For admission in engineering program directly in second year(Lateral Entry) , there are three main qualification paths.The most direct way is passing a three year or two year Diploma in almost any engineering subject. The eligibility for this path requires a minimum score of 45% marks on the diploma which is lowered to 40% for those belonging to the SC/ST category. The option excludes diploma in Agriculture, Pharmacy, or Architecture. A second way is for applicants holding a B.Sc. degree from a recognized university. These individuals need at least 45% marks (or 40% for SC/ST) and must have studied Mathematics during their high school (10+2) exams. A crucial point is that B.Sc. degree holders will only be offered a seat if vacancies remain after all eligible Diploma students have been admitted. Lastly, anyone who has completed a D. Voc. in a field that is the same or related to the engineering program is also qualified.
