If you are from CSE/IT then placement is very good but for core branch you should not expect much.

Absolutely satisfied with the faculty and good placement records.
Placements: Almost 80 to 90 percent of students were placed in this course. The highest package is 32 LPA, the average package is 5 LPA, and the lowest package is around 3 to 4 LPA, but it varies every year. Top recruiting companies like Amazon, Deloitte, IBM, Apple, Wipro and so on visit the campus to hire the students. At the end of the course, almost every student receives an internship offer.
Infrastructure: They provided good facilities such as 24/7 Wi-Fi services. But the region of this college experiences very cold winters. We don't need any air conditioning in labs and libraries, every day in a year is a cold day. For South Indians, it was found to be difficult to survive here with their food.
Faculty: We have a very knowledgeable and qualified faculty on campus. Their teaching quality is top-notch. Regarding curriculum, we don't have any special curriculum, it follows the curriculum followed by all colleges, but they are trying hard to make the students industry-ready. The difficulty of exams may vary from year to year.

A decent college despite the location.
Placements: 95 percent student but these are only the eligible students without the backlog who got placed with the highest package, 14 LPA, median, and average 8 LPA. The top recruiting company is Rashmika Metallics with the highest number of students, although most of them got fired pretty soon.
Infrastructure: Hostels are very crowded with 5 people in one room and have many problems. The rainy season is literally ***. There will be water everywhere, the drainage is very poor, Wi-Fi is very bad, but you will get ethernet, but most of the sites will be block and the food quality is trash. Labs are quite good.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are very helpful, except for some teachers. Especially, the timetable is designed in a way to help the student. Mildly relevant course. Semester exams are pretty easy, you can just cover the subject in 2 days before the exam.

The college is worth it with the right mindset, NIT Srinagar can launch you to a strong career.
Placements: In my course, the placement percentage was 76%, the highest package was 21 LPA, and the lowest package was 8 LPA with a median package of 10-11 LPA. Top recruiters were Amazon, Flipkart, Deloitte, Infosys, and some PSUs. 96.9% got internships at Oracle, IBM, DRDO, etc. High-paying core positions in VLSI Design, Embedded Systems, and IoT, alongside roles in telecommunication, automation, and IT.
Infrastructure: The department has state-of-the-art labs including VLSI Lab, Optical Fiber Communication Lab, Image Processing Lab, Information and Network Security Lab, Biometric Lab, and Machine Learning Lab. Hostels are quite well equipped with good Wi-Fi availability and 4 students per room. Every student is provided with a study table and a chair. The food quality is good too, with a well-planned mess menu. There are 3-4 canteens on our campus and a cafeteria too, with good food quality. There is also a newly constructed two-floor large medical center with 24/7 service. Almost all outdoor and indoor sports are available with well-maintained grounds.
Faculty: Across core engineering branches, there’s deep expertise in renewable energy, AI, communications, materials, and computational methods. Many professors engage in advanced areas like machine learning, IoT, smart grids, nanotechnology, and big data. The course is totally curriculum-relevant as they also involve students in real-life projects and problems and make them ready for the industry. Semester exams are quite hard, especially for my course, as professors are highly experienced. The pass percentage is nearly 95-100%.
Other: I have a deep interest in VLSI and embedded systems as they provide deep knowledge in processor design. In NIT Srinagar, ECE has got accreditation too.

Come to NIT Srinagar if this is your last and best option.
Placements: Unfortunately, in my course, placements are very low. The maximum package for this year is 8 LPA, 8–10 students got placed for the same amount, so it can be considered as an average package as well. Most of the students got internships in good companies like DRDO, HPCL, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is fine. Classrooms are good. Wi-Fi is also available. Labs need some maintenance. The library is well maintained but very small and congested. Mess food is just edible, canteen food is far better. For common health issues, medical facilities can help you, but for bigger issues, the college will prefer you go to a government hospital. Most of the sports courts are here. If you are a sportsperson, you will be happy.
Faculty: Teachers are a bit strict in their curriculum. If you are genuinely eager to learn, teachers are helpful. All of them are well qualified. Till now, based on my experience, I can say the theory portion is much more than practical, which didn’t sound good to me. The exam level is average. But the copy-checking criteria in my course are strict, due to which many students face backlogs in their exams.
Other: Obviously, this course isn’t my choice. But I got it, and I have to go on with it. At the end, I’ll have some knowledge which will enhance my skills in this field. Many things can be improved in my course, like labs, curriculum, and a few faculty members. You can grab many scholarships; the most common is PM Yashasvi. Every day, many extracurricular activities are held. We have two fests: 1–Techvaganza (Tech Fest), 2–Range-e-Chinar (Fest of Art and Culture).

Improving gradually in 2025.
Placements: This year, the placements have been decent. As per the data provided by the placement cell of NIT Srinagar, 67% of students of Computer Science and Engineering are placed this year, up to now, with a median package of approximately 9 LPA, and the average package is around 8.5 LPA. The highest package is 24 LPA, and the lowest is 3.5 LPA. Top recruiters are Physics Wallah, Oracle, Microsoft, and Make My Trip. This year, from my course, we have plenty of internship programs offered by Microsoft, but only 40% students opted for internships.
Infrastructure: As per the needs of the modern world, I don't think that we have the required facilities and infrastructure available in NIT Srinagar, classrooms are not well maintained, and many tools for doing experiments are outdated, yet we have Wi-Fi facilities and all kinds of labs. Hostels are built according to old standards, but the new mega hostel will be ready this year. Food is good with all sorts of requirements for a balanced diet. There are 2-3 canteens for each station, fast food, daily use items and stalls, they have all the required items you desire. A big playground is available.
Faculty: Some teachers are very helpful and good, but there are teachers who are only there for the completion of the syllabus rather than giving you constructive support. All of them are highly qualified. The curriculum is not designed efficiently in accordance with the modern book of AI. We are stuck with the old course, so one has to do their own research in the field of AI. Semester exams are medium hard, and the pass percentage is around 89%.
Other: CSE is the highest preferred course in all engineering institutes, as it gives you a variety of skills and the ability to secure a decent package. You can work from home, no field work is required in your office. I think if it is somehow connected with Artificial Intelligence, then it will be fully nourished, and this combination can lead the students to higher packages and job offers. Not many events were held earlier, but this year we had many fests and events, a less crowded campus, NSP scholarship, beautiful surroundings, lots of extracurricular activities, and good alumni connections.

I am in my first year of college. It is very good and one of the most beautiful campuses in India.
Placements: NIT Srinagar has good placement records from the past 5 years. It has almost 100 percent placement records in almost every branch, with an average of 9 LPA. MNCs from across India come here to place students in their companies.
Infrastructure: It has very good infrastructure. Every hostel has a nice garden in front of it. There is a badminton court in my hostel where we enjoy playing every day. We have a big ground and good sports equipment, so we enjoy ourselves a lot while playing. We also have a nice view of the mountains.
Faculty: Faculty of the National Institute of Technology Srinagar is very good. Most of the faculty members are Ph.D. holders. They are very friendly and not too strict. The curriculum is good. We have two exams mainly. They are mid-term and end-term, so we don’t have much pressure.
Other: While playing sports or games, we have the best view of the mountains and clouds passing through them from the ground. It has one of the most beautiful campuses in India.
