To get admissions into the M.Tech course at SMIT Sikkim Manipal University, candidates are required to complete the basic eligibility criteria first, followed by the valid scores in the accepted entrance exam. SMIT requires applicants to have obtained at least 55% of the possible points in their final recently qualifying exam in the relevant field to get to be admitted. Still, for B.Tech programs, the candidate's performance in the SMIT entrance exam or other recognized entrance examinations, for example the JEE/MET/SMIT Online Test, and for M.Tech programs, the candidate's performance in the SMET test or a valid GATE score, determines the admission process.

Based on the scores of the MET (Manipal Entrance Test), the cut-off marks for Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) are determined. Cut-off marks are the minimum scores required for a candidate to be admitted to SMIT. Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology will release the SMIT 2023 B.Tech cutoff after the completion of all rounds of counseling. As the counseling rounds will be conducted separately for different categories of admission, the SMIT B.Tech cutoff marks 2023 will also be available separately.
