SGSITS, Indore: worst infrastructure and fee structure for a so-called government-funded institute.
Placements: In my branch, placement is 80-90%, and the average package is around 6 LPA. The maximum package is around 25 lakhs per annum. Top recruiting companies include Oracle, Mastercard, Goldman Sachs, etc. The placement is 50-60% for other branches like Civil, Mechanical, etc.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is the worst. There is no cleanliness in the washrooms and classrooms. The classrooms, washrooms, and main building infrastructure are broken. The walls and ceiling have cracks. The canteen is unclean and disgusting. Basic facilities like computer labs (still very old) and a very big library are provided.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, especially the main subject teachers. The teaching quality of the Physics faculty is very bad; they just yell at you for no reason and don't explain the subject well while expecting us to get full marks. The curriculum is very irrelevant. As engineering students, we are being taught Biology. I have chosen Computer Science, but in the first year, we have to study every single branch. Semester exams are very difficult. The questions taught in the classroom are very different from what's being asked in the actual semester exam.
Other: The fees are very high and irrelevant. The fee structure requires hostel students to pay for parking charges, which is just nonsense, and the fees have doubled from the past year. The infrastructure and quality have decreased.

The quality of the crowd is very good as there are many students with a great percentile.
Placements: The placement percentage in Computer Science engineering is 60-70% with an average package of 8-9 LPA. The feel is very high with respect to the government institute, so the Return on investment is not that good. The highest package is 44 LPA. Mass recruiters also come. Top companies are MasterCard, Oracle, and Goldman Sachs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very bad with respect to the facilities. The fee is approximately 8.5lakh. The Wi-Fi and drinking water on the campus are very poor. Classrooms are also not that modern. The library is okay. The hostel has a limited capacity for students.
Faculty: This is the best part of our college. What I like most is the dedication of faculty members to teaching. Most of the faculty members are highly qualified and have completed their studies at higher institutions. The curriculum is also not that hard. Maintaining a good CGPA is possible.
Other: The college is situated in the centre of Indore, the city life and connectivity are very good.

SGSITS into summer from the perspective of a student who just lived 3 years here exploring domains.
Placements: So, mostly this year, what I have seen is that IT and CSE had placements mostly in Goldman Sachs and Oracle, with an average placement of 13-15 LPA. Mostly, 89-93% of students were capable of being placed. Roles include software development, AI engineer, DevOps, product management, financial analyst, and data analyst.
Infrastructure: Labs and everything are excellent, with great faculty and good lab technical support. Wi-Fi is great and works fine, but sometimes it lags a lot. Hostels are average to mid-range, and good for people who don't expect luxury. Sports and games have a separate complex.
Faculty: Everything is great here. Faculty members have Ph.D. degrees, and the majority of our faculty members are GATE rankers, so you can rely on them. The course curriculum is a little bit outdated, but since 2025 onwards, AI is mandatory for every course. Semester exams are mostly theory here.
Other: I would say join clubs in the first year, learn to code in the second year, and develop your character extremely in the third year. If our course had a mini capture-the-flag type hackathon, it would have been better. Many students can't write basic code in the third year. The fest is good for people who want to explore life.

Must avoid college, it used to be a good way back, but now it's just the worst.
Placements: Placements this year have been the worst across all the branches. Less than 50% of students are hardly placed in EC. Every passing year, placements are getting worse and worse. Forget about companies coming for internships. Better placements can be achieved off-campus.
Infrastructure: Age-old, outdated labs with a list of experiments that is many years old. Practical classes are just another theory class. Lab assistants are way too egoistic. Many pieces of lab equipment are not working properly. The hostel is the worst too. It's better to take apartments near the college.
Faculty: A few faculty members are good. Many are average to below average. The teaching of all the teachers is not such that you can understand the concepts just by focusing in class. You also have to put in a lot of effort outside the class on your own to understand. Semester exams are of a moderate difficulty level.

It is good but costly and needs improvement in terms of the fee.
Placements: It is a well-known college in terms of placements. There is a decent placement rate over a long period of time. Around 75 percent of students (IT) got placed the previous year. The highest package offered is 43 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course include TCS, Infosys, Amazon, Microsoft, Deloitte, Tech Mahindra, Goldman Sachs, etc. Around 40 percent of students got internships in companies like Optum, L&T, Infosys, etc. The on-campus rate is low. Top roles offered are software engineer, animation designers, game developers, etc.
Infrastructure: Classrooms in the IT building are decent, but in other buildings, the maintenance of the classrooms is not up to the mark. It needs renovation. Wi-Fi is only available in some areas. The quality of hostel food is not appreciable, but average at the canteen and mess. It needs improvement in many ways.
Faculty: Teachers are good. Teachers are interactive, and students get personal interaction from them. The course curriculum is relevant, but not for all (new) subjects, like Biology for engineers, which is introduced in 2025. Electrical and Physics is difficult compared to other subjects. 33 percent is required to pass exams. 75 percent attendance is mandatory here.
Other: This college tasks a lot of money. It charges 1.21 lakhs per semester for IT and BME courses, and 1.07 lakhs for other courses. Still, facilities are not up to the mark. It is the worst part of this college.

The facilities and placements are decent, but the fees are a bit high.
Placements: Currently, I am in the 1st year of the SGSITS Indore Electrical Engineering branch. Approximately 60% of the total students were placed in core and technical sectors. The highest package was 19 LPA offered by ORACLE Inc. in a technical role. The average was 7.5 LPA. The lowest package was 3.5 LPA offered by TCS. The top recruiters include Havells, Oracle, Deloitte, and TCS. The top roles were in core and technical sectors.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided by the college are decent, but the fees being charged for them are a bit too high. The classrooms and labs are equipped with all the required instruments. The library is good, and a lot of books are available here that are needed for every course. The food is decent, but again, the fees are very high. The total fees for a semester are 48,000 rupees. The sports facilities are not that good, but you can play almost all the casual games. The gymkhana is good and is equipped with all the workout equipment, and the charges are 400 rupees per month.
Faculty: Teachers were qualified, and almost all were PhD holders. The teaching quality varies from teacher to teacher, but you can understand if you pay attention in class. The curriculum, I feel, is a bit outdated, which is the case with almost every engineering college. The semester exams are fairly tough, but you can score well if you attend the lectures and study a bit before the exam. The pass percentage is 33%.
Other: I chose this course because, at my rank, I was not getting better branches at good colleges, and I wanted to go into the core sector also. My home is just 100 km from Indore, so that was another reason for choosing this college. Everything is fine, but I feel the fee is a bit too high. The tuition fee is 1,05,000 per semester, but you can also get a scholarship. There are no such fests at all in our college, sadly.
