act as platform for the students to showcase their talents or small businesses, if any. The reason I chose this course is because of my interest in accounting, finance and management.

Somewhat satisfied; need for improvement.
Placements: There is a placement drive almost every week, but the companies coming for placement are not very reputable and are very average companies, providing internships with very little stipend for the people who actually get selected for the placement. It is something that can be improved.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is quite good. The college is very well maintained and very clean. The only problem that I face at the college in terms of infrastructure facilities is that the wi-fi there does not work. It becomes difficult to access the internet.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is quite good. They take out the time to explain each and every topic in very minute details, and they are always ready to solve any problem that the students are facing.
