It is an outstanding college. It has world-class infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Almost 100% of the students from our course got placement. The highest salary package offered was 8 LPA, and the average salary package offered was 5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 3 LPA. Students did an internship in NITs and IITs. Almost 100% of the students got an internship. Many of our batchmates got placement in government colleges, universities like Sikkim University and NITs. Even some are pursuing a PhD in a very reputed university.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility and local network in our college were good. In all labs, computers were connected with the internet. Some of the research labs are funded by AICTE and ISRO. Projectors are available in all classrooms and labs. It provides a departmental and central library. Both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned rooms are available in the hostel. Hostel rules and regulations were followed by all students. Quality of food served is good. There are many canteens inside the campus. Night canteen was also available in all hostels. It has dispensary inside the campus with good doctors and sisters. Established Marena for indoor games was fantastic. It provides a world-class gym. Several tennis courts, volleyball courts, football ground and cricket ground are available. For all the sports we had the instructors to guide us.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college were very helpful, well-qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality was very good and informative. Our faculty members help the weak students, and they gave a proper direction to the good students. A practical demonstration was fantastic. The course curriculum is relevant and updated based on the company needs. It makes the students industry-ready.
Other: I have chosen this course because to improve my knowledge in the field of technology and SMIT was the best option for me due to the availability of research labs and well-known faculty members. The best things about the course are we had an opportunity to move into different directions in the field of technology due to that so many specialisation subjects are offered by the department. The department called so many industries expert for the specialisation subjects, but it should improve the course by calling some resource person from foreign universities or industry. Students are well-groomed by the faculty members. There were so many activities that were initiated by SMIT for the betterment of us. Even the graduate student can interact with masters students, and they can share their ideas. The surrounding of the campus is also very good. We can get the things easily.

It is the best college I have ever seen.
Placements: Our college provides 100% placements. All the students got placed in established companies, and one student got admission in a well-established university. Some students got placed in well-developed companies in Kolkata, while some got jobs in the government sector.
Infrastructure: There are well-established labs in our college. The quality of the food served in our college is very good. This institute has a huge library, and we can issue up to 5 books. The quality of the food served in our canteen is also good.
Faculty: All the teachers here are well experienced. I really enjoyed my course. The course curriculum is very relevant, and the entire syllabus is up to the mark. We have two seasonal exams.
Other: Our college has well Wi-Fi facility and very peaceful surrounding to study.

Very good college with qualified teachers and good curriculum.
Placements: 100 percent students got internship in various renowned companies. The students got various opportunities to showcase their potential in different renowned companies and got the opportunity to learn about recent trends of computer Science and engineering.
Infrastructure: SMIT has very good infrastructure for academic was well as for research activities. The classrooms are well-equipped with projectors and internet connectivity. The labs are very well-equipped. Hostels facilities are very good and the quality of food is well maintained.
Faculty: The faculty members are very qualified and every faculty member has special area of specialisation. The faculty members are very helpful qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is very good. The curriculum is made considering the recent trends to make the student industry ready.
Other: I have chosen M.Tech course. The faculty members taking this course was very qualified.

It has good infrastructure, library facility with a friendly and encouraging environment.
Placements: SMIT offers placements for M.Tech course. I did not avail placements offered by the institute. Top recruiting companies like Microsoft, IBM, etc., visit our college for placements. The project was done in-house where every student with their guide published papers for their respective projects. For post-graduate programs institute is highly research-oriented.
Infrastructure: Labs and other infrastructure in our college are very good. The courses offered are also as per the AICTE formulation. Hostels are well-maintained, and it provides a free Wi-Fi facility for all students.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are highly qualified, and they take classes in their specialised area. They are very helpful and encouraging. They are knowledgeable. The course curriculum is relevant, and electives provided are industry-oriented. It helps the students to decide what are their subject of interest.
Other: I have chosen this course because I wanted to pursue masters in the technical course. It helped me upgrade my knowledge and qualification. I wish the college should provide some industry experts for the workshop. Yearly fest named Karlav, which is a technical and cultural fest is organised at our college, and many colleges join in it.

It is an excellent institute to study with world-class infrastructure and academic standards.
Placements: Around 100% of the placements are provided by the college. Most importantly, we did the latest projects based on the latest technologies. We got an opportunity to involve in various research and development activities. The internships were provided by the TNP cell of the institute. Some top recruitments were made with an average salary of varying from Rs. 35,000 per month - Rs. 40,000 per month approximately.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at SMIT was a world-class standard. The labs and classrooms were well-equipped with the latest technologies and software. High-speed internet was also provided by the college. The hostel includes all amenities required for students. Some of them were hot water supply, night canteen, and Wi-Fi. A room was shared by 2 students and they had a bed, study table, bench, and a big almirah.
Faculty: Teachers of our college were well qualified, helpful and knowledgeable. The quality and standard of teachers were excellent. Students can approach them and discuss their problems. The course curriculum prepares you for the real-world and students are industry-ready.
Other: I opted for the course because I wanted to pursue post-graduation. I also received my scholarship from the government.

Very good college with all modern facilities and excellent placement record.
Placements: 100% of students were placed in different organizations with the highest package 7 Lacs and the lowest package 3.5 Lacs. 80% students got internship. One of the student got the post of project head in a reputed software company and one got the post of Associate director in an government organisation.
Infrastructure: Branch wise independent classrooms with Wi-Fi and all modern electronics device enabled. Different labs with huge number of high end computers and different equipments. Hostels infrastructure are very good with all modern facilities. Library is at per state of art level.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and highly qualified and having good command over the subject they teach. The are from proper computer Science and engineering background. The quality of teaching is excellent and at per the industry ready. The course curriculum is relevant.

Good infrastructure and great teaching.
Placements: Everyone, 100% students got placed from our batch. Mostly they are working as faculty in various organisation. Some are working in reputed companies. Some are doing research in various fields and pursuing Ph.D. from various reputed organisation of India and abroad. Minimum salary is seven Lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure available in department : Department has many well-equipped labs with good machines and all necessary software. Classrooms are well furnished. Wi-Fi is there in entire campus. Facilities in hostel: Hostel rooms are good, clean and nice ambiance.
Faculty: Teachers in department : There are many knowledgeable and Ph.D. holder teachers in CSE Department. They use modern tools for teaching. Course curriculum is very relevant. You can do M.Tech in various fields of computer Science. There are research labs useful for M.Tech courses.

I have BE in electronics and communication, can I apply for M.Tech in computer science and engineering?

Yes, you can apply for sure. The only thing is that you have to give your Gate or respective entrance if any college conduct in CS. I have seen many of my friends getting a good rank irrespective of the branch they come from. I am talking about CSE branch though. All the best.
