Sinhgad College of Engineering is generally considered a Tier 2 institution. It is well-regarded in Maharashtra and has good infrastructure and faculty, but it may not have the same level of national recognition or research output as Tier 1 colleges, which typically include institutes like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs). Tier 2 colleges like Sinhgad offer quality education and opportunities for students, but they usually have a more regional focus.

The Universal Group of Institutions is mostly a Tier 2 institution. It was started in the year 2009 as a private college affiliated with the Punjab Technical University, which offers various programs, including but not limited to engineering and management.
