It's a great college with some problems.
Placements: The placement data from the previous year showed that almost 97% of students got placed with a decent package. The highest package last year was 35.5 LPA, which is quite good. Even this year, the pre-placement offers and placements are above average, with companies like Microsoft and Nvidia participating in it. The highest package this year till now was, I guess, 25 LPA, again a good amount. So the placements are above average here.
Infrastructure: The course is really bad, it's not just the case with this college, the college courses in whole India are the same. They are outdated, decades behind the current world. Today's world has changed, we need new skills, adapt to new tech, and hence it should change. The hostel is pretty bad, there are 5 students in 1 room in 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year. It's only in the final year that you get a single room. Though a mega boys' hostel is under construction, it will definitely improve the hostels. Mess food is average, sometimes it's good too.
Faculty: These are average, faculty members are great, well-qualified, and they know about their subjects well. The exams are moderate, not tough, but well enough to test your knowledge on the curriculum. The curriculum is not relevant to today's AI world. Semester exams are not difficult, you can pass them with decent grades while starting to study just before exams.
Other: Fiesta are great, range chinar and techveganza are fabulous. The campus life is great, but the problem is that the campus is very small, which creates a problem.

The best thing about the college is its natural beauty. Located in Kashmir the .
Placements: My batch has 100 students, out of which almost 20 are local, who are very nice and helpful. Approximately 40-50 students are from Jammu and Kashmir, which is obvious because of the 50 percent state quota. Each semester has 6 main subjects and 2-3 labs and workshop classes.
Infrastructure: For the first year, the classrooms are not up to the mark, but from the second year, classes are very good. For the first year, every class takes place in the attic, and I'm not even kidding. It's on the third floor, and it is so tiring to climb the stairs 10 times a day.
Faculty: Some teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable, but at the same time, some teachers don't care about their class at all. One of our teachers uploads every lecture on YouTube, which is very helpful, and on the other hand, one teacher didn't even bother to complete the syllabus.
Other: Don't expect a lot. The campus is very small compared to other colleges, and it is not lively. One major fun event takes place in a year.

Decent Government college with almost every facility available and good placement statistics too.
Placements: The placement drive is ongoing, but the highest in mechanical right now is 14 LPA for 2 students and 12 LPA for 2 students. The lowest has been 6.5 LPA, and a total of 14 students have been placed in mechanical. The average for now has been around 7.5 Lacs.
Infrastructure: The place has undergone various changes throughout the year, with the mega hostel being built. Things will get better, but right now, the hostel rooms are cramped with 5 to 6 students in a single room in the first year. The food is good. The college has a medical unit and has very good grounds. There is a cricket and a football ground, various badminton courts, volleyball courts, lawn tennis courts, basketball courts and a real court too, and there are about 6 table tennis tables.
Faculty: We have very good faculty, the course is the same as every government institution, the course includes SolidWorks, labs for fusion making students ready for the industry. The semester exams are pretty difficult, and the midterms are relatively easier than the end-of-term exams. The pass percentage depends on every subject, but is about 78-80 percent for the first semester.

The worst college if your interest is in core branches.
Placements: If you check the college website for placement status, the numbers look impressive, but the reality was very different. They calculate the percentage only from students who were eligible, and most of the companies that visit were focused on diversity hiring, so they take only female candidates. Even if you were lucky enough to be eligible for a company, the offer that they provided is really bad. Then they inflate the figure by accounting for total offers instead of actual students placed. Most of these offers were in the 6-7 LPA range.
Infrastructure: The common access PC labs were not that good, however, some labs were really good, but you need some special permission for that. The library was quite good. Classrooms were good with smart LED screens. I was a day scholar, but the hostels were really small, they were hygienic, but really small, and the food was decent.
Faculty: The teachers were average, like every other college, not good enough. The course was also the same old pattern that is being used. It won't make you industry-ready, you need to do some ground work yourself through internships. The semester exams were slightly on the tougher side. The pass percentage is quite good, as if you do other stuff like assignments and quizzes, you would just pass easily.
Other: I personally chose his course to figure out what I want to do next in life. I had minimal interest in my course. I wish there were practical lessons also for the course that would make it more interesting and enjoyable to learn. We have two fests in a year, but the college crowd is boring, so you just need to be lucky to have fun.

Dissatisfied with the infrastructure.
Placements: Top recruiting companies in our college are TCS and Infosys. The average and median packages are also decent with 10 LPA and the highest package is about 40LPA. The placement rate is about 80 percent and 504 students out of 775 registered students got placed in campus selection.
Infrastructure: It has been like 3 months since I got admission in NIT Srinagar and it has really been a very wonderful time. The campus is really beautiful with a lot of greenery and trees. The classrooms are also comfortable along with good professors and nice wardens. The overall environment of the campus along with students is also very refreshing.
Faculty: The faculty is very good with high knowledge and good teaching skills and they are also very friendly to ask doubts and to gain knowledge. The course curriculum is also relevant and they make students industry ready with good coding skills by conducting coding clubs and hackathons.

Really good infrastructure, a great view and a satisfying campus life await.
Placements: I'm in the ECE department, and it has a strong placement record with an average package of 10.75 LPA and the highest package of 36.5 LPA. Top recruiters are TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Tata Motors, etc. Many students go for an IT role rather than a core one, so no problem of placement here.
Infrastructure: NIT Srinagar has a well-equipped lab for every branch that includes both modern and developing facilities. Hostels are also good with Wi-Fi facilities and LAN connections in every room, and there's no problem with connectivity. The quality of food is average, and medical and sports facilities are very good.
Faculty: Facilities at NIT Srinagar are good and well-qualified, they are great in their professions, and they teach the relevant curriculum. Students need to build their skills on their own, and different workshops are available for this, so that they can learn and get industry-ready.
Other: I chose this course because it's great to go with ECE if you're really interested in research-related things, or if you are targeting PSUs. The events and crowd connectivity are all good here, with a lot of extracurricular activities.
