Review of NIT Srinagar Chemical Engineering and overall placement rate.
Placements: Overall placement rate of our department is 35-45 percent. The highest package is 14LPA, the lowest is 2.8 LPA, and the average is 8 LPA. Companies that visit our campus for placement such as NTPC, DRDO, HPCL, etc. 15 percent of students got internships from the companies that visit our campus. Top roles offered are process engineer, production engineer, plant engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities of the classroom and library are at the top level. Everything is working and is advanced. There are a total 5-6 persons in one room in the boys hostel. The quality of food in the mess is better than that in many private colleges. There are full medical facilities and sports and games are also available for the students as well as for the professors.
Faculty: They all have completed their PhD. Their teaching style is good. The course curriculum is more relevant from the second year onwards. The college exams are moderate to difficult. The pass percentage is more than 90 percent including all the branches.
Other: I wanted to be a chemical engineer from the start. There should be more practical experiments and plants visit for the students. Events, fests, connectivity, etc., all are good.

Overall student experience is decent.
Placements: At present, there’s no better percentage in placements. 8 LPA is the average package offered mostly by companies like Vedanta. I hope it improves in the upcoming years. Internship participation is around 80% in our course. Mostly we suggest targeting off-campus placements like GATE/PSU.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are very fine, but when we come to the labs, most of the equipment doesn’t work. The library has very limited space, which makes it difficult for students, mainly during exams. While the college buildings are good, the internal roads are not maintained properly, which leads to blockage of water during rains.
Faculty: The faculty has good subject knowledge, but their communication skills need to improve. Since students from all over India will be pursuing the degree, it is important for them to be very clear while understanding the classes to make it more beneficial. In some classes, topics are not conveyed clearly, which affects students’ understanding.
Other: Honestly, I have chosen this course by chance, not by choice. There are two fests in a year, and most events are conducted during festivals.

Come to NIT Srinagar if this is your last and best option.
Placements: Unfortunately, in my course, placements are very low. The maximum package for this year is 8 LPA, 8–10 students got placed for the same amount, so it can be considered as an average package as well. Most of the students got internships in good companies like DRDO, HPCL, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is fine. Classrooms are good. Wi-Fi is also available. Labs need some maintenance. The library is well maintained but very small and congested. Mess food is just edible, canteen food is far better. For common health issues, medical facilities can help you, but for bigger issues, the college will prefer you go to a government hospital. Most of the sports courts are here. If you are a sportsperson, you will be happy.
Faculty: Teachers are a bit strict in their curriculum. If you are genuinely eager to learn, teachers are helpful. All of them are well qualified. Till now, based on my experience, I can say the theory portion is much more than practical, which didn’t sound good to me. The exam level is average. But the copy-checking criteria in my course are strict, due to which many students face backlogs in their exams.
Other: Obviously, this course isn’t my choice. But I got it, and I have to go on with it. At the end, I’ll have some knowledge which will enhance my skills in this field. Many things can be improved in my course, like labs, curriculum, and a few faculty members. You can grab many scholarships; the most common is PM Yashasvi. Every day, many extracurricular activities are held. We have two fests: 1–Techvaganza (Tech Fest), 2–Range-e-Chinar (Fest of Art and Culture).

The college doesn't provide a good way for internships and also, the branches like chemical and metallurgy have a very low placement ratio.

The campus is like heaven. The cutoff is low as compared to other NITs.
Placements: Our college has a strong placement record. Students got placed in various sectors. Nearly 50% of students get placed every year. The highest salary package offered was 36 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Oracle, Accenture, and Congnizant. Almost every student get internship. They offered top roles.
Infrastructure: There is a separate department building for each department. Classrooms are the same for the first year in every branch, later it changes from the second year. Colleges are fully associated with Wi-Fi in every building and every hostel room. There is also a LAN associated with the hostel.
Faculty: Our teachers are very helpful. They are well-qualified. Most of the faculty members are from IIT and NITs. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant for placement. It helps for industry-ready. Semester exams are very difficult to pass. If you get a backlog in exams then you can clear it next year.

Life of a student at NIT Srinagar and facilities here.
Placements: Around 70% of students got placed on campus placements. The highest package offered in my course is 24.3 LPA. The lowest is 6 LPA. The average package is around 8.75 LPA. Top recruiting companies for my course are Vedanta, Shell, Dr Reddy, Aakash, PWC, etc. Around 94% of students got internships. There are 3 credits in the fifth semester. Top roles offered during placements are educator, sales executive, sales assistant, assistant engineer, assistant executive, assistant management, etc.
Infrastructure: There is a separate building for the chemical engineering department. It is made in Kashmir style on the whole campus which is very adorable. There is open Wi-Fi all around the campus. The speed is below average. Our classrooms have smart boards and projectors. The library has around 1 lack of books authored by various foreign and national personalities various research papers and journals. Facilities available in the hostel are quite well. The food in the mess is very horrible. Non-vegetarian food is made 4 times a week. The canteen food is decent. Medical facilities are available 24/7.
Faculty: Our professors have completed their post-graduation and Ph.D. from IITs NITs and other top foreign universities. They are very helpful and highly qualified in their fields and areas of interest. Their teaching quality is top-notch. We can easily approach them. They also help us with lab work. The course curriculum is very relevant which helps students to make them industry-ready. It is useful for our personal development. The level of semester exams is moderate where most of the questions are from professors' notes. The pass percentage is around 97%. Back exams are also at the same level.
Other: I chose this course because of my keen interest in nuclear chemistry thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, process design and economics, and mechanical operations. The best thing about my course is that it has a good scope for the future and job opportunities. Lab assistants need to be improved. They just read the theory and performed practicals. Techvaganza is the biggest technical fest of Kashmir and Range-E-Chinar is the biggest cultural fest here. Around 5,000 students are registered in all courses here. Various NSP scholarship schemes are awarded on a merit basis. Debate dance, drama, music, and clubs are also there.

Top recruiting companies for my course are Vedanta Shell, etc. Around 97% of students are able to crack internships in research, core, and industries. Top roles offered are sales executive, assistant management, assistant engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: There is a separate building for the chemical engineering department which consists of professors' cabins and labs of our department. The classroom takes place in lecture halls. The library has around 1 lacs of books which consist of books from foreign authors, national authors, research papers, journals, etc. In the first three years, we get a 5-seater room. In the final year, we can get a single-seater room if we have a 7.5 CGPA or above with no active backlogs. The mess food is very horrible. Medical facilities are available 24/7. Sports facilities are average.

Review of NIT Srinagar - National Institute of Technology
Placements: Placements are quite poor, mostly with IT companies and a few core companies. If I don't receive any placements, I planned to write the GATE exam for my branch, as the competition is very low. I would suggest this for students pursuing my branch.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are in very bad condition in our college. The food in the mess is okay. During the admission process, they will ask if one is a day scholar or hostel student, and request Rs. 25,000 registration process. For the third year, one will be allotted a separate room.
Faculty: For first year, faculty, they are good, but it will be difficult for students who don't know Hindi, as they will teach in Hindi only. I would recommend this for students who know Hindi. Curriculum is very old, and academic teachers tend to favor local students.
Other: I wanted to do a degree in a branch no one mostly chose. I have an interest in Chemistry so I opted it.

Good campus overall.
Placements: We are recently enrolled in this course. Our batch is good, although there are some great-minded students who work really hard for their future endeavors. There were 104% placement offers last year. Top recruits were Vedanta and L&T. The internship percentage is also high; it is about 95%. Top roles were sales manager and executors.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is not so good. Most of the buildings are under construction. The mega hostel is under construction. The auditorium is also not completed yet. Classrooms and labs are good, although the food quality in the mess is like the other hostels—just average food. Canteen food is good. Medical facilities are good, with X-ray machines, a physio center, and a medical consultant available all the time. Sports grounds are so good. You can play by yourself, but you can't think about the inter-NIT competition and all that.
Faculty: All teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. Most of them have done their higher education at renowned institutes in our country. They deliver their content to students in a good way. They also teach students to get ready for social developments. Semester exams are difficult if you do not study regularly. Most of the students passed, but some of them have backlogs in specific courses.
Other: I feel like there is some great scope in the chemical industry because some limited colleges are tutoring this course. As the technology industry is booming, the chemical industry is also rising. We can see improvement in many aspects, like they can have advanced labs for department students. They should get good outside exposure. Events and fests are below average, so just keep your expectations very low and enjoy them. The airport is 20 km away from the campus. The surroundings are so beautiful. You'll get scholarships, although extracurricular activities are there, they don't have proper infrastructure to conduct them, so it doesn't make sense at all.
