For admission to the RGIPT BTech programme, the institute accepts IIT JEE Advanced scores. Candidates must have a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ST) in Class 12 for JEE (Advanced) eligibility. In case of vacant seats after JEE (Advanced) admissions, seats may be filled with JEE (Main) qualified students with 80% aggregate in Class 12.

The institute allows professionally employed persons to pursue MBA programme under part-time category. Such a candidate will continues duties of service at sponsoring institute if their office is within 50 km distance. Candidate must be a regular employee of sponsoring organisation for at least two years. Candidates will have to provide NoC from their head of institution. These candidates are also exempted from CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT/CUET-PG.

Letter of appointment and Form VI issued by employer of two years of service are needed during written test or interview. Candidates must also submit an undertaking that they must continue to submit form VI till the end of the programme.

For Masters in business administration one need good marks for the MBA degree.You must also clear CAT exam after the degree.And there must be good score in CAT exam.The minimum cutoff for MBA at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) in 2023 is a candidate must hold a minimum of 60% in 12th standard, with a relaxation to 55% for SC/ST/PwD candidates. RGIPT fee structure for a two-year M.Tech programme is broken down into multiple components, such as tuition fee, hostel fee and one-time fee. Apart from the tuition fee of INR 40,000, candidates are required to pay the one-time fee of INR 16,000 which includes admission fee, alumni membership fee, student's welfare fund, thesis fees and caution money (refundable) and the hostel fee of INR 60,000.

STEP 1: Application Process

Fill out the online application form available on the RGIPT website. In the online application form, candidates must provide their personal phone number and email ID and must pay the non-refundable application fees of INR 500 (for General and OBC candidates) and, INR 250 (for SC, ST and, PwD category candidates) before filing of application form.

STEP 2: Selection Criteria

For the full-time regular registration category, candidates are shortlisted based on the GATE score or written test or interview or on the basis of any combination of these as declared by the individual department. For admission under other categories, candidates are exempted from appearing in the written test.

STEP 3: Seat Allotment

The institute declares the final merit list of candidates who are required to appear for the counselling process and pay the RGIPT M.Tech fees.

• 15% of seats are reserved for SC, 7.5% seats for ST, 27% seats for OBC (non-creamy layer) and, 10% seats for are reserved for EWS candidates in each discipline
• A relaxation of 5% marks or 0.5 CPI (on a 10-point scale) shall be admissible on the marks obtained in the qualifying degree by SC and ST candidates
• 5% reservation (horizontal) shall apply for candidates with physical disability (minimum 40% disability)
