For getting admission in an engineering course right in the second year (Lateral Entry),you can qualify in one of three ways.The most direct path is finishing a three-year or two-year Diploma in almost any engineering subject (you cannot use diplomas in Agriculture, Pharmacy, or Architecture). For this, you need at least 45% marks on your diploma, or only 40% if you are from the SC/ST category. Another option is available if you have a B.Sc. degree from a recognized university. You need at least 45% marks (or 40% for SC/ST) and you must have studied Math in your high school (10+2) exams. A very important thing to know is that B.Sc. students will only be offered a place if seats are still open after all the qualified Diploma students have already been accepted. Lastly, if you have a D. Voc. (Vocational Diploma) in a field that is the same or very similar to the engineering subject, you can also apply.
