B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2026

Absolutely satisfied with the infrastructure, placements and affordable fee structure.
Placements: Some 80% of students got placed from my course. The highest package offered by Texas Instruments is nearly 28 LPA based on internship performance, the average package is around 4-8 LPA, and the lowest is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Texas Instruments, Thales, Juniper, Oracle and SAP labs. Approximately 80% of the students got internships in companies like Texas Instruments, Juniper, LTI Mindtree, and Godrej Finance. Top roles like Analogue layout intern, VLSI intern, software developer, frontend and backend developer.
Infrastructure: In our department, we had good facilities for labs. A few years back, the college renovated, so we had a new set of equipment in labs, and most of the labs will have access to Wi-Fi. We have a separate block of building for classrooms. We have one of the best libraries where you will get every book related to your curriculum and other books as well, and get a peaceful environment to study. In the hostel, excellent facilities are available, and the food is very tasty and worth the money we pay. For sports, we had ground to play.
Faculty: Most teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Most of the teachers had very good teaching skills. The course curriculum is relevant. Students who try to understand the subjects in depth make them industry-ready. Semester exams are quite difficult for us in our college. Most students are very intelligent and hardworking, most of them will still pass.
Other: I chose this course because I had an interest in semiconductors, but in college, my interest turned to the IT field by doing DSA problems. The best thing in our course is that you will have two options to sit for placements, IT or core, at your wish. The syllabus is vast, that thing needs to be improved in our course. Many events will happen in clubs. The campus is always filled with students and lectures. You will get the metro just beside our college and a bus stop nearby. Scholarship will be given every year, and extracurricular activities are also available.

Detailed review of University of Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE).
Placements: Placements are the only best thing here. The median placement is around 9 Lacs and the placement percentage is around 84 percent. Many top companies visit the campus. The training and placement office comes into action as soon as you enter the 4th year and start preparing you for the same.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are a little bit old-fashioned; you will get the feel of an old college, but the college view from the outside is just stunning. It feels like you are watching a heritage building. The college hostel is good but is mostly allotted to SC/ST.
Faculty: The faculty is just awesome here. Most of the faculty are locals (from Karnataka) and use Kannada in between classes, which is good. Almost all faculty members are Ph.D. holders and are very experienced. The course curriculum is very much industry-oriented and very simplified.

Absolutely happy with the placements and good infrastructure.
Placements: 80–85 percent of the students in my course are placed at various companies. The highest package was INR 24 LPA, and the lowest package offered was INR 4 LPA. Some of the top recruiters were SAP Labs, Texas Instruments, and Juniper Networks, and these companies hired for various roles, either core jobs or IT jobs. Most of them were offered internships at the same company as their full-time offer.
Infrastructure: Our labs are well equipped with Wi-Fi, but the instruments in the labs need to improve. There are a lot of changes that have been happening. So things will get better for the upcoming batches. The new hostel has really good infrastructure. And there's a gym in the hostel that promotes sports and games for the students. The food is good. A lot better than many hostels in Bangalore.
Faculty: The teachers are qualified, and only Ph.D. holders are recruited to teach the students, but self-study is the key in this college. The teachers might not be very helpful. But they will definitely clear any doubts regarding anything. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant, and a lot of students have gotten core jobs. The semester exam difficulty rate is 3 out of 5. The pass percentage is very high, almost 90 percent.
Other: Fests make this college, and it is really good. I would totally recommend that you join.

I am highly satisfied with its faculty members.
Placements: Almost 90% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered was 25 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 3.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Accenture, Texas, etc. Around 20% of students got internships in our college.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are very good. Wi-Fi is enabled. Laboratory and classrooms are better. The canteen is also available. The food quality is very good. New hostels are also opened in this college.
Faculty: Faculty members are good, and they explain concepts very easily. It is a government college. Teachers are qualified and helpful. Their teaching quality is good. Semester exams are tough, and the passing percentage is 35%. In our course both hardware and software knowledge is available.
Other: I opted for this course because of my interest in it. This course is very good. Technical and cultural events are conducted in our college. Scholarships are also provided to merit students.

Excellent placements, First Engineering College built in Karnataka.
Placements: University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering popularly known as UVCE, has excellent placements. Our batch that is ECE has 91% placements in 2022. The highest package offered to our course is 36 LPA, the lowest offered is Rs25,000 per month, on an average 4.5 LPA is the average package offered to our branch in our college. Top recruiting companies are Cognizant, Royal Enfield, SAP Labs, Mercedes Benz and many more. Most of the students choose IT sector and very few of them had gone through in core placements.
Infrastructure: Describing about the infrastructure in words is not possible, as it has the legacy of 105 years. It is the first engineering college built in Karnataka and 5th in India. This college was built under the supervision of Bharat Ratna awardee Sir M. Vishweshwaraiya. As of now the college building is under renovation as the old building was too old. Now they are bringing back the glory of its iconic block. UVCE has free Wi-Fi network for students, labs have been renovating by replacing the old instruments to new ones. Classrooms are hygiene and cleanly maintained. Library has abundant sources of books, research papers. Over more than 4000 books are there in UVCE library. Taking about UVCE hostel the new building is been constructing and it is in its final stage, as of now canteen building is constructed and it's inauguration is yet to take place and we will come to know about the food later on. But there is a Nandini canteen in our college campus.
Faculty: Teachers in UVCE are highly qualified in there subjects, most of them are Ph.D. holders. They help you to be ready for the competitive world. From 2021 UVCE has adopted NEP scheme the curriculum has been updated to make students industry ready. From 2022-23 batch UVCE will become the only government autonomous engineering college. Now it is under Bangalore University not under VTU. Ultimately self study is the only key to pass in UVCE and pass percentage is 42.
Other: UVCE is named after its founder Sir M. Vishweshwaraiya. It is the only engineering college under Bangalore University. This is the best college for middle class family students who are not capable of paying Lacs together money to study in private colleges. The only mode of entering UVCE is through KCET exam and no management seats are available in our college. Though UVCE has legacy of 105 years and as it is a government college, its management is not upto the mark. Most of the classes are taken by the assistant or junior professors and not by the Ph.D. holders. Lab equipments sometimes work and sometimes doesn't, but they are replacing them with the new ones now. Totally UVCE is one of those colleges where even rich people can't get admission without writing the exam. Now it is improving alot but the pace of the work is very slow. UVCE conducts mainly two big scale fests those are Impetus and Inspiron*Milagro and in small scale numerous functions will be conducted. UVCE campus is located at the heart of the Bengaluru City and is near to Majestic and Railway Station, nearer to Vidhana Soudha and High court of Karnataka. You can pursue all the government scholarships.

I am satisfied with this college, and I would recommend students to join in it.
Placements: Our college is a top placements college in Karnataka. The top companies are visited our college to hire students. CSE and ISE courses have the highest package in our college. In 2 years back, two students have 49 LPA in CSE courses in our college, and the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: It is an old college and the first engineering college in Karnataka. The infrastructure is good to look like a high court. The library is good, and has Wi-Fi and mind free to study in our library. The canteen is now construction is going on but students have Nandini parlor in the rock garden in our college.
Faculty: There are experienced lecturers and they are permanent lecturers. There are also guest faculty members in this college that visit. They are well educated. Students feel free to talk to them at any time, and they also responded respectively. I choices electronics and communication and in our college exam is very difficult to pass but students have to study properly to pass.
Other: Our college has different courses like CSE, ISE, civil, mechanical, EEE, ECE. I chose electronics and communication, and it is difficult to study and pass. But it is an interesting subject to study, and students can gain knowledge from this course.

Average faculty, great placements.
Placements: Our college is best known for its placements. A lot of companies visit every year and very good placements are recorded every year the average package is about 4 lakh per annum and the highest for 2019- 20 batch is 48 Lacs per annum, two students got that offer.
Infrastructure: The college is not that great in infrastructure as labs are too old, old equipment and outdated equipment, the library has sufficient number of books but a bit old, classroom are good and they are getting renovated. Wi-fi is very good in our college and up to 25 Mbps can be obtained.
Faculty: Faculty is not up to the required level. It is below par. Most of them are temporary. Can't rely a lot on the faculty. The curriculum syllabus has changed 2 years ago which will make us industry ready.

UVCE is an ambassador for students' talent.
Placements: The college is the best for its placements for the CSE and ISE students when compared with other government colleges in Karnataka. But only a few core companies visit the campus to hire the students of other branches. If the placement office is managed properly by a responsible officer and companies are asked to come to the college to hire the students of the branches like ECE, EEE, mechanical and civil, then this would be the best college in Karnataka.
Infrastructure: The students are able to access the Wi-Fi facility only for a few hours a day. Labs and classrooms are old and unclean. The campus is not maintained properly. Renovation works have started from a few days. They need to provide proper facilities for students. I will not recommend people to eat food from the canteen. The hostel is not good. But since it's located very near to the college, everyone prefers staying in the hostel.
Faculty: There is no coordination between the professors, especially in the ECE department. They are very talented and good. But they complete the full syllabus, and they only complete 70% of the syllabus. UVCE students are famous for studying on their own and scoring more irrespective all these issues.
Other: The college runs mainly by the students.

Unfortunately, you cannot get admission to B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) without any entrance exam. UVCE is a prestigious government college and admission for B.E. programs is strictly based on entrance exam scores.
