How to check JEE Main exam centre 2026

Locating Your JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Exam Centre Before Exam Day

Before the exam day, it is a wise idea to locate the JEE Mains exam centre. This will ensure that you do not have trouble reaching the exam centre on time on the day of the exam.

To locate the JEE Mains centre:

  • Use Google Maps: The address of the exam centre will be printed on the admit card. Just copy and paste the address or the centre name on Google Maps and check the route, traffic and estimated travel time from your location.
  • Visit the centre physically: The best idea is to visit the exam centre in person before the exam. This will help you have a trial run of the route, traffic and other important details that will help you reach the centre on time on the exam day. This will help reduce anxiety and stress on the day of the exam.

How to Change Allotted Exam Centre in JEE Main Session 2?

The allotted JEE Mains examination centre cannot be changed, in any case. NTA provides the candidates with an opportunity to select their preferred exam city during the registration process. NTA makes every effort to allot the exam centre in the preferred exam city of the candidates.

If a candidate is not happy with the allotted centre, they cannot change it. NTA will not accept any request in this regard. Candidates have to appear for the exam from the allotted exam centre only.

How NTA Allots JEE Main 2026 Exam Centre to Candidates?

NTA allots the JEE Main exam centre based on the city preferences submitted by the candidates during the NTA JEE Main registration process. Here is the whole process:

  • City Selection: During registration, candidates are asked to select 4 exam cities in order of preference, based on their current/permanent address.
  • Automated Allotment: NTA uses a computerised system to assign cities. The system takes care of candidates' preferred choices. However, NTA reserves the right to assign a different city or merge cities if needed due to logistics or low candidate numbers.
  • City Intimation Slip: The JEE Main 2026 advance city slip is released before the admit card, showing your allotted city, not the exact centre, to help with travel planning well in advance.
  • Admit Card Release: The allotted exact exam centre, address, and shift details are provided in the JEE Main admit card, which is now available on the official website.

The cutoff for Chemical Engineering at Nirma Institute is generally between 2000-2500. The competition has been increased over past three years. Earlier, students could take admissions at a rank of around 7244. Competition in Chemical Engineering is neither very high nor very low.

While a JEE Main score isn't strictly mandatory for everyone, having one is a big plus. Amity University Mohali mostly looks at your school grades (merit-based), but a good JEE Main score makes your application stronger. High scores in national exams can also help you qualify for scholarships.
