B.Des. in Knitwear Design - Batch of 2025

3Placements3Infrastructure5Faculty2Crowd & Campus Life2Value for Money
Not satisfied with placement as the college charges hefty fee.
Placements: Placements are good for some departments and bad for others. FC and F&LA get nice placements while the other 5 departments suffer with either low-paying jobs or even no jobs at times. So, depends on the course you choose. Earlier it was quite good, but it's regrading.
Infrastructure: Only a girl's hostel is available and the college is too small. Small playground and library. Overall the college is very small. The labs are enough with all the resources required like knitting machines, overlock machines and of course SNLS machines.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-qualified and very willing to help you out. Semester exams can be very stressful especially the jury that happens once every semester. The course is quite relevant though and prepares you for the fashion industry in the end.
Other: Very few fests are organized.

B.Des in Accessory Design - Batch of 2027

The best college for B. Des in Accessory Design Course.
Placements: In my batch of B. Des in Accessory Design at NIFT Kolkata, around 85% of students were successfully placed. The highest package offered was around 12 Lacs per annum, while the lowest was around 4 Lacs per annum, with an average package of approximately 7 Lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies included Titan, FabIndia, Fossil, and Hidesign. About 70% of students secured internships, with companies like Tommy Hilfiger, Louis Vuitton, and Michael Kors being prominent. Roles offered range from accessory designer to product developer and merchandiser.
Infrastructure: NIFT Kolkata offers excellent infrastructure for the Accessory Design course. The department has modern labs, spacious classrooms, and a well-stocked library with relevant resources. B.Des in Accessory Design - Batch of 2025

College is decent. You can go for it if you are really passionate about designing.
Placements: Accessory Design is doing quite well than other departments, especially for Jewellery Design people. The placements are also going decent. A lot of brands come for college placements as well. We have got labs too. The lab assistants are very good and helpful as well.
Infrastructure: Not so good, hostels are ***. The food is bad, the facilities are poor, you have to share rooms and you only get hostels in the first year, after that it's all luck-based. The infrastructure is also very average, I won't recommend it at all. If you have other options, don't opt for it.
Faculty: Like every other college, you will have to learn things on your own, the college only helps in networking. Some professors are very good, and some are very lenient. They will just come, read the PDF, and go back. You have to learn things and upgrade your skills.
Other: Events are very few but happen from time to time. The only good fest is Spectrum, which happens once a year.
