NIT Mizoram admission process is conducted through national level counselling on entrance basis. Candidates will be selected basd on JEE Main result for BTech and GATE for MTech. Admissions to PhD course is conducted on institute level through scores obtained in either GATE, UGC NET, CSIR JRF or a written test conducted by NIT Mizoram itself.

STEP 1: Entrance Exam Registration
First step in admission to any NIT Mizoram course is to appear in its respective accepted entrance exams. All entrance exams accepted have separate portals on which candidates can register to appear in them. For registration to NIT Mizoram written test for PhD, candidates need to apply for that course without mentioning any national level entrance exam score. STEP 2: Counselling and Seat Allocation
Once entrance exam results are published, candidates can register for counselling rounds following a similar process as mentioned above. During counselling rounds, candidates are required to lock their preferences for course and institute.

One can take admission to M.Tech programme at NIT Mizoram through common counselling for M.Tech (CCMT) after qualifying GATE. If seats remain vacant after GATE qualified candidates, admission can be given to non-GATE candidates through Institute admission procedure.
