An overview of college of Engineering and technology, Bhubaneswar.
Placements: A lot of companies come to the college for placements. Though the number for the B.Tech courses is higher than that for M.Tech. For B.Tech, companies like Tata, Maruti, Robert Bosch, Vedanta, Indian navy come to the college among the big players, besides that many other medium-sized companies also come for the placements. The figures for the placed students in B.Tech is more than M.Tech. In my batch, we had a combined placement drive for B.Tech and M.Tech by Cyient, a leading aerospace company. And two students from B.Tech were placed. TCS also comes for its placement drive annually and a good number of students are placed in it.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good at the college, one of the best in the state of Odisha. Wi-fi is provided to all the students. Classes are also good and are conducted very strictly with a stress on the attendance. Books are there in the library, also we have a book bank and a digital library. I didn't live in the hostel so can't say about it. But there are three canteens in the college which provide food at reasonable costs. There is a gym on the campus.
Faculty: Our course had some very good faculty members. Well experienced and knowledgeable. Our branch had experienced teachers who have published journals. The course curriculum I felt needed some changes. Though there was a change in the course curriculum in the later batch. The course needed to be more industry-oriented to make students industry-ready.

Hi Ranjan,
You need to clear GATE exam. As M.Tech could be pursued only when GATE exam is cleared and once you clear that you also become eligible for Ph.D. So you should clear GATE exam.
