    Good campus, average job.
Placements: Around 90% of students got placed in my course. The highest package offered was 51 LPA. The average package (for B.Tech CSE/IT) is about 6.5 LPA. The lowest package is not always explicitly reported in recent public data, but holder placement reports suggest many offers start in the lower Lacs range (for example, in one year, the entry packages from big recruiters like Infosys or TCS were around 3.6 LPA). Some of the big names that frequently recruit from PSIT include Amazon, TCS, Infosys, Microsoft (they offered very high packages), Wipro, and Capgemini, who also come regularly.
Infrastructure: PSIT offers AC classrooms, high-speed Wi-Fi, well-equipped labs, and a large digital library. Hostels are clean with AC/non-AC rooms, good mess food, medical care, and strong sports facilities. Overall, the campus provides a comfortable and study-friendly environment.
Faculty: The teachers at PSIT are generally helpful and well-qualified, and most students find the teaching style clear and supportive. The curriculum is updated regularly and includes practical work, which helps make students industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate or difficult. Neither too easy nor extremely tough. The overall pass percentage remains high because classes, labs, and internal assessments keep students well prepared.
Other: I chose this course mainly because I was genuinely interested in technology and wanted a stream that offered both good learning and strong placement opportunities. The best part about the course is the practical exposure. Labs, projects, and regular coding sessions really help in understanding concepts better. The only thing I feel could improve is more industry-focused workshops and advanced elective options.

Shiny infrastructure, average teaching, and limited internships. PSIT needs depth beyond placements.
Placements: PSIT Kanpur's B.Tech CSE placements show that 80-85 percent of students are placed, but mostly in service firms. The highest package is 51 LPA (rare), with an average of 6 LPA-7 LPA. 1 percent of students got internships. 1% Top roles offered are SDE, QA, and analyst. Big names recruit few, most settled for mid-tier jobs. Reality is not entirely in the brochure they provide.
Infrastructure: PSIR Kanpur offers AC labs, smart classrooms, and a decent library, but the Wi-Fi is limited to 2GB/day. Hostels are basic, and the mess food is average and repetitive. Sports infrastructure exists but lacks culture. Medical aid is minimal. Facilities look good, but the depth is missing.
Faculty: PSIT CSE faculty are qualified, but teaching is often theory-heavy, lacking industry tools. Curriculum is outdated, rarely industry-ready. Exams are moderate, the pass rate is 90 percent, but real skill development is weak, with a focus more on grades than skill development and growth.
Other: I chose this course because there is so much scope in it for the future. The best thing about it is that we learn to code, make projects, etc. All I wish is that the teaching method and ideology of the faculty teaching us would be better. Fests are the most boring. Throughout the day you would have to roam the college, getting bored and stuff. Real enjoyment begins at night.

The worst college of this century.
Placements: There are very few placements here. You can get placements off campus but do not expect anything from this college. It is the worst this year till November there are only 160 campus placements. Do not expect any good placements from here and the package is mostly 3 to 4LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good and the facilities are also average. The mess and canteen food are not good and the canteen food is also very overpriced. According to the taste there are no good sports facilities gym or medical facilities. The rest of the things are okay and there is no Wi-Fi .
Faculty: The curriculum is the worst the college is affiliated to Aktu University which is popular for tough exams and tough checking. Many students get back in many subjects and the course is also not relevant to todays market and industry needs. You have to do self study in order to attain placement and the faculty is the worst here no support knowledge or anything.
Other: This is the worst college. Do not come here and waste your time and money.

Decent college with improving placements and opportunities.
Placements: 65 to 70 percent of students from our course got placed. The highest package is about 30 to 50LPA and the average package is around 3.5 to 4 LPA. Companies like TCS Infosys Wipro and some startups visited the campus. Internships are also offered. Overall placements are good with the right preparation.
Infrastructure: The college has good Wi-Fi clean classrooms computer labs with the needed software and a library with enough books. Hostel facilities are average and the mess food is okay but not always great. The canteen has basic food options. Medical help is available on campus and there are sports grounds and indoor games for students.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and have good knowledge of the subjects and the teaching quality is decent and easy to understand. The course curriculum is mostly relevant and helps students learn the skills needed for the industry. Semester exams are moderate not too easy not too hard. If students study regularly they can pass without much stress. The pass percentage is generally good as most students clear their exams.
Other: I am from the CS AIML course and our batch has good learning exposure. I chose this course because I am interested in coding and new technologies. The best things about the course are the practical labs and placement chances. The college conducts events and fests that are fun and the campus crowd is friendly. Connectivity to the campus is decent and the surroundings are calm. Scholarships and extracurricular activities are also available for students who want to participate.

It is a very good college in academics and infrastructure.
Placements: The percentage of students that are shown in the hordings is not actual, but from the students that are allowed to appear for the placement, the maximum chances are that they will get placed. The minimum package is not known to everyone, but it should be at least 2-3 LPA. The top recruiters are TCS, Infosys, HCL, JTC, etc. However, the students who got internships is comparatively low, because getting an internship in large companies is quite competitive.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Almost all the classrooms have the facilities of ACs and projectors, except for some labs. There are more than enough books in the library, from simple semester books to competition books for the car, GATE PYQs. The hostel is also good, except there is very strictness; you need to call your parents for permission when you are going outside, even for small things.
Faculty: Professors here are quite knowledgeable and well-qualified. They are also helpful if you want to study more, or you can go to their cabins for further discussions. The course curriculum is quite relevant as compared to other private colleges, as there are PSA (Problem Solving Aspect) and VT (Verbal Training) from the first year, which makes students industry-ready. Exams are moderate level but a little tougher than the AKTU exams.

    Very good and outstanding college.
Placements: The percentage of students shown in the hoardings is not accurate, but among the students allowed to appear for placements, most have a high chance of getting placed. The minimum package is not known to everyone but should be not less than 2–3 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Infosys, HCL, JTC, etc. Internships are comparatively fewer because securing an internship in large companies is quite competitive.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Almost all classrooms have ACs and projectors, except some labs. The library has more than enough books, from semester textbooks to competitive books for CAT, GATE, and previous year questions. The hostel is also good, although there is strictness, you need to call your parents for permission even for small things when going outside.
Faculty: The professors are knowledgeable and well-qualified. They are helpful if you want to study more, and you can visit their cabins for further discussions. The course curriculum is quite relevant compared to other private colleges, as it includes PSA (Problem Solving Aspect) and VT (Verbal Training) from the first year, making students industry-ready. Exams are of moderate difficulty but slightly tougher than AKTU exams.

With just 40 percentile in JEE Main OBC, PSIT Kanpur is kinda out of reach.its OBC closing rank usually lies in the 8–10 lakh range. Even with home state quota, you’d need a much better rank.
