M.Tech. in Embedded Systems - Batch of 2018

5Placements5Infrastructure5Faculty1Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
A great place to learn and find a career if you are interested in research and technology domain.
Placements: Placements are offered usually through internships where candidates are placed after the completion of their M.Tech. Companies like Intel, Microchip, Bosch, Tata Elxsi, etc., visit the college to recruit students as interns. So far, the conversion rate is more than 80%. Intel offers around 7.50 LPA package. TI offers a greater amount of nearly Rs. 40,000 per month as stipend. Recruitments were for either embedded or VLSI domain. Mistral Solutions offered VSLI profile. Almost all the students got internships, and others opted to do a project in the college out of convenience.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is really good. It was a research centre, but now, it offers M.Tech courses due to the success of training and PG diplomas offered here. Hence, you won't have the feeling of a college and college life with respect to extracurricular activities as they will be minimal. Labs are superb with access to many technologies and software that are not available anywhere else. Classrooms have projectors, and all the classes are taken in a smart class setup. Medical facilities are not available on campus as there are multi-speciality hospitals nearby. The library is great with a huge collection of books, mostly related to academics and technology. There are no bus services. The hostel for boys is situated 400 metres away from the campus, and the new hostel is really good. The old ones are not that good, and APJ hostel is the new one. Food in the canteen was average. Yet, we decided to skip the mess and eat from outside, and some students opted to eat from NITC. The hostel has a ground to play volleyball and badminton.
Faculty: The faculty team has scientists and people with industrial experience. Hence, more focus is given to the practical-oriented learning than memorisation of syllabus and textbooks. All materials required for examination POV are shared for detailed learning as well. The course curriculum is good. However, there is always a need for improvement. Since one batch has only 36 students at maximum, the student-faculty ratio is quite good. Even the lab staff are highly knowledgeable in their respective laboratory works and subjects.
Other: Campus surroundings are silent and clean because of Swach Bharath. There are two nearby towns which are added goodies. There aren't any events or fests conducted on a regular basis.
