One of the Best places to study.

Placements: More than 50% of the students got placed. A lot of good companies like GE, MBRDI, RBEI, Moog India etc. Had come to campus. The highest package offered in 2016 was around 10lpa. More than 50% students had done internship in good companies like Volvo, RBEI, NAL, MBRDI etc.

Infrastructure: Since it is one of the oldest and prestigious institutes, it offers a very good set of amenities and facilities overall. Institute has well-equipped labs, with tools and software from National Instruments. Also has labs set up by Bosch. Has a very good internet facility. Library is very large and has very good set of books and institute has access to various journals. Canteens are good and offer quality food.

Faculty: Faculty members are extremely knowledgeable, qualified and dedicated. Practical approaches of teaching are followed. The course curriculum has improved with time and makes student ready for industry. Also the courses are really helpful for those who wish to continue in academics.

Other: NITK is one of the best places to study in India. Students studying M.Tech get scholarship from MHRD. Mechatronics is an interesting subject, as we are moving from mechanical world to electronics. Campus also has a beach. Events and fests are really good.

NITK - one of the best NIT to study in.

Placements: Almost 40-50% of students were placed. The highest package was of 12 LPA by a semiconductor company for electrical related profiles whereas the lowest was 3.5 by a software company. Mercedez Benz, Bosch, and Moog India were often companies for placements. Roles offered were of 'Post Graduate Trainee' and 'Engineer-I'. Almost 30-40% of students were offered internships in various good MNCs.

Infrastructure: There are good labs such as software simulations, Automotive powertrain, and ECU by Bosch, Control Systems lab by Moog, Hydraulics lab, IC engine lab and most importantly Virtual Instrumentation lab. There is also good availability of Wi-FI and LAN connections through department and campus. The library is good but not sufficient for all students. It has a good collection of books. Also, internet, printout, and xerox facility is available In hostels, you'll see mostly LAN connections. Room cleaning is done every week. There are few new buildings for hostels where Wi-Fi and new amenities are present. Food is average throughout all hostel buildings. Private canteens are also available and food over there is good. Medical and hospital facility is also good and staff is helpful. Sports ground both indoor and outdoor is nice but is always crowded. Swimming pool is what I like the most.

Faculty: Faculty is average but qualified. Most faculty are Ph.D. and having a lot of experience. They're always happy to help students. However, few faculty guys are very strict and show attitude. They sometimes behave rudely also. Teaching quality is average. It varies from department to department. However, course content is relevant to the industry and makes the student industry-ready.

Other: This college is the top 3 NITs in India, so I chose this college. The best things are the facilities and tag you get. Most of the things are good over here. Teaching quality could be improved. Events (both technical and cultural) happens very frequently which keeps students engaging through-out the year. NITK is having its private beach, so one can every day enjoy the sea-side view and can have a good time. Scholarships are also available depends on individuals criteria.
