How NTA Allots JEE Main 2026 Exam Centre to Candidates?
NTA allots the JEE Main exam centre based on the city preferences submitted by the candidates during the NTA JEE Main registration process. Here is the whole process:
- City Selection: During registration, candidates are asked to select 4 exam cities in order of preference, based on their current/permanent address.
- Automated Allotment: NTA uses a computerised system to assign cities. The system takes care of candidates' preferred choices. However, NTA reserves the right to assign a different city or merge cities if needed due to logistics or low candidate numbers.
- City Intimation Slip: The JEE Main 2026 advance city slip is released before the admit card, showing your allotted city, not the exact centre, to help with travel planning well in advance.
- Admit Card Release: The allotted exact exam centre, address, and shift details are provided in the JEE Main admit card, which is now available on the official website.
