Supportive faculty, good labs, and campus, but limited placements and mostly off-campus internships.
Placements: 30 out of 140 students from our course get placed through campus recruitment, translating to a placement rate of 21 percent. The highest package offered is 5 LPA while the lowest is 3 LPA with an average package of 3.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Mirafra, Infosys, Karmik, Brevera and Light Mechanics. When it comes to internships almost all students secure internships although the majority are off campus. Only 20 students receive on campus internship offers. Companies such as Brevera, Karmik and Mirafra provide on campus internship opportunities. The top roles offered to students are in VLSI design, Digital Electronics, and Embedded Systems.
Infrastructure: The department offers dedicated labs for VLSI and Embedded Systems, with high-speed Wi-Fi and well-ventilated classrooms. Students have good access to a well-equipped library. Hostel facilities are satisfactory, with consistent water and electricity supply. While the mess of food is average, it is manageable. Medical support is available on campus through a health center. The institute also provides excellent sports and recreational facilities, including indoor and outdoor games. Overall, the infrastructure effectively supports both academic and personal development.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful and approachable. They are always ready to clarify doubts and support students academically. They are well-qualified and knowledgeable in their respective subjects, and the overall teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is updated and aligned with academic standards, though it only partially prepares students for the industry. Semester exams are of moderate difficulty, requiring consistent effort to pass. The approximate pass percentage is around 40%, indicating a fairly challenging academic environment that encourages serious study.

Absolutely satisfied with the college campus.
Placements: About 20% of students were placed in good companies. The highest package was 20 LPA and the lowest was 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies included EG India and IBM. Around 20-25% of students got internships in my course, with software development and data analysis being the main roles.
Infrastructure: Our college has a beautiful, nature-friendly campus. We have unlimited Wi-Fi facilities, and the college lab contains all the modern equipment necessary for the particular courses. Our library has many facilities and over 1,000 books. The hostel also has unlimited Wi-Fi and provides good food; I have never found a college with such tasty food. We have a gym and grounds to play many sports, along with 24/7 medical facilities within the campus.
Faculty: All the teachers are helpful and qualified. Some teachers even assisted me during tough times. They are friendly, and the course curriculum is relevant, making students industry-ready. Normally, electronics and communication engineering exams are a little tougher, and here it is the same, with a pass percentage of 40.
Other: I chose this course because of its future scope. My course helped me gain knowledge about electronics as well as communication in modern technology. One main improvement should be that the course content should relate to modern mechanics rather than outdated analog mechanics. I was selected for the Reliance Foundation scholarship at the beginning of the course, as well as for the embedded internship course for one year.

Review of St. Joseph Engineering College (SJEC) campus, Vamanjoor, Mangalore.
Placements: 50-60% 20 LPA - the highest package. Infosys, Congnizant, Amazon etc. Our placement cell is very good and they try hard to get all the candidates to get placed in good companies with the highest package. There is a regular test on aptitude. Some workshops on placements and a lot more.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility in every department. Classrooms are well-equipped with fans, projectors etc. Labs are well-equipped with computers, components required for export etc. The hostel is surrounded by some green trees. The hostel is also good, even the food provided is also good. Hostel wardens are very kind and caring.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and supportive. Teachers are ready to help you with study-related issues or any personal issues. The course curriculum will be somewhat relevant. VTU sem exams are a bit difficult for electronics and communication engineering students. Some subjects in electronics and communication engineering are a bit tricky like Network theory, Electronic Devices and many more subjects that need special attention.
Other: Campus is very beautiful, full of greenary and peaceful environment.

It is a beautiful campus with good placements.
Placements: For the year 2020, in our course, around 80% of the students got placed. The highest salary package offered is 22 LPA, the lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA and the average salary package offered is around 3.5 LPA. Top recruiting core companies are Karmic and Tessolve Semiconductor. IT companies which visited here are ITC Infotech, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Wipro and DXC. All students got an internship as it was mandatory to complete an internship for the completion of the course. A batch of students worked at Karmic. Few students worked as interns for startups, and out of which, one was based in the college called D&D SmartLabs. Few students worked for DRDO. Top roles offered to the students are developer, system trainee and IT consultant.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi for students has a decent speed, but it is not made available on phones. Labs are well-furnished and are upgraded every year. Classrooms have comfortable seating and worth enough with lights and fans. There is a projector in every class. The library is well-furnished and is upgraded with new volumes of books. There are an e-library and a browsing station. There are air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned rooms in the hostel. Each room is shared with two students, and each student has a bed, table, chair and a wardrobe. Mess food has variety and has been improved over the years. There are a canteen and a cafeteria on the campus which serves food at decent rates. There is a doctor on the campus for 24 hours. If there is an emergency, then students are directed to for Muller's Hospital Bangalore. The sports department is well-housed with equipment, and there is a separate gym for boys and girls in the hostel.
Faculty: Lecturers are helpful in clearing doubts and project work. All the lecturers are qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality exceeds all other colleges in the region. The course curriculum is outdated and does not meet industry standards. Add-on courses are needed to stay updated with industry standards.
Other: I have chosen this course because of my interest in electronics. The curriculum has to be improved, and the outdated syllabus has to be dealt with at the earliest. It is a beautiful and lush green campus. A cultural fest is organised in the odd semester, and the even semester has a technical fest and college day.

I am satisfied because of faculty members and good placements in 2017.
Placements: Almost 90-95% of the students got placed, and the rest of them wanted to do further studies. Top recruiting companies for our course are TCS, Infosys, Cadence, Robosoft, etc. The maximum salary package offered was 4 LPA, but it would increase as core companies are also invited on the campus for placements.
Infrastructure: Food served at the college hostel is good. The college hostel is on the college campus. There is a Chapel on the college campus and sports area. The hostel provides a gym for boys and girls in their respective hostel buildings. There is no ragging of any sort.
Faculty: I am satisfied because of faculty members and a very disciplined approach by the college administrative staff members. Professors are knowledgeable and are always ready to help you, and they always keep you disciplined. The course curriculum is relevant. The college makes students industry-ready and also ready to get placed.
Other: Annual fest named Tiara Tedxsjec is conducted here.

The college has an excellent teaching facility and has good placements and internships.
Placements: Last year, 90% of the students were placed, and the placement is still going on. Most of the companies visit for the campus drive such as Intel, Himachal Pradesh, etc. The students are given an opportunity to attend the Google interview, which is held at Nitte, and it provides internship at different states to get more knowledge. You can choose your place for an internship.
Infrastructure: The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled. It has all the necessary equipment for sports and game such as basketball, volleyball ball, athletic, table tennis and much more. Free medical facilities are available for the students. It has a large library, which has almost all the required books. The classrooms and the laboratories are well-maintained.
Faculty: There are different faculty for the different course. It has a large campus, and for each course, it has a separate building. The faculty members are close to the students. Each faculty has their cabin. The students can ask doubts in their cabin. The principal is friendly with the students. The most important is the facilities that are provided here is worth the money.

Our college was said to be the top college in Mangalore with good facilities and great results.
Placements: The placements have been improving every year and a higher number of students get placed every year. The highest salary offered was 9 lakhs per annum and the lowest was 2.15 lakhs per annum. The companies that visited our college were TCS, ITC infotech, Tech Mahindra, HP, Emphasis, SAP labs, MU Sigma etc. The roles offered to students were business analysts, associate software engineers etc. Around 60% of students had got their internship in the first three years of engineering.
Infrastructure: The college had good Wi-Fi facilities on the college campus as well as in the hostels. It had well-furnished classrooms and a good library with a wide collection of books on various subjects as well as novels, fiction etc. The college campus had one veg and another non-veg canteen containing delicious and hygienic food. The hostel rooms were big enough for two people to stay in. The college and the hostels had good infrastructure facilities.
Faculty: There was a good number of faculty members who helped us clearing our doubts at all times. They were a great source of support to us. They were all MTech degree holders and the heads of all departments were PhD holders. We had various teaching methods as they conducted quizzes, tests, seminars etc.

Good placements in 2016, good infrastructure and an excellent management.
Placements: The placements were good as most of the students were placed. Almost 98% eligible students were placed this year. The highest package offered was 9lakhs by SAP Labs and the lowest was 1.9 lakhs. Around 30-40 companies visited the campus for recruitment- HPE, ITC Infotech, Tech Mahindra, TCS, IBM, L&T, Mu Sigma, Analytics Quotient, Mindtree and so on. The roles offered- Associate IT Consultants, Business Analyst, Junior Engineers.
Infrastructure: The campus is Wi-Fi enabled, and we have a huge library (2 floors). Our throwball team has been the winner of the VTU level tournaments almost every year. The classrooms are spacious, and there is a dispensary in the campus where either a doctor will be available or a nurse. There is a chapel in the campus as well. The labs had enough facilities and the lab instructors were helpful enough.
Faculty: The faculty members were all helpful and qualified. The course curriculum was good enough but a few topics were outdated. Our HOD was very helpful and encouraging, and he took us to Kochi for an industrial visit. We visited a startup village and ISRO as well.
