The total tuition fee for a two-year MTech is INR 1.4 Lacs (except for M.Tech AI). The tuition fee for M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence (AI) course is INR 2.72 lakh. This given fee is for regular M.Tech candidates. For the candidates belonging to a self-sponsored category, the tuition fee is INR 2.2 lakh, while the SC/ST category candidates are exempted from tuition fee payment. Candidates with a valid BE/BTech degree from a recognised university can apply for NIT Jalandhar MTech course. Aspirants must have scored at least 60% aggregate to apply. Aspirants must have the relevant documents for verification.

NIT Jalandhar M.Tech admissions are entirely based on a valid GATE score. Candidates are selected as per their rank obtained in the entrance exam score and the final seat allotment is done through CCMT Counselling process. The first preference will be given to GATE rank holders. However,  if the seats remain vacant after admitting GATE qualified candidates, then the students will have to appear for a department-level entrance test to try their chance for admission.
