B.E. in Biomedical Engineering - Batch of 2025
4.0
The college has good infrastructure and good placement in core-related fields.
Placements: Of the passing out batch, they were placed in the Healthwatch company, which mostly deals with cardiovascular health and health records, and their package is 3 LPA. For us, the top companies are GE Hamilton, Philips, etc. We got an internship at Focus Imaging Systems, which deals with medical equipment, and they train students based on their areas of interest. Initially, we were offered roles as sales engineers.
Infrastructure: In the college, we have Wi-Fi facilities for each department separately, and the labs are very well-equipped. The classrooms are very neat and comfortable for students, and especially the libraries, which are very well-stocked with study materials. In the hostel, the food quality is not good, and medical facilities are not provided in a proper manner. Sports and games are not conducted in the hostel.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful to us in clarifying doubts on subjects, and they are very well-qualified and knowledgeable about our course and its outcomes. Their teaching methods are excellent and easy to understand. In each semester, we had some difficult subjects like M4 and Signal Processing, but with the help of our teachers, we overcame them, and the pass percentage is 75%.
Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in the medical field. The best part of my course is helping patients with comfortable treatment methods and biocompatibility in implementation.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is well-maintained and highly developed for our department. Wi-Fi is available in all the surroundings of our college. The library is well-organized. The quality of the hostel is very good, and the food is very hygienic. Medical facilities are available near us.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful and very kindful towards us. They were very knowledgeable. The teaching quality is very excellent. Yes, the course is curriculum relevant. Yes, it makes the industry ready. No, it is very easy because of our faculty members, more than 80 percent.
Other: I loved the course, so I had chosen this course. My course is related to medical devices. Nothing is to be improved; all were good, and I loved it as it is. Many events and fests were conducted in our college.

Value for the money but needs to improve placements.
Placements: For the past years, there is no proper placement facility for all the students. One of them placed themselves by attending off-campus interviews. The internship for students is not properly arranged. They need to improve the internship help from the second year and place the students in good companies in their final year.
Infrastructure: Good in infrastructure. In the hostel, there were a lot of issues in the past years, but now all the problems have been resolved by the management and now it's good. It needs to be maintained properly for the upcoming years. The college infrastructure and lab facilities are good at this level.
Faculty: Good staff facilities, but not permanent staff or head of the department. They need to improve the admission of students in all the departments. There are fewer students in some departments, so the staff facilities are lesser than in the other departments.

We get many companies, and our college has a tie-up with Japanese companies also.
Placements: Some many have placed in all company in the placements and getting more than 50000 salary in tier 2 & 3 companies in the placements, and we thank our placement training sir for giving 100% placements in all companies and they give well coaching for the placement.
Infrastructure: We have advanced labs in our college and a library in the college campus. We provide well-maintained labs, classrooms, conference halls, auditoriums, and library. We have well-maintained hostel rooms and we have medical facilities, and the facilities have an approach to join sports activities.
Faculty: Teachers are very good and helpful for our studies, and facilities are an approach to doing many extracurricular activities in the college companies. The labs are very neat and maintained properly, and university practical exams are going on, so facilities are helping to study.
Other: Campus is very neat and clean, and facilities help with doing extracurricular activities.

Absolutely satisfied.
Placements: Around 50% of Biomedical Engineering students at SMIT secure placements, with salary packages ranging from 1.8 LPA to 6 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Infosys, and Cognizant. Good maintenance, well studying, handle many equipment, attend internship.
Infrastructure: The department offers well-equipped labs, smart classrooms, a library with campus-wide Wi-Fi, and modern research facilities for hands-on learning and innovation. Games conducted like carrom, chess, volleyball, handball, badminton, ball badminton, etc. Will available.
Faculty: The teachers are qualified and supportive, ensuring good teaching quality. The curriculum is industry-relevant, and semester exams are moderately challenging with a high pass percentage. Each sub has a good percentage; some sub only game low percentage.
Other: I chose this course for its blend of innovation and practical applications in technology and healthcare. The best aspects are hands-on projects, industry-relevant curriculum, and supportive faculty, though more advanced lab equipment could enhance learning. The campus offers vibrant events, good connectivity, scholarships, and diverse extracurricular activities.

Good college and would highly recommend to have a great future.
Placements: Both top companies and startup companies have came for our placements in all departments. The placement training is really helpful, they train us for having a perfect worklife. Many students have been placed recently, they all got placed at good companies.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is really good and the library has all the books needed for all departments. The canteen food is worth the money food. The hostel is not so good and the hostel food is also not so good but it is really safe and has strict atmosphere.
Faculty: My department staffs are very helpful. They give us more knowledge not only in studies but also in every aspects. The monthly assessment preparation are really helpful during the semester. The teachers are qualified and has great knowledge about their respective subjects.
Other: College is having more events nowadays. Has sports facilities and they allow us to participate in other College and in state level competitions.

Really good faculty, but absolutely dissatisfied about college campuses and internships.
Placements: 50% of students were placed in our course. INR 15k–50k per month is the average package, but it can increase depending on your skills. Major hospitals recruit for these courses. 30% of students get through an internship in a hospital. Biomedical engineers in hospitals and hospital managers in biomedical services are the top roles offered.
Infrastructure: Facilities are all below average. I do not prefer college hostels or food. It is not worth the money; hostel foods are not of good quality, and hostel students don't eat the food because it gives them food poisoning. The hostels are not in good condition; they don't even have washing machines or theaters.
Faculty: All faculty are good and knowledgeable. Since the curriculum does not have all the equipment for training, it does not make the students ready for industry. Exams have some kind of difficulty, and 50% is the pass percentage. The average student does not pass the semester exam.
Other: I like the medical course, so I chose this course. This course is most relevant to hospital devices. It is better to cover more interesting subjects. No events happen here; campus surroundings are good; SC caste and other scholarships are available for counseling students; no extracurricular activities.
