NIT Nagaland is based in Dimapur, Nagaland. It has a sturdy infrastructure that provide access to a central library and clean classrooms and labs. The overall infrastructure is great. National Institute of Technology Nagaland offers Btech in Mechanical Engineering, CSE, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering as a full-time 4 year programmes. 

The Institute offers MSc with two specialisations i.e MSc in Physics and MSc in Chemistry.

For the General AI category, the cutoff in the first round was 32418, and in the last round, it was 56055. NIT Nagaland offers specialisations in UG, PG and PhD level. NIT Nagaland offers BTech, M.Tech MSc and PhD programme. Candidates who have twelve years of school education with 75% aggregate and a valid JEE Main scores are eligible for the BTech course. For the MTech, candidates who have a Bachelor's Degree in any stream and a valid scorein the GATE score. Also candidates with a bachelor's degree in Science and IIT Jam score are eligible for the MSc programe. And finally for the PhD candidates must have master's degree  in Engineering or Technology, a valid GATE/JRF/ UGC NET/ CSIR NET score.

NIT Nagaland admission starts with the registration process for JEE Main January session. Admission to NIT Nagaland is subject to various national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main and GATE. The flagship programme of NIT Nagaland is BTech which is offered across six specialisations. Admission to BTech is based on JEE Main scores followed by JoSSA Counselling. For MTech and MSc, admission is subject to GATE and IIT JAM exams, respectively. MTech and MSc also have counsellig based admission. CCMT and CCMT are the counselling platform through which the qualified MSc and MTech are admitted.

Since all the programmes of NIT Nagaland are entrance exam based. So seats are allotted through individual counselling. For example, a BTech seat is allotted through JoSSA counselling. No, as per the official website, a student cannot take direct admission to NIT Nagaland. Students have to clear their respective entrance exams for the courses they wish to get into. For admission to BTech and MTech, students must have a valid score in JEE Main and GATE exams, respectively, and go through their counselling processes to secure a seat at the institute. Similar to these UG and PG courses, admission is entrance and interview-based for PhD.

No, you cannot get into NIT Nagaland for the BTech course without appearing for the JEE Main entrance examination. Candidates who want enrolment to the BTech course have to attempt the JEE Main exam and sit for the JoSSA counselling process to be eligible for a seat.
